MARI FLOR HERRERO: "BASHERS FALSELY ACCUSED APURON"

If you're wondering why I haven't responded to Ms. Herrero's op-ed in Saturday's PDN, it isn't just because of the storm, it's because it is so stupid it hardly deserves the dignity of a response. However, since I've had plenty of practice with The Diana, I always see "stupid" as an opportunity to educate. But rather than do it here. I have submitted my joyfully devastating critique to the PDN for publication. Such an opportunity Ms. Herrero, such an opportunity! And incredibly BAD TIMING on your part...which you soon shall see.

  1. It was an incredibly absurd op/ed that you almost had to feel sorry for the writer. Of course, when "Diana" posted on this "article" I burst out laughing and all sympathy went out the door for she wrote "The following was found in today's Pacific Daily News on the opinion page."

"Found?" You did not discover anything, this was totally orchestrated!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, these asinine letters to the editor and the blog posts of "Diana" are not really meant for us regular readers. The intended audience has always been the NCW communities as a method to affirm and perpetuate the narrative as given to them by Fr. Pius.

By the way, "Diana," Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf called, he wants his job back.

    1. I had run into Mari Flor a while back and she started telling me about how upset she was with Tommy Tanaka and the CCOG and how wrong they were. I in turn started telling her (without being mean hearted) about the fact that Mr. Tanaka and the CCOG had facts and were in fact correct. We went back and forth and I was truly trying to inform her with facts. She seemed honestly unable to believe what I was saying and that our facts are wrong. I kept telling her that there were actual documents to prove them true. She was very unhappy with our conversation and left the function. I truly think she is unaware of all the facts. I felt bad for upsetting her, but it was the truth.

    2. Don't feel bad. Facts and cults don't mix. However, I'm really glad for her opinion in the PDN. It opens up the door for our biggest bomb yet. We were going to drop it anyway, but it's always nice to have someone stupidly pave the way.

    3. When Msgr. Benavente was brutally ousted I was devastated and I happened to be at an event that included a lot of NCWs, Mari Flor (whom I didn't yet know) innocently asked me how I was. Usually I try to be polite around NCWs but I was so enraged about what had happened to Msgr. Benavente that I exclaimed, "The neocatechumenate way is destroying the Catholic Church." This nice lady exploded in rage ranting and raving how the NCW saved her life and how wonderful it was, on and on and on. So I can relate to what Sharon O'Mallan wrote above.

    6. Ok, I stand corrected that it should have been the "other shoe" but given the many, many evil acts of the Archbishop, I was thinking along the lines of a centipede or perhaps even a millipede. I have withdrawn my metaphor for the more accurate term that Tim uses, bombs! So I am waiting breathlessly for the next bomb. Tim, please go nuclear...

IN THE CONSECRATED LIFE AND ALL THE LAY FAITHFUL ON JESUS CHRIST AND THE PEOPLES OF OCEANIA: WALKING HIS WAY, TELLING HIS TRUTH, LIVING HIS LIFE

    JOANNES PAULUS PP. II
    New Ecclesial Movements
    47. One of the "signs of the times" for the Church in Oceania is the emergence of new ecclesial movements, which are another of the fruits of the Second Vatican Council. They offer a powerful stimulus and support to Catholics of all ages in the attempt to live the life of discipleship more intensely. Some of them are also producing a good number of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life; and this is cause for great gratitude. Through these ecclesial movements, many Catholics are discovering Christ at a new depth, and this experience enables them to remain faithful in the cultural context of the day, whatever the difficulties. As these movements help people to grow in their Christian life, they bring to the Church many gifts of holiness and service.(154) Welcoming these movements as signs of the Holy Spirit at work in the Church, the Synod Fathers asked that they work within the structures of the local Churches in order to help build up the communio of the Diocese in which they find themselves. The local Bishop should "exercise his pastoral judgment in welcoming and guiding them, while asking them to respect the pastoral strategy of the Diocese".(155)

    1. Yes, this statement is very Vatican-ish. Saying good and encouraging things and at the same time including a warning. He is telling us how to recognize the authentic work of the Holy Spirit:

"that they work within the structures of the local Churches in order to help build up the communio of the Diocese in which they find themselves."

Obviously, the very opposite is happening here.

      Also:

The local Bishop should "exercise his pastoral judgment in welcoming and guiding them, while asking them to respect the pastoral strategy of the Diocese".

A big LOL on that! "Pastoral judgement"? Really? When he submits every decision to Pius!

  5. @10:35PM, please review the letter written to the Archbishop by the donors and reflect on the words "Ill at ease"; "because it is not true"; " the letter you drafted"; no knowledge of NCW, Etc.

Now ask yourself the question: How many times must the Archbishop drop a bomb or the shoes of the NCW hierarchy by lying to us?

  6. OMG to the nth degree! How did Academy of Our Lady High School manage to pull off not having the blight of apuron and his flowing fuschia cape and derby hat at their graduation last night? Hmmm, wondering whether Academy gave him the customary++ "envelope" for him to to stay away so that the graduation will focus on the graduates who truly deserve recognition for their hard work, and not the controversial presence of a puppet bishop. Grads and parents were truly blessed to be spared the ubiquitous "elephant in the room who dares not address pressing church issues but like to pose as a pop tart" with our children. Am I the only one who notices how comical yet ironic that he sits in all his affectatious glory while bombs big and small (and the occasional shoe) fall around him? Is he not concerned someday one incendiary will find its target?

    1. Diana knows the truth but she continues to play mind games to maintain control over the lesser neo goats who can't think for themselves. Faithful Catholics follow Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The NCW follow Kiko.

    4. Diana should ask AAA for the complete letter. If he can't or denies that he did not write the letter, then try requesting it from Tim.

      Delete
    5. Diana can get an original copy of the full letter, signed and everything from her editor, Pius. In fact, this is one of the times Apuron didn't listen to Pius and he should have. When Apuron sent the first letter assuring TDR that the title to the property was still in the name of AOA, Pius quizzed him about why he was sending it. Pius thought it was a stupid thing to do. However, Apuron, because he is so paranoid, needed to have some strokes from TDR, so he sent it anyway. Pius saw the response from TDR and is probably furious with Apuron, especially now that I put its contents on this blog. But more importantly, Archbishops Hon and Krebs have copies.

Some time ago, Tommy Tanaka had written AN OPEN LETTER TO THE ARCHBISHOP requesting for the Archbishop’s resignation. It was posted on this website. I second that motion. All those in favor, say it, write it, and sign it with a resounding “AYE”!

      Dear Archbishop Apuron –

Having written to you personally on two different occasions, requesting you to please begin to take the necessary measures to bring healing to our Church, and outlining to you what needs to happen to effectuate TRUE HEALING and TRUE RECONCILIATION, and all without a response from you - [Even Archbishop Martin Krebs, our Papal Nuncio, to whom I had copied my letters and who, I am sure, has as much a busy schedule as yours, has taken the time out to acknowledge my letters] - I feel compelled to do this ultimate act.

Though I am a member of the CCOG, I am not writing you this third letter as a member of CCOG, but rather in my own name. I think it is due time for others as well to shed their anonymity, come out in the open, and bluntly say what is on their minds, and put a name to the message.

While all the other things you had done (or failed to do) are truly egregious by their own merits, this most recent revelation that you had tried to get the donor of the RMS to alter his/her original intent for donating money to pay off the loan for the seminary property – and the donor’s refusal to sign off on the letter you had prepared, because to do so would be a lie – is EXTREMELY SERIOUS, EMBARASSING, SCANDALOUS, and SINFUL, and is most unbefitting for a righteous person – much more for a person of your high position, caliber and esteem in the Church.

For me, this is the proverbial “last straw that breaks the camel’s back”. The vast majority of people feel that we have reached “the point of no return with you”. A few of us continue to hope that there might be a glimmer of a miracle that like Saul who had persecuted Christ through his persecution of the early Christians was miraculously turned into the most ardent Defender of the Faith, and became St. Paul, the Apostle of the Gentiles, a similar miracle might happen with you – notwithstanding that the facts, however, do not seem to support this hope.

Because you appear to be neither able to nor are willing, to bring healing to our Church, I, therefore - as a member of the People of God, and as a member of the Mystical Body of Christ, and on behalf of the thousands of Roman Catholics who subscribe to sentiments like mine, and in pursuant to Canon 212,§§2-3, WE REQUEST FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION AS ARCHBISHOP OF THE ARDHDIOCESE OF AGANA – WE REQUEST THAT YOU STEP DOWN, AND MAKE ROOM FOR ROME TO DESIGNATE A BISHOP WHO CAN AND WILL SHEPHERD THE FLOCK BACK TO THE ONE TRUE FOLD.

WE ARE NOT SPECIFYING ANY TIME FRAME FOR YOU TO RESIGN – WE ARE ASKING THAT YOU DO SO RIGHT WAY – NOT AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE, BUT RIGHT AWAY, AS MAY BE CANONICALLY ALLOWED AND PRESCRIBED.

      Respectfully,
      Joe R. San Agustin,
Parishioner of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church
(Adapted from my original letter to shorten for JW submission).

  8. Can some one confirm this about the Pontifical Council's standing on the RMS property.

    AnonymousMay 19, 2015 at 2:27 PM

Please explain what the Pontifical Council said.

    DianaMay 19, 2015 at 2:59 PM

According to what was published in the Umatuna:

The Pontifical Council for the Interpretation of Legislative Texts, which his the highest authority in the Catholic Church for interpreting the laws of the Church, was asked to provide a ruling on the land, building and title of the present Redemptoris Mater Seminary.

The Pontifical Council concluded that there was no alienation of the property even if the Archbishop transferred the title of the property to the RMS Corporation because "based on what has been said, it seems...devoid of truth to speak of sale or alienation of a diocesan patrimony in this context...it is also clear that the present assignment of this patrimony to the Seminary does not make it a real" alienation because the owner remains the same, namely the diocese or the Archbishop." 1. We can't confirm because the archbishop is not permitting public inspection of the documents. We have to take his word for it. LOL.

However, neither the Vatican nor the expensive Denver law firm has any jurisdiction to opine about a Guam real estate transaction. Only a law firm licensed to do business on Guam can do that. And that is the reason Apuron did NOT seek the opinion of a local firm. But stay tuned for the rest of THAT story!

    1. Many are beyond "request"!!! He needs to be ousted and kicked out - literally. Why does the Vatican wait until it gets ugly? Just because they are used to have blood in their hands does not mean they have to lead us to it for them to act decisively and swiftly. This diplomacy standoff is to the dogs. The Vatican has the luxury of time, we don't. Just throw out this apuron so we can get on with our lives.

Anonymous (May 19, 2015 at 4:28 PM), a petition requesting AAA to resign will be nothing but a waste of time and effort since he is content to sit in smug silence with "The Diana" spinning all kinds of delusional tales to cover his @$$, counting that his peers in Rome's Old Boys' Club will continue to drag their collective feet in taking any action against him.

In the meantime, STOP THE MONEY and ATTEND CCOG MEETINGS (and bring a friend or two). Believe it or not, there are still too many people who are living in blissful ignorance about what is going on!

Tim at 9:55 AM, maybe the CCOG could run Tom's letter as an ad for the general public to see. Although a lot of people read JungleWatch, there are still so many who rely on the newspaper and/or word of mouth to keep them informed. I run into so many people who say "I just don't have enough time to keep up with JungleWatch (or attend the CCOG meetings). Just tell me what's going on." I try but of course I know there are a lot of gaps left.
