SNAKES IN THE GRASS...THEY KNOW NOT GOD

Every time you meet the public
You get scared and you start to panic
Who got a gun, a who got a bomb
Who got a knife, who's gonna lose their life?

So-called leaders aide with deceitful faces
Corruption in a high place, your hands full with bribes
Mouth pours out lies, yeah
'Cause of all oppression now running for protection

Bodyguard, I wouldn't like your job
Snakes in the grass say they know not God
Polytricksters drinking human blood
Concrete heart can hold no love

I just can't sorry for the bodyguard
Bullet-proof vest strap to your chest
Under your collar is getting hot
Who got a gun, who got a bomb
Who got a knife, who's gonna lose their life?

Bodyguard, I wouldn't like your job
Snakes in the grass they know not God
Polytricksters drinking human blood
Concrete heart can hold no love

Bodyguard, I wouldn't like your job
Snakes in the grass says they know not God
Polytricksters drinking human blood
Concrete heart can hold no love

Hey, hey, don't feel no way
I just can't sorry for the bodyguard
Who got a gun, who got a bomb
Who got a knife, who's gonna lose their life?

Bodyguard, I wouldn't like your job
Snakes in the grass they know not God
Polytricksters drinking human blood
Concrete heart can hold no love

Bodyguard, I wouldn't like your job
Snakes in the grass says they know not God
Polytricksters drinking human blood
Concrete heart I say can hold no love

Watch it all you, presidents
Heads of government
(Who's gonna lose their lives?)
Mash down parliaments

I just can't sorry for the bodyguard
(Who's gonna lose their lives?)
I just can't sorry for the bodyguard
(Who's gonna lose their lives?)
All that fretting, all that checking
(Who's gonna lose their lives?)
All that searching for assassin'

  1. I usually try to control my comments when playing in the Jungle, but yesterday's irreverent handling of Santa Marian Kamalen for what appeared to be in the interest of "securing" the Archbishop boiled my blood beyond measure. In my nearly 15-year history of attending the processions from beginning to end, I've never seen both the Archbishop and Santa Maria handled so unbecoming of the occasion to honor our island's patroness. Santa Marian Kamalen, herself, would have protected him. "O ye, of little faith."

To the gentlemen in black polos, khaki-pants, dark shades (if you're reading) - you ought to be commended in carrying out the whisper instructions of Msgr. David to protect the Archbishop (and Msgr. David, of course). I'm sure you made it a personal mission and probably felt good that you got to be pretend bodyguards for the day...but we all know that you have regular day jobs. Stick to those as I'm for certain you do them well. On the one day when Santa Marian Kamalen and the Archbishop should be most accessible and visible - let them be. There was absolutely NO credible AND identifiable threat to his safety, danger to the statue, or those surrounding. If there were, those whose real job it is to enforce and protect would have been there. Instead, your actions, perhaps executed with good intention, turned out to be a distraction and an insult to view and be in communion with Santa Maria.

Those days of plexi-glass shields and policemen protecting the statue are long gone. Next year, put your energy watching Fr. Adrian. Remember, under his administration, Santa Marian was lost twice.

Not even Pope Francis expects body guards to protect him. In fact he runs away from them. Because he has faith.

  2. At Santa Barbara's Fiesta mass, I noticed that Deacon Claros and a seminarian moved from their seats prior to the end of mass. Interestingly, they positioned themselves near the main entrance of the church close to where John Toves was standing. My first thought was, "Are you acting as bodyguards for the archbishop?" If so, how utterly sad.

If the Archbishop is so afraid of interacting with the faithful, what use is he?

John Toves flew all this way to speak to AAA, and with every turn, he was denied access to the "supposed" spiritual leader of our island. I have to say, archbishop, that the MORE you behave the way you are, the GUILTIER you look. Have the decency to sit down with John - even if it means no one else is in the room. Why are you so reluctant to even do that? The arch's comments about "on the advise of counsel" and the recent practice of surrounding himself with "bodyguards" in public SCREAMS of someone who is trying to HIDE something.

Archbishop - LOOK AROUND YOU! Look beyond the people you listen to in the NCW. They are but a small group in a much larger population of Catholics. The people of Guam are crying out for you to do what is RIGHT. How can our church heal? The answer is simple. The Archbishop needs to step down, and the Pope needs to appoint a new leader - one who TRULY cares about the faithful; one who will bring ALL of us closer to God; and one who the people love and will follow.

  3. What is the AAA afraid of saying to John Toves? If you are innocent, "for sure, for sure". There is nothing you can say that can be incriminating. Truthful people with a pure heart are not afraid of speaking the truth....nothing to hide....

  4. I've learned in my experience, that those who evade questions, are hiding something and are lying. If you are truly innocent AAA, confront your accuser and be the leader you once were, by speaking with him.

  5. If you always tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything!

  6. Frankly, Archbishop is acting as if he is covering up something.

  7. Its funny how AAA is portraying himself as the victim, requiring guards to protect his person from being hurt, however no one has threatened him or made threats against him. This is our spiritual leader who is resorting to human effort for protection.. I would think he would be calling upon the Lord or his Blessed mother and entrust himself to their care. Is not fear a result of llacking trust in God's divine providence ? and does not Our lord assure us, "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

  8. It is a sign of the weakness of his faith when he must rely on bodyguards and not the Lord above.

  9. The individuals in black polos and khaki pants, yes indeed have day jobs, but rather dressed that way they way to stand against the current situation in our church. I know that it was their "Promesa" to the church, but it doesn't mean that they support the actions of AAA! They didn't want to wear the Cathedral shirts, but instead wore the black and khakis in support of MSGR. Benavente! He lead the same group of people who were dressed in black and khakis. I know for a fact that they did not get any instructions from MSGR. Quitigua! They have done it for so long that they don't need to be told what to do!

  10. And I you folks did not know AAA jad his car keyed while attending mass the week prior to the procession, so probably explains the dude in all black following AAA! That guy is in the NCW and a want to be cop! MSGR QUITIGUA asked that guy to follow AAA!

Anonymous (December 11, 2014 at 12:44 AM), you say that AAA had his car "keyed" recently — was that reported to the police? Or was it like the alleged tire-slashing incident from several months ago, which was not reported to the police?

I'm sure, as with the alleged tire-slashing incident, "The Dianas" will try to point their accusing fingers at those of us who dare to post in this blog as the perps of the "keying" of AAA's precious ride.
