SANTA ANA

Faithful Catholics gather outside the Santa Ana chapel tonight in Agat to pray the rosary while a neocatechumenal community celebrates their eucharist. A group of Agat faithful raised the money over several years of bake sales and other fund raisers to build the chapel. They have only been permitted to have Mass at the chapel once a month on the first Saturday of the month. The neocatechumenal community is permitted to hold their eucharist there every week as well as a weekly "celebration of the word".

  1. Thank you to the organizers of the prayer service. We need to continue to pray.

  2. Same goes for the San Ramon Chapel in Canada BARRIGADA. The people of Canada built the chapel and are turned away from using it. As I posted a while back....a family asked to use it for the purpose of having the rosary of their deceased one and were told by Eddie Garcia, that the Word was more important. On the day of the funeral at the main church, a NCW approached a member of the deceased....what do you know....NCW member comments...Why didn't you come to me to ask, you would have been permitted to use it. This is a bunch of CRAP!

  3. Apuron and his crew are simply unconscionable! I say better for it to burn to the ground than to let the fruits of your labor be used to corrupt the faith! The Yona property isn't enough? They have to go around the island commandeering other property that is supposed to be for the benefit of the faithful. The NCW denounces the need for churches, yet continue to try to take over our sacred property. Why because the property belongs to the archdioces and Apuron is the corporation sole, therefore, he can do whatever he wants? Careful. You are fast approaching a "peace that is only to be found on the other side of war," to quote Sean Connery in the movie First Knight...and not merely a war of words!

  4. To the Agat parish faithful who organized and who participated in a prayerful stance and public advocacy for authentic Catholicism: thank you for your courage and example of a steadfast commitment to our One, True, Catholic and Apostolic Church and your prayers from your parish's Santa Ana Chapel.

    1. So many things in life are uncertain, but faith allows us to live a life of positivity and patience

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”

“When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on. Help is on the way.”

      “This too shall pass.”

“Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”

“Faith is a knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof.”

“Faith is like electricity. You can’t see it, but you can see the light.”

“Faith means living with uncertainty – feeling your way through life, letting your heart guide you like a lantern in the dark.”

“Fear can keep us up all night long, but faith makes one fine pillow.”

  5. When I'm out driving around I can't help but notice the Neocatecemunal Way banners posted along the road side or beside their Churches. The first thing that comes to mind is our Archbishop Anthony Apuron. Aware, the Pope approved the Way. Though Is it mandatory for AAA to bring the Way to Guam. The Way has brought feud amongst the Catholic people, no peace, not even unity exist in our Church. With these facts, and to this day AAA continues to do nothing to fix this problem, but shown twice Archbishop takes the back door to avoid facing the people, something is terribly wrong here. If AAA is truly consecrated to our Virgin Mother, then AAA wouldn't want to hurt Her, or hurt Her children. Catholics are known to be Martyrdom---Guam Catholic Church is heading to be MartyrdOOm. Please Archbishop, help us before a calamity strikes our island! To the Vatican--In my opinion, the Way is not for everyone especially not for Guam having fewer Catholics than elsewhere, please consider our island, our people, and our custom! Thank you! Santa Ana, pray for us!

  6. The invitation to JOY is also being done in AGAT, after the homily! DURING MASS! Attended Mass tonight & was shocked after.

A concerned parishioner of the parish brought this concern to the pastor, Father Alberto, that this "invitation of joy" is NOT TO BE DONE during the mass, CUZ WE ALL KNOW AS GOOD CATHOLICS, THAT IT SHOULDN'T. Surprisingly & shockingly the pastor wasn't being a good sport or Christian & both raised their voice to each other. I think we all know what he'll be venting about to his favorite people.

The mentality of these Neo Priests is that if the Cathedral or Archbishop can do it, so can they. (Monkey see, monkey do.) FORGET THE RUBRICS & STRUCTURE, THAT THE CHURCH HAS SET FOR US. Cuz only here on Guam is where these priest is given the "authority" to add or subtract from the mass. This is an example of what kind of seminarians/priests the RMS produces. Good job to AAA for raising monkeys cuz they are sure playing in the JUNGLE. Lol.

    1. And shame on you for not knowing what the hell you are talking about. First, the "faithful" Catholics were praying at quite a distance from the chapel so they weren't interrupting anything. Second, what was happening inside the chapel was not a Mass, even the participants will tell you that. They abhor the word.

    1. Why so you suppose that Alberto Rodriguez disbanded the parish council in Agat, without the spiritual committee, he is free to do as he pleases in the parish. No opposition at all, free reign over all things, including the use of the Santa Ana Chapel the the hard working parishoners of agat built, and is now utilized by the NCW for their singing and dancing services.. Wake up people of Agat, take your church back..

  9. God bless our brothers and sisters in Christ who helped rebuild Santa Ana chapel. It is a crying shame that they have to be on the outside looking in as they watch others enjoy the fruits of their hard work and sacrifices. Something is definitely wrong with this picture, and I pray that this grave injustice be corrected to allow ALL Catholics to use the chapel for their spiritual well being.

  10. I'm getting fed up with this NCW bullcrap, and I invite all you NCW supporters to challenge my post. You know, since you're tired of being "persecuted" and all. Idiots.

I've been silent to your anctics for quite some time. I've watched as you have convinced a category of Catholics (I'll get to in a minute that you are God's saving grace. I stood in shock as you demolished the reputation of my altar server trainer, Father Paul (who I knew while he was a seminarian and invited me to serve his ordination). I have been standing quietly has you take the Umatuna, a newspaper I used to freelance for, into a damn mockery (more of your higher up members). I sat through your testimonies and all that crap, and I'm done with it. Someone answer me this: why is an extension program allowed to have all this power? Yeah you Neocrats I called it what IT IS: A DAMN EXTENSION PROGRAM. An extension program whose membership is comprised of Catholics who:

    A) Had horrible faith models around them,
    B) Barely attended Sunday Mass, either physically or spiritually,
    C) Did not know the gravity of their sacraments (take for example Confirmation, which I bet most of them did either because their parents told them to, they were promised a party, or were excited to go shop for that cute white dress however oblivious to what the heck the sacrament was asking for)
    D) Cracked open their bibles...never,
    E) Never bothered to look up the faith themselves.

Yes, the dumb blondes of the Catholic Church. Think I'm out of line here? Well listen to their testimonies about their faith journey and they all have one or more of these elements in them. So they're nothing more than weak members of faith. someone tell me how the dumb blondes of the Catholic Church have all the power in God's green earth to:

    1. Say Mass anywhere they please (including the chapels that the good parishioners in Agar and Barrigada paid for),

    2. Get top priority to all things Catholic (when they just "accidently rediscovered" the faith based on their walking time).

    3. Allowed to have a seminary of their own and produce lackluster priests who are charged with the responsibility of taking our souls to heaven...God help me it's a case of the blind being led by the stupid.

    4. Allowed to talk as if they are being persecuted. Hey, schizos- WHO THE HELL IS PERSECUTING YOU? Are you forced to celebrate the Catholic faith underground because you're afraid to willingly showcase your faith and become the Coliseum's next main event with a tiger? You know, since your "way" tries to imitate the worship practices of the early Christians, that's pretty much what they had to deal with until Constantine made Christianity legal in the Roman Empire through the Edict of Milan.

That's why they celebrated in communities -to avoid persecution. So damnit I want to know -who the heck is persecuting you...on an island that's predominantly Catholic? Oh man...still a case of the blind being led by the stupid...

And they dare say that High Mass is not enough? Are you freaking kidding me? You people dance around makeshift altars like its a kumbaya-fest singing along to damn awful acoustic guitar tunes. Yeah, and my cathecists at Confirmation wondered why I was undoubtly irritated during my Confirmation retreat...

I digress. It isn't fair at all that the dumb bmondes of the Catholic faith are treated this way when the true blue Catholics who are strong and confident in their faith need to resort to prayer vigils in protest that they cannot use the Church facilities that they paid for.

    1. Right? They're a support group that feeds off the anger, bitterness, and the WEAKNESSES of each other. They're told that in order to be true to themselves and their community, they must tell their secrets. Once those skeletons are revealed, they become fully vulnerable to those present -- they simultaneously become the enablers and the enabled -- and it's in this festering hive of dysfunction that they become dependent on, and thrive. Pretty sure that, after last Sunday's testimonies, the ball is in our court. I bet they think it's our turn to turn the Sacrament of Reconciliation into a mockery and publicly confess our sins. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa, but that's not happening.

They deny being a cult, and yet their behavior screams otherwise.

    2. The sad part is when they "rediscovered" their faith little did they know that they were being indoctrinated as per Kiko's rendition of the Catholic Church. The smart ones were able to see through the charade and got out of the Neo cult. The ones who remained were put through a cleverly designed program that made them "obedient" to their catechists and pulled them deeper into the group's insanity.

  11. Poor suffering Jesus, having to listen to the "rudeness and crudeness" of those (and yes some of those on Diane's blog too) trying to "correct" one another. There seems to be Truth on both sides; but, until each side can admit their wrongs, and refrain from vicious attacks, how can we be One Body with Christ as the Head. Why are we "Christians" continuing to mutilate Christ's Body. We are attacking ourselves. Can dialogue be civil?

uh duh....."poor sufferring Jesus?" Shows what stage in the catechesis you are at. Let's see now, in our profession of faith don't we (regular catholics) recite "and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end"
The Lord suffered for our sake and no longer suffers that we too may have the hope of rejoicing in his Glory when he comes again.

    3. Please explain to me how you would dialog "Jesus is a sinner", that "Kiko is a Prophet and is the only one who can lead us to God"? These are an attack on the fundamental belifs of Christian Teaching, the very basis of our faith. I have to ask do you really understand what you are up against ? I suggest that you research deeper what this cult really believes. You will have a different approach to compromise.

  12. Is San Bernadita chapel a Neo chapel also? Archbishop Apuron I know you have instructed all the faithful to avoid this blog...but I'm sure one of your minions must be reading this. ...

Please help us understand why you make allowances for a few and not the whole. You are hurting the very people who have assisted you in helping the Catholic Church to flourish rather than flounder.

Please...ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your decisions. I will continue to keep you and our Church in my prayers.

    1. It shouldn't be. Well Yigo has a Neo community since the 00s, but I remember the faithful of Yigo donated and fundraised for the chapel rebuild.

The reason for the chapel's rebuild was simple: so that those who are living in the area can go there for Mass, and eventually it can become its own parish. If you look at the history of Yigo parish, that's how it began as well - at first a chapel associated with the parish of Santa Barbara the early 1900s.

The reason it is only open for Sunday Mass and Saturday Anticipated is due to the fact that there isn't a priest formally assigned there. The priests from OLOL need to head there. Before it was Father Bushu before he went on ministry.

    1. I have a relative who is in the Way and close to one of the newly ordained priests. She told me that he said that it makes him cringe when she calls him "Father". Said it feels weird to hear her call him that. Makes me wonder how could he have been ordained and question how ready was he to take on this role. It seems that the role of the priest is diminished within the Neo communities. Perhaps this is why AAA was so drawn to it--he could take a back-seat to being a leader, he could be told what to do and avoid critical thinking. Be a puppet for once and not a master!

  17. Note. I edited the following comment and took out the part about a certain priest and his motivations:

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "SANTA ANA":

Santa Bernadita Chapel has a NEO community under the leadership of Joe and Terry Cruz, they are cousins of Bally Ball Adrian Cristobal. It is used every week for their gathering, if you pass by Wednesday and Saturday night, the NEO bumps are there. ----------------------------------. Lets set the record straight, its not only the faithful of Yigo that fundraised to built the new chapel, its the died hard Agafa Gumas residence who took the lead (Atalig, Manibusan, Lizama, Cruz, Matanane families and many others). Triple AAA promised during the Santa Bernadita feasta mass 5 yrs ago that the chapel will be a parish that is why the same families again work so hard to built an extension for the priest residence and office space. Up to now, nothing has happened since he promised its going to be 6 yrs.

  20. At 11:59 Thank you. As a parishioner of Agat, since Fr. Jose ALBERTO Rodriguez Salamanca took over a year ago, many changes were made by him. If you want to receive the Sacrament of reconciliation (Confession), you will have to look for him and if he is available he will see you. He no longer holds first Saturday evening Mass at 4 p.m. INSTEAD have 7 p.m. NEO gathering at the Chapel - which we donated $$ for. Additionally, ONLY installed lectors will be allowed to read at any event such as funerals, weddings, etc.. SO any of my family member will NOT be allowed to read at such event(s), if any. I continue to pray for Fr Alberto, and AAA. Even Fr. Jason Granado (previous pastor) was Neo(graduate of RMS), but still LISTENED to and was ALWAYS there for ALL. 1. Wow. Accusations against Fr. Dan Ferrandiz, too? Interesting, intriguing. Do tell.

Actually, I would like to use this opportunity to offer a prayer for all our priests:

      A PRAYER FOR PRIESTS

      John Cardinal O'Connor

Lord Jesus, we your people pray to You for our priests. You have given them to us for OUR needs. We pray for them in THEIR needs.

We know that You have made them priests in the likeness of your own priesthood. You have consecrated them, set them aside, annointed them, filled them with the Holy Spirit, appointed them to teach, to preach, to minister, to console, to forgive, and to feed us with Your Body and Blood.

Yet we know, too, that they are one with us and share our human weaknesses. We know too that they are tempted to sin and discouragement as are we, needing to be ministered to, as do we, to be consoled and forgiven, as do we. Indeed, we thank You for choosing them from among us, so that they understand us as we understand them, suffer with us and rejoice with us, worry with us and trust with us, share our beings, our lives, our faith.

We ask that You give them this day the gift You gave Your chosen ones on the way to Emmaus: Your presence in their hearts, Your holiness in their souls, Your joy in their spirits. And let them see You face to face in the breaking of the Eucharistic bread.

We pray to You, O Lord, through Mary the mother of all priests, for Your priests and for ours. Amen. March, 1995

Blessed Virgin, Santa Marian Kamalin, Refugee of Holy Love and Protectress of the Faith, pray for us all..
