AND BY THE WAY....

STOP REFERRING TO YOURSELVES AS "TRADITIONAL CATHOLICS"!!!!!!!!!

The other people aren't Catholic. And by calling yourselves "Traditional Catholics" you legitimize them. You are CATHOLIC! No modifier. So stop it!

  1. It is an important distinction to me. Neos are trying to co-opt that.
Well, maybe I can say faithful Catholic.

    1. They have co-opted "that" when they force us to define ourselves as a Catholic with an adjective. "Faithful" Catholic would be better. "Traditional" has all sorts of problems. Most Catholic parishes rejected "traditional" Catholic practices years ago: tabernacles moved, communion rails destroyed, altars turned into tables, anyone can touch the host, lay persons in what used to be the "sanctuary". We'll have to address those problems down the road. For now WE are the Catholics. They are NON-CATHOLICS. And it is quite demonstrable. Catholics do not believe that Jesus is a sinner.

    3. He's not the archbishop. He said so himself. He is only Brother Tony.

He makes a lot of excellent points along the line of what Tim has been saying all along.

  3. i normally just say "Catholic." not even "Roman Catholic," even when talking about the eastern churches, in which case i'd say i'm a roman or latin rite Catholic.

depending on which group i'm referring to, i might describe the group as dissenting Catholics, separatist, or heretical.

but about us everyday people who just want to live our life in the Church as best we can, however imperfectly, i always just say Catholic.

    1. Best not to use Roman Catholic. That term was coined by an anti-Catholic named Lorraine Betcher who wrote the bible on anti-Catholicism that most protestant sects use. The title: ROMAN CATHOLICISM

    2. I will use "faithful Catholic."

    1. To the courageous anon at 1.36 and 1.37, the answer is obviously not you.
We do want to be Catholic, in fact we are claiming it on all roofs!!!
It is not a few cowardly peep squicks, like you, with your small minds and your foul mouth that are going to take that away from us.
Go back under the rocks you crawled out from. You have no arguments, no brain, and certainly no manners. You represent what Jesus and the Church has always despised.
Your passing on this earth will have no consequence of any kind, except for the pollution created in your vicinity.

    1. Oh...you mean the Kiko variety really does something like what you describe? Is it a required subject at your neo seminary? Is that actually an extra credit or an elective cooked up by your new rector, the grandiosely pompous Putrid Pius?

    2. 2:39 - WOW....if 52% of Catholics "quite", then it shows that Mr. Rhor's has more control of the Catholics than the Archbishop.

    3. 2:39 PM has to register at Webster's Book of Oddities, a new verb: QUITE. I guess it means "to stop being so stupid and actually mull the novelty of becoming literate".
