  1. Do we know who actually were present? The initial report from PNC indicated that 5 courageous men — Deacon Steve Martinez, Rick Duenas, Art Ilagan, Joseph Rivera and Richard Untalan — had confirmed their attendance and participation. This photo shows Jerry Taitano was present as well. Who else were there?

  2. Mary Lou, I was there as President of the Agana Cathdral-Basilica Parish Council. Also present were Jon Jr. Calvo, Parish Council Secretary, and Gaby Bamba, Parish Council Member. Others I recognized include Fr. Mike Crisostomo, Sen. Tom Ada, and other long-time supporters of the Cathedral-Basilica. Oh, Monsignor James was not in attendance. The press conference focused on refuting the allegations made by Archbishop Apuron against Msgr. James and the members of the Parish and Finance Councils regarding accounting improprieties which were totally not true and downright insulting.

    1. Thank you, Jerry — I saw you in the photo and was curious about who else were able to attend on short notice. God bless you and all the others for taking the time out of your day to be present in support of Msgr. James and for your efforts to clear his name!

As I've indicated in previous comments, there have been veiled and open threats on this blog against those who are critical of and/or voice concerns about the Archbishop and/or the NCW … so take good care of yourselves.

  3. There were of course the media. Pale Mike was there. And a handful of concerned people. It wasn't met to be like the prayer service. We did take time out to be there because we felt it was an important piece of the puzzle in the search for truth. It could very well be the tipping point. There was no effort in gathering people there. If it were just the five courageous people, it would have been more than enough.

God Bless this group. However, I do strongly suggest you take safety precautions at this time. try not to travel alone on the island and at all times have someone present with you.

    1. Fr. Matthew, as much as I am hating this Archbishop, I don't think he is capable of hurting anybody physically. What is happening here has some similarity with the struggle against the dictator in the Philippines. Salvaging and abduction here in Guam. I don't think so. Thank God.

  5. I was at the press conference, too. And, after listening to the speakers, men of unquestioned integrity, I could not help but feel the end is near, very near, for Apuron and his cronies.

Whatever Apuron says now will be seen as lame excuses, if not outright lies, which no one in his right mind will believe.

  7. Maybe that's why we haven't heard. Perhaps backing his boxes. Hope TSA doesn't open to see what he is taking from San Ramon Hill. He can have a nice suite at Hotel Accion. Swim in the Olympic pool, exercise in the 100 Gs exercise park, go out for dinner, go for a drive around the island in his luxury car. Go for massage, Go for Korean pancake, kimchee. Use his milag-eee to travel as he pleases to visit the few friends left. Go to Manila for retreat. Most people have so much to do after they retire, they don't know how they managed to work! Have a good retirement. Just retire quickly. Don't have a whole long string of parties. JUST GO. Congratulations on your decision. Good for you! Adios! Could return to the Friary. MMMM, maybe no. Forget it. Just and afterthought. Yup, stick with Accion hotel plan. Bye.

  8. You must have looked in the Crystal Ball? I did and I saw that the Arch and the NEOS days are numbered. The museum will reopen,Cathderal parishioners will return as well as BARRIGADA and Santa Rita. Father Paul is returned to Dededo and Monsignor James is the new Archbishop. Over 100,000 Catholics are happy. Monsignor David keeps his title, Adrian is a cook cleans the museum. The seminary accepts all local men and gets a proper education so we can understand their homilies.
