The He/She part is weird, I went to the Vatican site and read the verse from the official website.
In both English and Spanish, the word used is "He" (English) and "El" (Spanish) and yes, both are masculine. When I read it in Italian though, the word used is "Questa" which is femminine!!
Not sure why they would change it in different languages.
