ADRIAN'S PATHETIC RANT ON EILEEN

My comments in red.
Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "ATIENZA'S ATTACK ON YOU, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR CULTURE...":
Poor Eileen. I feel sorry for you because you accuse Mr. Atienza of not providing the source of his information in which he did. Tim just left that portion out.

LOL. Adrian. Then I guess Atienza lied when he told Eileen: "My ethical code forces me to maintain the anonymity of my informants and I assume personally any mistake of the article."

So much for "sources. In fact, Atienza admits that he was only guessing:  "...academic research in anthropology works with hypothesis and generalizations that are exposed to be discussed and change if they are mistaken."
It is possible that there could have been a mix up in the translation of the line on the casket being open until the end of Mass. Remember that english is not his first language and this could have been overlooked and hopefully Mr. Atienza will explain to you more. This publication was probably also proofed by other professors at the MARC whom are spanish speaking also.
LOL. Adrian. Ummm, then what's a guy who can't speak English doing teaching at an English speaking institution of higher learning and publishing supposedly scholarly papers and not even having them proofed by people who speak English? LOL. Of course we know why. He's not here to teach at UOG. He's here to proselytize for the Kiko-catechumenal Way. How stupid that you try to excuse this on bad English. You incriminate him. Does the UOG admin know he can't speak English well enough to be teaching our students? If he can make mistakes like this in his publications perhaps he is making mistakes in reading and grading students' papers! What a joke, Adrian. What a joke!
This publication does bring to light the reality of what we have come to on Guam. What may have started as a form of inafamaolek has turned into reciprocity. It is very true and do not deny the fact that often we only attend funerals of those who have visited us during our moments of loss or celebrations. Remember the notebook of the ika or chenchule that every family has. Why do we keep notes of Names and Amounts? If this aint what is happening then you are in denial or my elders just taught me wrong. If you argue that the chamorro culture teaches us to help one another then why are the poor less attended to over the rich. Why did that poor old lady have so little people at her funeral while the rich educated old man have never ending lines at his? You tell me. The chamorro culture is both inafamaolek and reciprocal.
Ummm, Adrian, how many years have you been a priest on Guam? Nearly 30 or more. And if this  is the problem you say it is and you did not address it then you just incriminated yourself and Apuron and all the other bozos who hide behind Kiko's skirt. So we need a freaking kiko-missionary to do your job? Fine, how about we just get rid of you then?!
In regards to the rosary. You know very well that we were never educated as to the importance of the Holy Rosary. We only knew that it was from Mother Mary and we should pray it for the dead, in the morning, at night and when the earth shakes. You know this is true. This is not your fault. Guam is so Marian in devotion that the Dec. 8 procession is attended in multitude but of those people who attend the procession, how many actually fulfilled the obligation of Mass for that day? It would probably be less than half because not only do they not know that it is the Feast of the Immaculate Concepcion they probably dont even know that it is a Holy Day of obligation. To most it is Santa Marian Kamalen Day. Now, I thought Mary always points us to her son Jesus. I think most have stopped at Mary.
Holy Smokes, Adrian. Talk about damning yourself! I'm beginning to wonder if you really did graduate from summer school after all. 30 years a priest and you never educated anyone on the importance of the meaning of the rosary or why you pray for the dead? You describe a diocese with no real faith and only Marian superstition. LOL. If that's not a reason to get rid of you and Apuron then nothing is. You jokers have been running this place for 30 years and all you can do is perpetuate what you apparently believe is a superstition?? And so now we need the land-stealing Kiko's to come in and do what you were supposed to be doing but you were too busy playing - well who knows what you've been playing.
And you argue that we dont need an adult catechesis. It is very evident that we do and this is why the NCW is here. Stop denying it.
-Jokers Wild
SIGH. So thirty years of you and Apuron and we need "adult catechesis." No, you idiot. What we need is adults in the chancery. Go back to your playpen.

P.S. Rome, if you need proof this is Adrian, just let me know.

  1. Adrian's justification for David is that his language is bad, and so are the proof readers at MARC. They're all Spanish speakers. What a laugh.

But you know what? It sounds very similar to the garbage that flows from Diana.
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

    1. Just to add to Janet's comment -

You've got to be kidding me. The faculty at MARC are Spanish speakers? Joker's Wild, who the hell are you trying to fool? Before you open your mouth, look up the facts. A simple visit to the UOG website would've given you the list of the MARC faculty. If you're going to argue that it's "not updated" and somehow UOG miraculously hired only Spanish speakers at MARC, you could've also checked the university's staffing pattern (a document that lists all employees at a government agency, whether autonomous or not, which is published after every quarter of the fiscal year, as mandated by pubic law), to double-check who's at the department. As a Spring 2012 grad of UOG, I can confirm these people have a strong command of the English language. On top of that...MARC is ACROSS the ENGLISH BUILDING. So you're saying that Atienza couldn't have just WALKED next door from his anthropology office at HSS to the EC building just to get his academic paper proofed? Or dare travel across the MARC office to the EC building?

And I could've sworn that "email" was still a viable communication tool...

Sounds like you're trying to shift his lack of common sense on the university. Nice try, idiot.

  2. Adrian,
Ponetero, You went to seminary, took all those theology classes, religious education classes and you dont know the difference between Praying the rosary and the preeminence or prominnance of Holy Mass? Just in case you were sleeping in class, let me remind you, Worship is given to God alone and is considered the highest level, and called Latria, Honor of Mary as prominant among all creatures and is refered to as Hyper dulia, honor given to the saints and angels is dulia.

How in heaven's name can you say that the NCW has come to Guam to tell us the truth about God. They them selves are very confuced and follow a man, their prophet Kiko, which you also subscribe to; Jesus is a sinner ? Not sure if they believe he is divine, or even believe in his sacrifice present in Holy Mass?, or the Sacraments as Dogmas in the Church ? You preach to us about you not knowing teaching about Mary, yet you let in the back door greater heretical teachings as I have mentioned above? You are either delusional or really laking sense, and if the latter, suggest you resign as you are indeed lacking in Theological knowledge required of a Priest.

  3. "And you argue that we dont need an adult catechesis. It is very evident that we do and this is why the NCW is here." So what kind of "Catechisis" has Tony and the other priest been providing for the last 50 years? Children's Catechesis? Whose fault is it that the people are not properly instructed? So you have a Spaniard, who does not speak or write English well, doing shoddy research and getting proofread by Spaniards who do not speak or write English well either, and they are supposed to point the way. Get your head out of your butt Joker and come up for air. BTW putting your real name to your comments will give you more credence. Try it some time.

  4. Jokers wild,
Contrary to what you believe we know and don’t know about our Marian devotion, We know that praying one million rosaries will never be as efficacious as attending one mass, simply since our prayers can never be compared to the efforts of Christ that are offered in Holy Mass.

The fact that many of our catholic believers confuse this teaching is simply an indication that church teachers and leaders (Bishops, Priest and Religious) of the faith have failed in catechizing the sheep that are entrusted to their care. Our bishop is not teaching, as he ought to be, his actions or examples are far from any semblance of gathering or building up, they are in fact dividing and tearing down. Those priest and deacons at the chancery who are also obligated to teach the truth about God are no different following in the footsteps of this bishop that they are obedient to.

Perhaps we should fix this trouble first, before you lecture us about improper doctrine, while our leaders run amuck with their self-serving interests and agendas. I believe our church leaders are lazy and so concerned about materialistic wealth and less concerned about their primary responsibility of teaching the faithful.

The NCW is the alternative of this lazy bishop’s and church leaders. The only problem is our church leaders don’t know the difference between truth and heretical teaching, and what this sect is introducing into the church is worse than what we are trying to fix.

  5. To "Jokers" Wild,
This is "poor Eileen" and if I am poor, then I hope I am "poor in spirit."
Know what that's all about, Adrian? If not, I urge you to read Thomas Dubay's "Happy Are You Poor."
Oh, you probably won't want to spend money from your meager salary to buy this book. Lucky for you that I have an extra copy. Shall I drop it off at the chancery office?
    Do let me know.
    Poorly,
    Eileen Benavente-Blas
    P. S. Adrian, do you mean "Joker's Wild," as in the "Joker is wild"? If so, do pay more attention to your punctuation.
"Jokers Wild" has the connotation of a bunch of jokers running about unrestrained. Well, I guess you and your neo cohorts are are bunch of jokers running about unrestrained in your attempt to co-opt our traditional Catholic faith.
    Poor Adrian, an archbishop wanna-be.

I hope your hearing is sharp as a bat's and that archbishop wanna-be Adrian aka Jokers Wild is not considered an episcopal candidate. Not now, not ever, Amen.

  7. Jokers Wild (aka poor Adrian archbishop wanna-be),
Have you read "Why Preach" by Peter John Cameron, O.P.?
In "Sacramentum Caritatis," Pope Benedict XVI stated "Given the importance of the Word of God, the quality of homilies needs to be improved."
I understand some of the priests ordained from Guam's RMS have difficulty with delivering a homily that is meaningful to and understood by the congregation.
I am willing to provide each priest with a copy of "Why Preach" at my own expense.
    How many should I order?

  8. the joker is arrogant and condescending.

so, disregarding the arrogance for a moment, the joker's points are: guam needs adult catechesis, and the neocats are the enlightened ones who will give it.

point 1 is probably true, but is there good data on prevalence and degree? if not, then whose fault is it that we don't even know how bad it is? answer: the bishop's.

at best, point 2 "dumps" the bishop's work onto a lay organization controlled by people who know or care next to nothing about guam and chamorro culture. whose fault is this? answer: the bishop's.

at worst, point 2 is dangerous in that, as we know, neocat teaching is problematic.

how about if the archbishop, assisted by his priests, did his job right to begin with, and does his job right today? teach, organize, inspire, proclaim, and live by example.

remember acts 6 about the role of the apostles: "we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."

    1. rey d,
Yes, our diocese is in need of adult catchesis. We cannot rely on our priests to address this problem. It's up to us. We can organize a Bible study or a reading group at the parish level. "Happy Are You Poor" is a great choice for a group to read and discuss.
We can get involved with RCIA at our parish.
I am working on a basic certificate in catechetics with The Catholic Distance University so that I may become active in adult catchesis.
