TODAY IS THE FEAST OF ST. MICHAEL AND THE ARCHANGELS

It is particularly fitting for us who are engaged in this Spiritual Battle for the soul of our Church on Guam to honor St. Michael and continue to implore his help. It is also a Feast Day which I annually remember for a personal reason and I share this story each year on this day:

Thank you for reading it. And may St. Michael also come to your aid in a personal way.

  2. St Michael is also the Patron Saint of Paratroopers, around the world.

    "Angelic Michael, hear my call
As through the sky, I now will fall
    ...
I learned it in French, so it is difficult to translate.
I am sure you could find it online if you are interested.

  3. That is quite a story of a miracle and an Archangel Michael, Tim!
This is one of my favorite Feast days -- after Our Lady of Lourdes -- also Archangels St. Rafael and St. Gabriel and the Feast of Our Holy Guardian Angels (2 Oct, this Sunday).

Just an FYI: According to the 1962 Missal of St. John XXIII the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, today, September 29 is the feast of the Archangel St. Michael. Archangels St. Gabriel is observed on March 24 and St. Raphael on October 24 -- their traditional feast days. I like acknowledging the Archangels on their individual traditional feast days, as well.

  4. Wow! What a story! I'm sure others have such similar amazing stories of unexplained rescues from a physical point of view, but from a spiritual perspective someone spiritual was there to protect against the visible forces.

I encourage everyone to say this simple prayer every morning before they get out of bed to start their day, and every night before they close their eyes to sleep: "Angel of God, my guardian dear, through whom God's love entrust me here. Ever this day (night) be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen." St. Michael, the Archangel. Pray for me. Amen. (jrsa: 9/29/16)

  5. The Feast of Archangels is celebrated on September 29th. Here is a prayer to the three Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.

Heavenly Father, you have given us archangels to assist us during our pilgrimage on earth.
Saint Michael is our protector, I ask him to come to my aid, fight for all my loved ones, and protect us from danger.
Saint Gabriel is a messenger for the Good News, I ask him to help me clearly, hear your voice and to teach me the truth.
Saint Raphael is the healing angel, I ask him to take my need for healing and that of everyone I know, lift it up to your throne of grace and deliver back to us the gift of recovery.
Help us O Lord to realize more fully the reality of the archangels and their desire to serve us. Holy Angels pray for us.

    Amen
