June 06, 2016

Pope Francis has named Archbishop Savio Tai Fai Hon, the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, as apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Agaña, Guam, following abuse allegations against Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron.

Archbishop Apuron, 70, has led the archdiocese since 1986. While Archbishop Apuron remains archbishop of Agaña, Archbishop Hon, as apostolic administrator, has been given temporary authority to govern the archdiocese.

The archdiocese has vigorously denied the allegations against Archbishop Apuron.

Appointment of the Apostolic Administrator "sede plena" of the Archdiocese of Agaña (Guam)
Pope Francis has appointed Msgr. Savio Hon Tai-Fai, SDB, apostolic administrator "sede plena" of the Archdiocese of Agaña, in Guam.
[00940-IT.01]

"SEDE PLENA" An apostolic administrator in the Roman Catholic Church is a prelate appointed by the Pope to serve as the ordinary for an apostolic administration. An apostolic administration can either be an area that is not yet a diocese (a stable 'pre-diocesan', usually missionary apostolic administration) or for a diocese, eparchy or similar permanent ordinariate (such a territorial prelature or a territorial abbacy) that either has no bishop (an apostolic administrator sede vacante, as after an episcopal death or resignation) or, in very rare cases, has an incapacitated bishop (apostolic administrator sede plena).

This means that Apuron has NOT been replaced, but only "sidelined." For how long and what will eventually happen, we do not know.

    1. His boss, Card. Filoni, is notorious in his support of the NCW. Don't hold your breath.

    2. He is not a neo, but he is Filoni right hand and a big neo sympathiser. Already working on this....This the kikos desperate attempts to keep control of Guam and have the Vicar appoint a neocat. It is also an attempt to side line the Nuncio

    4. Frenchie, short and sweet...and deadly precise.

  2. Well the kikos are going to rejoice, having been able to have Hon nominated as vicar. I guess our efforts will have to continue unabated

    1. Yes, Frenchie, we will continue to keep our eyes and ears open. The "silver lining" to this cloud is the possibility of exposing the NCW for what it is to the whole world

  3. Wasn't he one of the three wise men from the first visit? Will he ordain the fake seminarians? At least we have a chance, I think.

  4. Let's hope Archbishop Hon looks into the Yona property and Lewis scandal.

    1. His mind made up about property. He even has a plan. Return to Archdiocese and then Neo RSM rent for a dollar a year. Uh, huh. That's the plan. He has work to do to even effect this much. Archbishop Hon, may I introduce Professor Gennerini and his lovely wife?

    2. And:

Archbishop Hon, welcome to your first scrutiny.

  5. Certainly appointed to protect NCW interests. Would like to give him a chance; but he made his pro NCW stance known in Guam before.

  6. Church desire for the good of Church in Agana is shown by a high ranking Archbishop appointed as Administrator. However , Neo involvement is well known.

  7. Mays refreshing twist. From Vatican News
    Good news brothers and sisters,

The Pope did not ask Archbishop Apuron to resign. He still remains the Archbishop of Guam. That is excellent news. The Holy Father has appointed Francesco S.E. Mgr. Savio Hon Tai-Fai, S.D.B., apostolic administrator "sede plena" of the Archdiocese of Agana, in Guam. An Apostolic Administrator "sede plena" of the Archdiocese of Agana (Guam) has been temporarily assigned until this episode of sexual abuse allegations is cleared up.

    1. May simply regurgitated info from Cativan News Service. So amusing to follow this woman. What a jke!

    2. Funny: the Vatican statement (both English and Italian) fail to mention the "temporarily...until this...is cleared up." Perhaps they'll dive into the far deeper well of corruption at work here. Whether he's sympathetic to NCW or not, you'd think for a non-Kiko personal sympathetic that he would want to see an archdiocese cleaned up of all the filth.

PS. Kiko loves to claim that they're going back to the early, "purer" Church. Yeah, bud: how about that part where the Lord drives the money changers out of the Temple, including their black trash bags.

    3. This is the perfect time to step forward and speak out. If you have been abused by Apuron or any clergy pray to the Holy Spirit for courage and the strength to speak the truth. If we don't clean up this church no one will and it will continue to fester.

  8. Maybe this is a great opportunity to see how effective Archbishop Savio is in Dealing fairly and justly with this mess. Who knows? Maybe big brother might be watching for him to bungle up even more and then Apuron's Law (Recent Motu Propio) will apply to him as well. It's like killing two birds with one stone. Nice move!

  9. So they want to see what we have. Let's show him.

  10. Perhaps this Archbishop will as a first priority revise the Sex Abuse Policy that Apuron refused to revise, put some teeth into it to enforce the zero tolerance policy, and remove all those people who assisted Apuron in the compromise of the weak policy that Apuron authored. David, Adrian, Alberto (Assistant Chancellor) Claros, Kim, Maryann, Pius and Pao Fafa OJ.

  11. My immediate reaction to this news of Archbishop Savio Tai Fai Hon being appointed Apostolic Administrator for our archdiocese is a prayer to the Holy Spirit that he be used as an instrument to bring peace, unity and harmony within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, that he be a true leader to shepherd the flock to Christ to the true Faith, and lead us to Jesus thru Mary - ad Jesum per Mariam.

Through the infinite merits of Jesus Christ who sacrificed His life for us on the Cross and does so every time that same sacrifice is repeated at Mass ("as often as you do this, you do it in remembrance of Me"), may his apostolic-ship bring peace and healing to a church that is hurting. May his tenure as Apostolic Administrator be one that fulfils the prayer of Christ: "Father, I pray that those You have given me may be one, even as You and I, Father, are One. - UT UNUM SINT!"

May I be joined by the rest of the Church Militant here in our archdiocese, in praying for you - and wishing you God's abundant graces in the tasks that lay ahead of you. God's peace and blessings be with you, Archbishop. - Respectfully, Joe R. San Agustin (June 6, 2016).

    1. Joseph you are a lot better Catholic that I am. I guess my french side makes me very sarcastic, and doubtful.
His first actions will be very telling, if he keeps the same suspects at the Chancery, we will know without a doubt, this will be a communication mission, with no real will to change behind... If he reshuffles some key personnel, and has a real investigation then the jury will be out.
In the meantime don't fall asleep at the wheel. The next few weeks shall be decisive.

    2. A few things we might see:

      1. Roman collars worn properly. ("Dang! This thing is tight!")

      2. NCW following the 2008 statutes. ("I thought we were allowed to do anything we wanted!")

      3. Press releases that make sense. ("I thought I was finished with homework when I graduated from the seminary!")

      4. Everyone doing the right thing. ("Bye guys. I'm out of here. What did you think I came here for? To be a priest? Give me a break!!!")

    3. Sinot San Augustin, Amen. Your comment and Bruce Williams are the best out of all and a welcome break from the usual style of commentary.

  13. For my own part, I can only hope that Salvio will be the right man for the job inasmuch as if he is known to be a Kiko sympathizer, then a recommendation for the Archbishop to step aside (or be deposed) from him should keep Neo hysterics at bay. If he does nothing and lets everything go, then inevitably the lawsuits will move forward, and we can make our case.

    At least I hope.

  14. This Chinese bishop did not inspire respect when he visited last time with Archbishop Krebs and that other priest. Another luminary who is out of touch with reality in an attempt to prolong the agony of the people of Guam. In remaining as Guam Archbishop, Apuron merely prolongs the suffering of many.

  17. Let us pray for Archbishop Savio Tai Fai Hon. He's stepping into a firestorm! The cesspool on the hill is filled with deceit, arrogance and heresy. May the Holy Spirit guide him. St. Michael the Archangel protect us!

  18. Archbishop Hon needs our prayers as he begins the difficult task of sorting through the mess that is the Archdiocese of Agana. We will support all sincere efforts to clean house, heal the wounds and guide us in the right path.

In addition to praying we will be watching and insuring the neo influence and pressure is not in play this time around. Archbishop Hon will soon find out the "Guam sheep" bleat very loudly and have sharp teeth.

  19. to apuron and the other fools on the Chancery hill: "The eyes of the world are upon you!" (these words were said on D-Day, 06 June 1944)
appropriate that the vatican announcement was also announced on the 6th of June this year.

  20. - Regardless of what happens, the Whole World now knows how Our Island of Guam was used to gain Earthly Materials vice Heavenly Ones by our So Called Catholic NEO Leaders. When one dies, all he/she gets to take with them are the "new clothes" and a casket. To Get Heavenly Admittance, One must have lived a Good, Loving, Christian, and Humble life, and obeying all of God's Laws. Just Saying!
