YOU KNOW HE'S LOSING IT WHEN...

...he takes his fight into the schools.

According to a parent:

The Archbishop was making his school visit yesterday and he told the students "don't believe what you hear and read on blogs."  The parent said that many parents and teachers were upset that he would say those things to the students. They said that everyone, especially the students, were so uncomfortable with the Archbishop's presence yesterday.

    2. The school is Notre Dame High School.

    3. Thank you for this information, Anonymous (August 22, 2014 at 3:48 PM). At least the Archbishop didn't subject the elementary/middle school students to his careless words.

Despite claims that nobody at the Chancery reads that "blog somewhere," I'm sure the Archbishop will be made aware of the comments of disapproval here. One can only hope that he will, in the words of Archie Bunker, "STIFLE" and not mention the word "blog" at his next school visit!

    1. Someone should have asked him, "Even the NCW blogspot run by Diana?". I wonder what he would've said. He's just being a HATER, and THAT is not very Christian OR Catholic..

    2. Archbishop thinks the young ones are stupid enough to believe his statements. Though some will be impressed by your presentation, many other see right through you. That's the only transparency you can present.

  4. wait, why would reading blogs even come up? did a student ask him about something specific?

also, apparently, archbishop apuron isn't up to speed about the nature of the blogosphere.

and he seems to have forgotten that there are neocat-defender blogs as well.

  6. If Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron had a serious lapse of judgment in his message to Catholic School students — which he obviously did! — I can only hope the statement was made at one of the high schools rather than at any of the elementary/middle schools! It wasn't at Father Duenas Memorial (28 August) or at St. Thomas Aquinas (11 September) High Schools. So that leaves either Academy of Our Lady of Guam or Notre Dame High Schools.

If the visit was at none of those four high schools — and if he decides to share that message at all school visits — then I guess the little ones from the elementary level will be going home asking Daddy and Mommy, “What’s a blog?”

While we generally avoid discussing these issues in front of our grandchildren; however if we do, the names of the parties involved are not mentioned.

  7. Without even reading the blogs, haven't our kids heard conversations? Sadly, they have.

  8. My son said that when the Archbishop visited his classroom, he asked the students if they had any questions for him. My son said NO ONE asked a question. Looks like even our kids have lost trust in our Archbishop.

    5. I have asked my fair share of questions having been brought up in Catholic schools all my life, and I never thought I'd ever have to ask this question: If any of these students ask questions regarding this fiasco, will they later be turned away come time for Confirmation?

  9. This news is just plain scary. Not all parents have computers. Not all parents will know the multiple of levels that drama keeps happening with in the church it is so unbelievable. I don't know how kids would not know about the mess. Apart from the blog kids are exposed to new papers and the news the drama is being reported right there. Did ARCHIE tell kids who are naturally curious not to look at them either. Teachers encourage them to look as part of their learning. Telling Kids NOT TO LOOK is like telling them TO LOOK. It is certainly giving them something to think about and talk about. How confusing to be learning the 10 commandments while seeing that lies after lies are being told and proven. Don't you burn in hell for lying?
Apart from Catholic schools I am honestly afraid Catholic children who attend public schools may get teased over all this drama. How truly sad that would be.

  10. UncleScrewTape: Keep up the mass confusion Wormwood, I believe it's working. Quite the sly one you are for getting even the young'n in school involved this theatrical parapraxis.
Wormword: Oh uncle it was quite easy, you see the more LIES we can espouse and the bigger it is oh the better for us, I'm sure our father below will be joyous of my efforts.
UncleScewTape: Don't count your benedictions just yet you little fiend, the fight has just begun.
Wormwood: Oh uncle you're so kind, I will run along and check my friends at the Hill and see what they're up to, it's such an honor being around the Liers, I feel at home every time!

  11. I've been meaning to ask, why did the Archbishop join the Way? If it is traditionally for people who are lost or have been wayward from the Church, why would he need to join it? Has anyone ever asked him or was it covered in any interview?

    3. We heard it and he basically said he needed it and he was looking for more to lead his flock. So basically our leader was demonstrating his vulnerability and needed outside or additional support to help him lead. Well, he got what he needed, a bunch of wanna-be Bishops to run and lead our church and write his speeches and press releases. So now we are here with all this Crap, Rome needs to clean our house and disinfect the germs so we can get well and worship our Lord.

  12. Each year, the Archbishop makes it a point to visit every Catholic school on island. I don't believe that this visit was not for the sole purpose to send the message that this blog is bad. I was a student at three Catholic institutions for 11 years (1999-2010). In every one of those years, the Archbishop made visits. They usually involved a mass, a panel session, and a question session. I only ever remember him making one or two comments about theology itself much less anything about the Neocatechumenal Way.

In respect to students asking questions, it was usually the same questions every year - What's your favorite color? Why did you choose to become a priest? How long were you Archbishop? So, I understand that students didn't ask many questions. It's just what kids do when they're not so interested, or don't really have an opinion on what's going on.

    1. Things have changed! If certain parish priests can give this "hate blog " deal in their homilies, then I can see the Archbishop doing the same thing. It's a tactic to distract them from the truth.

I wonder what this is all doing to the students, especially those in high school! I am sure that there are students who grew up in the NCW and nothing else and then those students not in the way. What division will this present to these students, not to mention the friendship each may have with the other!

    2. He should avoid Father Duenas. A student might ask tough questions like why the snubbing of Aaron Quitugua or about his slanderous statements about Father Paul or the lies about Monsignor James and the protection of Father Wadeson. They might also ask why only neo priests accompanied him to meet our Holy Father in Korea. They might ask him to explain the I Matuna debacle as well. Better find a reason to about Father Duenas.

    3. Catholic students in all Catholic schools on Guam should be encouraged to read Tim Rohr and Chuck white. Mr. Rohr and Mr. White Provide students with a solid catholic understanding of the failed leadership of the Archbishop. Archbishop is no longer a respected voice of catholic students.

  13. Good Question Anonymous 6:31. After observing ArChIe's behavior perhaps the man could need help. He indeed may have felt "lost" in a role, that he has not had the training, vision or leadership skills to administer effectively. He may be like a fish out of water. Because of the title he bears their are expectations that come with it. Perhaps he really didn't know how to carry out the duties effectively. Perhaps he has been trying to survive under the guise of people being subservient. Perhaps he allowed others to make decisions for him and those he liked he acted upon. Perhaps he froze in silence when people stated questioning him and speaking up. Perhaps he retaliated because he was accustomed to subservience. According to reports it seems he has a history getting others to speak for him and write for him. Perhaps in the Neo way he found a place to meet his needs. Structure, decision makers, support, singing and dancing. Perhaps it was there he could "let go" and breathe a sigh of relief. Unlike Bishops else where, he has found comfort with the Neo's and became ONE with them. I do not know of course if any of it would be true for him. I just know however, that "nice people" can be thrust into positions they are not trained for, nor have the skills for. They become "survivors". IF this is what happened to ArChIe then joining the Neo's would make sense for him. I think it would also make sense why he feels safe and secure surrounding himself with Neo leadership. However, it does not make it OK or even acceptable for a lack of planning, organization, time management, memory problems, meta-cognition, sustained attention or unchecked impulsiveness, bullying and procrastination, happening within the leadership and management of the church. Seems a bit like survival tactics. A mindset others are lost. An answer to that may have been consciously or unconsciously to create a passive aggressive manipulative form of persuasion to pressure others to join the Neo Way to feel safe and supported? I dare say PRAY for him and FORGIVE him. Knowing he is doing the best he can, with what he knows and has. Pray for Catholics island wide. With that in mind, let's shuffle our feet taking action for the highest and greatest good of the Catholic church and all Guam's present and future Catholics.

What a wuss, oh yea, he has a boss above him and it surely isn't the Pope. Archie, pot fabot, so many are losing their respect for you. Seems even being Chamorro you won't stand up for your blood. 15. So you want us to stop reading the blogs? Go public and answer the allegations made against you and your actions. Disprove, publicly, everything mentioned on "the blogs" and we will go away. But you can't can you? and you won't won't you? Because you think that we're beneath you and don't deserve a response. Better yet go on that show good question, or the other one with the former senator, without your minions and only the Holy Spirit as your guide, and refute everything mentioned here, then we will go away.
Not gonna happen. Why? Because what is alleged here is true!

  16. The neos say there is no division in our Church. Then why hasn't anyone from the HILL (ie Fr. Adrian, Fr. David, Archbishop) come out to our parishes to address the serious concerns and questions we non neos have? Why is it that Fr. Pius has been making his rounds to all the "communities" talking with them and answering their questions ... offering explanations etc... Yet he has not addressed those not walking in the Way? Are we not important? Do our concerns and questions not matter? Who's doing the shepherding?

  17. Not sure why AAA would blurt out something like that to the students unless there is truly something to hide. Another misguided public appearance. Doesn't the Hill have a Public Media or Marketing Person to help AAA and provide him some damage control of HIS crumbling "Empire"? He has a lot of work if he is going to try and "build bridges". It certainly is not working the way he is going about it today. Oh and yes, the NEOCATS get the free ride to Korea. I guess our Archdiocesan Priests are no longer a priority as far as AAA is concerned. Their actions now are just rebuttals and reactions to him purposely giving out false information. How sad it is to be a Archbishop and get caught up in lies that are exposed. Sad but true. Of course no comment from AAA or the Hill to the Media. Again, Wow!
