KUAM:

Klitzkie working on "bogus" certificate of title for Yona property

Former senator Robert Klitzkie says he's been in communication with Department of Land Management director Michael Borja over what he calls a "bogus" certificate of title for the mega-million former Accion Hotel property in Yona. Klitzie has written letters to Borja over the property now known as the Redemptoris Mater Seminary, which has been surrounded in controversy over the last year.

"I got a letter from Michael Borja on January 20 where he recognized there was a problem with the December 9 certificates of title," said Klitzkie. "Before or at about the same time, he told me he met with the Attorney General and the assistant attorney general assigned to the Department of Land Manager that is Kristen Finney, they concurred or found the certificates of titles issued on January 9 must be corrected."

According to Klitzkie's letter to Borja, Land Management's legal counsel is working with counsel for the Archdiocese of Agana, a corporate sole to collect more information. Klitzkie says he was informed a petition would be prepared by the attorney general to possibly resolve the matter.

Klitzkie says he will roll out more information on the matter next week.
