VATICAN DIPLOMACY 0 - NEOCATECHUMENAL WAY 10

Posted by LaPaz, Jungle Watch correspondent from Spain.

In Europe, soccer (fútbol) is the king of sports. In Champions Leage, when the very best clubes from the continent compite among them, it is impossible to find a result like 0 vs 10. Obviously, if just the best are playing, supposedly their performance should be quite high for both.

Finding that score would mean both teams were not playing the same game. Maybe it was such a fraud, a shamble in competition. Impossible at all. Supporters would think they had been deceived, at least those who consider Champions Leage is a competition characterized by high level and prestige.

That's the feeling I had when I found this picture in internet a few minutes ago.

More than 200 pilgrims from Guam and Saipan were scheduled to leave for the 14th World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland on Thursday, July 21, and Friday, July 22, 2016.

Comprised of youth and adults from the Neo-Catechumenal Way communities throughout Guam, Saipan, Hawaii and Kiribati. This marks the 7th World Youth Day in which the communities have sent youth.

World Youth Day will take place July 25-31 in Poland.

A celebration of Reconciliation was celebrated on Thursday, July 14 at the Bishop Baumgartner Memorial School Gym in Sinajana, to have the pilgrims enter into the journey in the state of grace and open to receive the gifts that God has planned for them on the pilgrimage.

Archbishop Savio Hon Tai Fai, SDB, was present with his assistant Father Tadeusz Nowak, OMI and joined other priests of the Archdiocese of Agana in blessing the pilgrims.

About World Youth Day

World Youth Day (WYD) is a worldwide encounter with the Pope which is typically celebrated every three years in a different country. The most recent WYD was celebrated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 23rd to 28th, 2013 and the next World Youth Day is about to commence in Krakow, Poland July 25-31, 2016.

WYD is open to all young people who want to take part in a festive encounter with their contemporaries centered on Jesus Christ. This event is an opportunity to experience in first person the universality of the Church; to share with the whole world the hope of many young people who want to commit themselves to Christ and others. World Youth Day is a unique way to deepen your faith and grow closer to Christ, by means of prayer and the sacraments, together with thousands of other young people who share your interests and ambitions.

From worldyouth.com, official site of WYD 2016."

Bishop Hon:

I am not from Guam. I had my doubts about writing these letters if I am not concerned with that Diocese. But finally I have decided to do it because you are a Bishop of the catholic Church. Catholic means universal.

You are an ordained minister of the Church where I belong as a catholic member. As it, I can recognize in you the figure of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. At least, your great mission is shepherding His sheep, not yours nor other's owners.

World Youth Day, since its first celebration under JPII Pontificate, is for all catholic young people. Not only those who live their faith in any particular charism or organization. Every young is called to participate. WYD is not an exclusive patrimony of anybody nor any group.
As a good sheperd, you should bless all young pilgrims from Guam who are joining WYD 2016 in Poland. They all do need the helping Grace from God to face it.

As their Bishop in charge, while the moment, you should impart your blessings in a place where everybody could identify who is the owner of the sheep, the Lord. Where does our Lord "reside"? In His Church, represented in catholic temples where everybody who wanted could always look for Him.

Excuse me, but I do not think a neocatechumenal building is the best representation of that universal home for universal catholics. Not everybody can enter in a neocatechumenal building, except with their permission when they invite you to assist their ceremonies. Please, do not tell me the story of Neocatechumenal Way has no real state properties because the Diocese is the real owner of those property assets. I have been an active member of the NCW for decades and I already know that music.

Maybe this hides another problem: only members of the Way from Guam are going to join WYD in Poland, which means there are not any pilgrims in Guam who live their faith out of the Way. If so, then it is quite sad and very telling itself.

Another option could be that the few young catholics who join that pilgrimage must do that travel with neocatechumenals for "logistical reasons". In such case I understand you could have done, as well, the election of a catholic temple to celebrate that blessing of pilgrims. For their respect, even if they were only one of two in front of many neocatechumenals, since the moment that all neocatechumenals are catholics but not all catholics have to be neocatechumenals.

I expected much more from so famous "Vatican diplomacy", it is raining a lot in Guam Church and it is difficult to understand this lack of "left hand", as we say in Spanish when a torero has to handle a particularly dangerous bull.

Jesus said us in the way we treat the others we will be treated. You can not expect from others what you do not give for them. If you want unit, give unit. You are the shepherd, not others. You have to take care of all Jesus's sheep, not only of the most beautiful ones. If you do not leave everything to look for the lost, what would your Lord, the really owner, think?
I do know what people who do not join the NCW would think when they look at that picture and read that text. As well as do know what do the NCW members in Guam think. Consider I am an strange and I am not playing that game, but facts talk many volumes.

  2. This is true. There has always been a concerted effort by Puus and Apuron to only have Neo youth go to WYD. Apuron has even donated his personal funds to help the Neo youth, no doubt funds he has received from all those scrutinies!!! Apuron's personal wealth has been personally enhanced by the Neo, directly and without disclosure.

  5. When Apuron and his cronies make arrangement for WYD with NCW focus, it becomes exclusively an NCW event. The NCW has hijacked this gathering of young people as a recruiting opportunity for the ncw, and chuck it up as fruits of the NCW., Apuron or this archdiocese under his reign, has never shown concern for the youth of the island, no programs have been formed by the faith formation office for youth ministries..

  6. The photo spoke a thousand words. NCW hijacked (that is the right word mentioned by 8:33 AM) WYD event and supported only youth in the Neo Way. How scandalous for a supposed emissary of the Pope to resolve issues on Guam to be seen in this light, blessing youth before the infamous icon-doodles of Kaka Arguello. Seriously, Hon and Ted, you are disingenuous in your diplomacy of neutrality. You said you don't want winners and losers? Well, it does not seem that way. LaPaz said it so very eloquently.

  7. This is true that WYD is exclusively for neo ways youths. Even if you are a non neo and our youth wants to attend and paying their trip cost, the neo will not accommodate the 99% of our GUAM YOUTH. ABH, you must review this practice and if you continue to support but excluding other 99% GUAM's Youth, then you have no support from us TRUE CATHOLIC for Unity. You will be just another AB who that refuses to take care of his other flocks and yet you want more money from "US". I am very Faithful to my God and my Church but losing respect for you as you do not respect US TRUE AND FAITHFUL CATHOLIC OF GUAM". "Sorry MY GOD but I HATE AND MEAN HATE OUR CATHOLIC LEADER". I will confuse my sins with YOU MY GOD. It is you that I LOVE AND ADORE.

  8. This caught my attention:
"A celebration of Reconciliation was celebrated on Thursday, July 14 at the Bishop Baumgartner Memorial School Gym in Sinajana, to have the pilgrims enter into the journey in the state of grace and open to receive the gifts that God has planned for them on the pilgrimage."
The gym at BBMCS has been hosting Neo activies since it was built. Hmm.. I wonder if the school is reimbursed for the use of the facilities. Anyone know anything about this? Won't be surprised if the school is not reimbursed knowing how they love to leech off others. Moochers gracias.

  9. 9:57AM 7/26 Get used to apuron's demise and fall from his title/position and from our island's One, True Catholic Church. You and the NCW can have him! He would be no loss to our local Catholic Church on Guam!
