Your Excellency:

In the same spirit of investigation with which Msgr. James Benavente was investigated by Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron, the undersigned members of the Archdiocese of Agana request the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples to investigate Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron and provide the people of this archdiocese with answers to the following. Until we receive these answers we will NOT contribute a single penny to any collection of any sort.

  1. Where does he get the money for his many travels?

  11. Who pays the utility bills at his private residence in Mangilao?
  12. Who stays there?
  13. How long do they stay?
  14. Is their stay in any way paid for by archdiocesan funds?
  15. How much does the archbishop collect for fiestas, Mass stipends, and other "favors"?
  16. How much cash has he received from the Korean lady and does he report it?

  27. Who selects these men for ordination and what is the criteria?
  28. Why is Archbishop Apuron's personal name listed on the Board of Guarantors for RMS instead of Archbishop of Agana so that the position will automatically be inherited by his successor?
  29. Why is Archbishop Apuron's personal name on so many properties that supposedly belong to the Archdiocese of Agana?
  30. What is the relationship between Archbishop Apuron and Sang Feng Construction?
  31. How much money has been given to Archbishop Apuron over the last 20 years by Kamalin Karidat, either for his personal use or for a cause other than what Kamalin Karidat is constituted to serve?

Lastly, we also hereby demand that Archbishop Apuron sign an affidavit stating that he NEVER improperly touched or solicited any sort of sexual interaction with another person either as a priest or a bishop.

Signed,

FED UP in the Archdiocese of Agana

P.S. We apologize about the public nature of this request. However, the recent discovery that the letter with the charges against Msgr. James Benavente is also an insert in this weekends archdiocesan newspaper, demands that we respond publicly and immediately. We request your urgent action and we will do whatever we can to assist you.

  1. Right on! No more contributions OF ANY AMOUNT (not even a token $1.00) to any collection of any sort. This should include the Sunday collections. This is something we all can do and still remain anonymous. Vote with your pocketbook, people. That's something that will make even ROME sit up and take notice.

    1. So how do you expect the non-neo churches to survive? What's to become of Mangilao, Yona, Agana Heights, Talofofo, Toto and other parishes when the faithful stop donating? Please do not stop contributing, it is dangerous to the parishes that do not have the financial support of the Archdiocese, especially when most of the money is going to RMS.

    2. And how do you expect the "non-neo" churches to remain non-neo if you do? Your contributions are being siphoned off to RMS where they are manufacturing the neo presbyters to take over every parish just as fast as they can make them. The archbishop has shown that he has no other plan other than to break every parish himself. So it's just a matter of time. Withholding money is the only weapon left us. Take care of your priest if you want, but I'd rather attend Mass like the military out in a field rather than support this rabid agenda.

    3. To anon 10:22. Attend Mass at those churches and after Mass or at another time, speak with the priest. Ask him, what can I contribute to help THIS parish? You may be able to assist with some type of repair or maintenance. Donate gift cards or materials or your own labor. Maybe food donations. I think what all priests love to see is a full house- fill the pews of these churches. Let these priests know how much you appreciate them and pray for them. Pray for vocations in their order. You can fully support them without placing anything in the collection basket that must give x percent to the archdiocese.

As suggested last year when details of AAA's requirements for each parish's AAA (FKA CCA) "assessment" was revealed, WITHHOLD your cold hard cash which can be easily siphoned to RMS. Instead, WRITE checks to the utility companies and/or DONATE gift certificates for cleaning supplies, groceries, etc to support our NON-NCW parishes.

    5. What do I do about contributing to the cathedral parish? I used to contribute a lot to the utility bills to avoid money being siphoned off to the seminary. But when Msgr Benavente was fired I stopped all contributions. I feel guilty attending mass and giving nothing but, on the other hand, I don't want to reward the NCW for their brutal takeover of the parish. It took me years to feel a part of the cathedral parish and I can't start over in another parish.

  5. The Archbishop recently attended the election of the new officers for the Capuchins. This is rare and it is great to see him with his brothers again, not surrounded by the seminarians. Oh how I wish he hadn't become a bishop in the first place, he might have just been a great priest!

  6. To the corrupt money-changers at the Temple, Jesus lashed at them saying: "It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.

We the faithful of our local Catholic Church therefore, are not obligated to financially support nor contribute toward a corruption documented, witnessed and carried out by the hierarchy of our archdiocese; instead, we should continue being selective with how we support our Catholic Faith and Church on Guam by continuing to support and contribute towards our own parishes and other Catholic organizations, religious orders, and apostolates but, also continuing to request for transparency, thus confirming and assuring that our contributions remain in and benefit our parishes or go to legitimate Catholic entities and are not funneled to the hierarchy of this archdiocese and the hierarchy's support and enabling of kiko's thievery of our Catholic Church's finances, property and estate.

  12. Speaking of collections, can somebody with diocesan authority or knowledge please direct me and others on how to contribute to the non-neo related Catholic missions or ministries? I would still like to support our non-neo parishes, non-neo priests and their needs but I do not want any of it going to the NCW or their so-called seminary/seminarians. What I have done in the past was write a personal check out directly to my parish priest (not a NCW priest, of course) and put a note that he was to use it as needed. Was this the right thing to do? Is there a better way? Someone suggested to me that I could go directly to the pastoral office and ask that my contributions be directed to the needs of the church, such as for utilities, flowers, food, etc. I was also told to just contribute directly to my favorite Catholic charity but I am not so sure that they wouldn't just re-direct my funds to the archdiocese's "needs". Please help us to understand where we can safely give our "limosnas".

    ReplyDelete

    1. AAA has his hooks into the " limosnas" the way it is set up now. I think we need to be careful discussing this in the open because he and his minions will try to thwart our efforts. As AAA ramps up his Neo machine we can expect to see more bold and aggressive tactics to fund their operations.

    2. anon 12:52 - I know of a CB parishioner who writes her personal check directly to GPA to help with CB utilities. If you want to give a non-neo priest a donation/gift, write your check directly to the that priest. I know of many friends/relatives of the non-neo priest that will do it that way. I hope this will help you. God Bless!

      Anonymous (January 25, 2015 at 12:52 PM), I have no diocesan authority, but I do have some ideas as to how you can support Non-NCW causes. As I indicated above, you can support your Non-NCW parish by writing checks to the utility companies such as GPA and/or GWA to help pay the bills. By naming the appropriate agency as the Payee, you are ensuring that your funds are being used to help your parish;

You can also purchase gift certificates and/or gift cards to purchase items used for maintenance of the church or parish office You can work directly with the florist to ensure that there are fresh flowers. You can write checks to cover the costs of church supplies such as candles, communion wafers, communion wines, etc. You can give the Non-NCW priest gift certificates for car maintenance, haircuts, groceries, restaurants, etc.

There are many ways to support your Non-NCW parish — just REFRAIN FROM DONATING cold hard cash.
BTW: You can also support the Capuchins by driving up to the Friary and contributing to the Building Fund.

I hope I've provided enough ideas. God bless you!

    4. Mary Lou,

We need to go further than that. The utilities need to be cut off. Sorry to all the good priests, but the parishes need to really hurt financially. Like another commenter said, paying the parish needs directly, still frees up funds for AAA/NCW to take from the cookie jar. Please, withholding all forms of financial support to this Archdiocese is the quickest way to rid our churches of AAA and the disrespectful leeches he has imported to Guam.

  13. A donor's intent is inviolable even if the archbishop is the first one to violate it. The Church should honor the will of the donor. You may want to contact the Parish Council and ask if there are bills (electricity, water, subscriptions, groceries, cable, etc) that you can pay for. I do not know whether Payless has gift cards you can give to your priest for basic necessities. Be specific how you want your money spent - or better yet, get the monthly billing and pay for it yourself. Just a suggestion. If you give a check or cash, the parish may include it in the assessment mandate from the Chancery, which inevitable bleeds this into questionable neo expenses and rms upkeep. This administration is not to be trusted. They claim transparency but not for the big pot of the Archdiocese.

    ReplyDelete

  14. Archdiocese is not to be trusted. Do not donate to the Archbishop or any parish. Only give cash gift cards to non neo priests.

  16. to anonymous@ Jan. 25, 2:42 p.m.: A check to GPA can be used for any GPA account. How can we be sure it is not used for purposes (Apuron's, for example) other than the one intended? Remember who we're dealing with.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Unfortunately. even if we pay our favorite Non-Neo Parish Church's expenses directly (getting the GPA bill and even going to GPA ourselves to pay it, for example) only frees up the cash collections for Apuron to grab. I see no other way except to withhold any and all contributions until the Fools on the Hill (Apuron and company) are gone. Give to your favorite priest directly for him to use as he sees fit, if you want. But let us try to reduce the chances for any money to be taken by Apuron.

All the more reason to REFRAIN using cash in any transaction/donation to the parishes. If nobody puts cash into the collection basket or in Mass stipend envelopes — give cash DIRECTLY to your Non-NCW priest instead — there will be nothing for AAA to get his hands on.

      Spread the word.

  19. Each parish should set up a trust fund whose proceeds have restricted use. Everyone who wishes to contribute but not support the archdiocese can do so knowing their money can only be used for specific things. The drawback is that the Church property belongs to the archdiocese so Apuron pretty much has free reign to shut the doors of each church that doesn't supply him his quota. Nothing is sacred to him anymore. I guarantee he's already considered it. Why do you think he's sending his troops out this lent? Those parishes that don't support will feel his wrath! The writing is on the wall. This will come to blows before it's all over.
