Audiences
Vatican City, 21 November 2014 (VIS) – Today, the Holy Father received in audience:
- Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Muller, president of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith;
- Bishop Enrico Dal Covolo, Magnificent Rector of the Pontifical Lateran University;
- Bishop Anthony Sablan Apuron of Agana, Guam.
Wonder if he'll be ticked that the Vatican only called him a "bishop".
ReplyDeleteYes. he will be ticked.
DeleteWhat was the topic of discussion, Tim? I guess there's no guarantee that the rector of the Lateran University was with the Archbishop at his audience, he could have preceded him.
ReplyDeleteDo we know if the bishop was "called" by the Vatican to attend or the Bishop requested the meeting?
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything. However, I know for a fact that Covolo was advised of the extremely questionable caliber education at RMS and the Blessed Diego Institute. Covolo was here to review the Institute since the Institute trumpets its affiliation with his Lateran Institute. Had Blessed Diego passed muster, Apuron would have trumpeted it. He didn't. Thus the affiliation is probably under review and may account for the meeting. I don't know if the meeting with Mueller has anything to do with it, but the CDF is the usual disciplinary arm of the Vatican.
DeleteDear Tim,
Deletelets hope in this regard, that the Pope will follow his own lead. Indeed an Archbishop in Paraguay (or is it Uruguay) was recently removed for allowing priests to be incardinated after only 4 years of very light education in a local seminary.
Same archbishop had been lauded before for turning in so many priests.
I guess we should look carefully at this.
A very dim light in that tunnel?
Check Archdiocese of Agana website fotos od Archie with Pope, Master of ceremonies, jumping at every chance to show famous Archbishop best buddies with Vatican officials. Yuck.
DeleteApuron Plus others heading to Rome!
