THE NICE GUY SYNDROME

Posted by Tim

This has been a horribly difficult war. Bad politicians you can vote out, but bad bishops?

Apuron knew what he was saying when he said "no one can get me." Of course, in the end, God will "get" us all. "Vengeance is mine," says the Lord.

But meanwhile we must do our utmost to "bring about the Kingdom of God on earth," even if it means purging our church leadership of those who "harm the little ones" and for whom Christ said "it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." (Mt. 18:6)

Sadly, things have gotten so bad in our church because we have come to care more about being "nice" rather than being truthful.

Somewhere along the post-Vatican II way we got "good" mixed up with "nice." Or maybe we didn't get it mixed up at all. Maybe we found that "nice" was an easy place for the cowards to hide. I can't help but think of how "nice" is probably one of Satan's most effective tools. Read on:

  1. I agree tim, being nice is an easy way for cowards to hide from the truth. It still exists till this day. Even by exposing the truth, few of the man'ámko will frown on you because they can't believe or refuse to believe in the truth. Even if all the evidence is laid out in front of them in black and white. Sadly I've been going through that same thing with my family probate.

So it doesn't matter whether it's with the church or with family issues, it's a culture that's been around for decades on this island and our people need to understand that the truth can't be made up. We also need to stop the money till idiots like quitugua, cristibol, the monkey and etc..... All get removed from positions which have influence in the decisions of the diocese.

Archbishop Byrnes needs to see that these idiots are the ones who brought the archdiocese down. Until he recognizes that, then this archdiocese is in no better shape then before with these snakes waiting for another opportunity to strike.

    1. Anon 11:58 AM is right. The opposition is quietly gaining momentum over Bp. Byrnes. He's still in over his head and trusting the wrong people.

  2. I was told repeatedly by many islanders including clergy that they admired what I was doing though they couldn't help me - they were wouldn't feel nice doing in the manner I was going about it. You are so spot on, Tim.

I knew my being nice wasn't going to cut it. In fact, I knew I needed to be my worst to help expose Tony's crimes.

Being NICE would make for a great book. It is exactly as you say.

  3. Way back when, "nice" was one of two words the nun who taught us in 4th grade hated. The other one was "cute". Those two words were never uttered in her classroom. Her prohibition against them was so strong that I don't use those harmless words to this day.
