  1. Just wondering, I heard that the marijuana legislation was approved by local voters as a way of expressing local catholic disgust w/AAA's lies and neo manipulating. Is Casino/Gambling legislation next on the agenda because timing is right? What with all the neo scandals going on?

  2. The approval of medicinal use of marijuana by voters here is representative of the social climate that tolerates its use. The archbishop was a non factor. Gambling is a different story as most people can agree that addiction to gambling is far more damaging.
Personally, I'd rather leave the laws against marijuana in place. Marijuana kills ambition, something that we can clearly see with our youth who are growing and using marijuana. As a Catholic, I believe that our body is a temple and we must do our best not to desecrate it.

    1. Maybe, but I heard from several people who voted for the initiative precisely to protest against the archbishop. And as for the social climate, what does our current social climate say about a bishop of a mostly Catholic population who has been in place for 30 years?

  3. To oppose Anthony Apuron time to pass casino gambling on Guam. Loud voice the nation opposes Anthony Apuron vote for casino gambling to show he has no authority over Guam.

    1. Sounds like you're reading from Diana's "Book of Illogic and Bad Reasoning." I hear the Archbishop is also against the devil, but that does not mean I'll be giving Satan any of my votes.

  4. Pope Francis has called. AAA must listen to his "boss". Unless Pope Francis listens to kiko.

  5. Praying that the Holy Spirit strengthen and inspire these two ladies as they share their innermost thoughts and feelings regarding the turmoil in our Church. May they speak from the heart and be advocates for truth, justice, and healing through Our Lord Jesus Christ.

  6. That rumor has a flawed premise. At least for the readers of JW. It posits that we Catholics would support medical marijuana and gambling just to oppose Apuron. To be clear, we oppose the practices of the NCW, not the Church. Additionally, medical marijuana and gambling are not inherently moral issues. Their abuse can lead to immoral behavior but so can alcohol and you don't see Catholics running to confession because they consumed a bottle of beer.

So that rumor is probably someone's way of gauging whether the climate is ripe to pursue other agenda. Apuron has no influence here. I'm sure the same is true for many other Catholics.

  7. Joke about it (casino gaming initiative) all u want, however, the "slippery slope" has begun on Guam with the neos, crack, and marijuana. Next on the menu is home invasions, carjackings and such. The family that prays together, stays together. Not many families praying together now that the church/families are divided....how's that for a simplified stretch. Wake up people, take back your families/church!

    1. When KUAM ran the story about the casino still operating at Tiyan carnival grounds long after the summer carnival ended, I thought hmm, why didn't AAA and the anti-gaming group make a stink about it. Not one peep! Then when the visitators arrived and the cameras caught them being escorted out of GIAA by none other than Sinajana Mayor Robert Hoffman, it became clear! So is Hoffman and AAA best buds -- does he walk the same WAY? smdh BTW marijuana and gambling are minor compared to what's going on within our Diocese.

    2. No. Robert Hofmann is NOT in the Way. He is the president of the Mayors Council which oversaw the gaming on the carnival grounds.

Mr. Hofmann as president of the Mayor’s Council, Jon Calvo, who represented the Congresswoman, and Jesse Alig, who represented the governor, met the visitors at the airport and gave them a traditional island welcome.

And you are right, marijuana and gambling are nothing compared to the ongoing destruction of the church on Guam by those who occupy its highest offices.

    3. Thank you for the clarification. This is why I come back to the Jungle to get answers to whatever questions may pop up. Si Yu'us ma'ase, Tim, for all you do to keep us informed and set the record straight! Biba Katoliku

    4. Thanks Tim. I think it is true gambling is really nothing compared to the ongoing destruction of the church on Guam. Neo is a greater threat to our famalies, our culture, our people, than anything associated with casino gambling. Understand now what you mean.

  8. BTW, as Tim has documented, the rise of abortions by local females of catholic families seems to keep rising every year. Pray, pray, pray and talk to your kids about what values you want to instill in them as Catholics.

    1. Yes, sadly, nearly 2/3 of the 213 abortions in 2013 were performed on women who identified themselves as “Chamorro” which means there was an 80 plus percent chance that they were also Catholic.

However, minors accounted for only 7 of the 213 abortions, and even with those, there is good reason to believe that some were forced to abort by their parents or guardians.

  9. The evil of abortion continues to grow because Apuron does nothing to protect the rights of the unborn child. As he continues flying around the world in business class staying in five star hotels eating foie GRAS for dinner, babies are aborted. What kind of a spiritual leader is Apuron?

  10. AAA has lost total credibility with our youth all the way up to our elderly. Now the elderly was coming out and speaking up! This says a lot.

  11. Tim, since I've been back and going to different churches I've been having a really hard time understanding the priests on certain churches. Their English is so bad!!! Can you please tell me which churches are Neo?

    1. Neo churches that I know of are Agat, Santa Rita, Asan, Agana, Barrigada, Chalan Pago, Tamuning. I think Inarajan, Merizo, Umatac & Yigo too, but someone would need to confirm this.

    2. To be clear, these are no "Neo churches," rather, they are heavily influenced and/or the pastor is RMS formed. The parishes named above are still Catholic and still ours.

Ask those pastors the questions you need answered; hold them accountable whenever you see or hear something unfamiliar or against the norm; form your own communities or groups to promote and preserve these, our parishes; read about the mass and practice what is in place; follow the GIRM and hold our pastors to these directives that come from the magisterium of our Church; recognize the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist in letting that be the reason for our worship in Mass; but, for the goodness of God, please do not abandon these parishes!

    3. Altho Tamuning has msgr and priests supporting the Neo or are Neos themselves, Msgr. Bibby, Fr. Rudy, Fr. Karl, Msgr James and Fr. Paul and Fr. Mel are the priests that do give good homilies. Same with Yigo. All the priests there are your regular priests. They might be saying mass for the Neos in the parish halls but they are good priests. Of course, there are priests that are RMS trained that, as you are saying, you can't understand. I have not experienced that myself yet. Thank God.

    4. Accountability is only possible if there is a competent authority ready and willing to correct the errors made by those who are working on their behalf. Until then, our voiced concerns will continue to fall on deaf ears.

  12. Every citizen of Guam needs to speak up about the disturbing spiritual leader of the church in Guam.
