I AM A FORMER NEOCAT

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "REPLIES ON DR. EUSEBIO'S LETTER IN TODAY'S PDN":

I am a former neocat and the claim of 1,000 is laughable. Whenever all of the neos get together, I estimate about 500-600, and many have dropped out, or walking off and on. Kids take up a significant portion. The fanatical core constitutes about 200, including archbishop Apuron , Monsignor David, and Fr. Adrian, and their catechist Fr. Pius. This is why a few disproportionally wields enormous and unholy influence over Guam. Fr. Pius wields enormous power and influence over the archbishop, who is just another member to the neocats. When there is a problem or an issue within the neo or outside the neo, Fr. Pius is asked first, not the archbishop. In fact, the archbishop, Monsignor David, and Fr. Adrian all defer to Fr. Pius. I know that Fr. Pius(and his boss Giuseppe) were instrumental in getting Fr. Paul fired, Monsignor James fired, the assignment of which pastors, and other decisions regarding the governance of the archdiocese. They certainly got the archbishop to incardinate Fr. John Wadeson here quickly and without notice, knowing of his alleged sexual abuse past, but he was a neo priest and he had important assignments to attend so they overlook it. How do I know? I know, and when Fr. Pius reads this, he knows who I am. :)

  1. This doesn't surprise me. As a neo, the archbishop has no "archbishopness" in the neo community in which he is a member. In the neo hierarchy, Pius is above him.

Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron of Agana, Guam, said perhaps "the church needs to restore the 'breadness' of the bread," by using the "unleavened bread used in the ancient and primitive church rather than the wafer-thin, mass-produced bread we use as hosts for our people today."

  2. Makes sense. I guess this is why we have most of the Parishes being run by a NEO Priest. Last report from the count of Parishes and the Pastor, 2/3 of them are NEO Priests. They will tout this to Rome not revealing the true picture of the demographics. They are OVERWHELMINGLY THE MINORITY. A minority that AAA allowed to take over the Capital of our Parishes, the Basilica.

Yes, the Order of where the Priest comes from should not matter, in this case, on our island, IT DOES!

  3. The neos always claim that we are not being forced to join. Although we are not forced, we are affected in one way or another...from paying out of our pockets for their use of church facilities down to the removal of our statues to replace them with their kiko art. Why do they get free use of church facilities anyway when others have to pay?

    1. Gets a lot worse than monetary offerings and statues. If you don't walk and hold any position in the Church of Agana, you will pay dearly. Cleric or lay.

  4. I have to give AAA credit for one thing. He is definitely rallying the troops. Unfortunately for him, he is rallying them against him and not around him. There is so much passion for our Church now. I hope his successor can turn this fervor into a productive rejuvenation of Our Catholic Church.
