LAITY FORWARD!

Catholic Group Holds Another Protest During Archbishop Sermon

Guam - Another protest was held in front of the Agana Cathedral-Basilica over the weekend by the Laity Forward Movement.

The protesters gathered for their seventh protest in the last several months, expressing their frustration with Archbishop Anthony Apuron.

One of the organizers of yesterday’s protest, Lou Klitzkie, says they will continue to hold these prayer protest rallies until they get their voices heard.

"Our purpose today is to restore the two priests that have been fired by the archbishop. We want Father Paul Back as pastor of Santa Barbara Church. We want Msgr. James [Benavente] back as rector of the Archdiocese of Agana and the Catholic Cemeteries. We also don’t like the way the archbishop is having a lot of the neo-catechumenal presbyters in parishes. We don’t want anymore presbyters in our parishes," Klitzkie said.

Klitzkie also says that the group and many Catholics are calling for the return of the controversial Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Yona, which the Archdiocese has stated was never turned over to a third party.

  1. I recently ran across a quote from Pope Benedict XVI when he was Cardinal Ratzinger which I think thoroughly applies and describes the kind of "Shepherd" Archbishop Apuron has become.

"The words of the Bible and of the Church Fathers rang in my ears, those sharp condemnations of shepherds who are like mute dogs; in order to avoid conflicts, they let the poison spread. Peace is not the first civic duty, and a bishop whose only concern is not to have any problem and to gloss over as many conflicts as possible is an image I find repulsive." - Cardinal Ratzinger

I believe the vast majority of our Catholic Faithful have come to feel this way and the feeling of "repulsion" is likely to remain up util the time of his departure. It's a sad commentary for a bishop who could have acted differently and reconciled himself to his people.

  2. Dingbat justifies the cause of division below. This clearly goes against being a member of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. This cult should build their own church if they claim that they are not one with ours.

    Dear Anonymous at 2:25 pm,

    According to the Holy Bible:

Luke 12:51-53 Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. “Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

    1. Yes, I'm all for it. Let there be division between truth and lies, between false prophets and real ones, between orthodoxy and heresy, and between Apuron and his neo-cult and us. But then that means the "us" had better get busy smoking out the demons that let the beast in in the first place. Think about it.

  3. A warning to NEO Cult Prebyter Apuron as his soul will one day be judged, not here but in the after life...Luke 12: 57-59 'Why not judge for yourselves what is upright?

For example: when you are going to court with your opponent, make an effort to settle with him on the way, or he may drag you before the judge and the judge hand you over to the officer and the officer have you thrown into prison.

I tell you, you will not get out till you have paid the very last penny.'

    1. I don't think he cares, not even about that. He's been moaning to everyone about not caring any more. As usual he probably doesn't even know he's running his mouth. In fact, I believe he said he doesn't even care about the seminary. I've known this for awhile. He's nothing but a cardboard prop with a rubber stamp. The evil trio of Gennarini-Pius-Adrian run things. Everyone knows this. This is why Apuron said no one obeys him anymore except his dog.

  4. being back on island, i had to opportunity to look at and hear the "jubilee prayer" at the end of each Mass that i've attended. wow, y'all weren't kidding when you said it was rather lengthy. a few more pages, and it could have rivaled an apostolic exhortation.

reconciliation and mercy sound like empty words, when coming from the powers-that-be at the chancery, and especially when apuron has ignored all these calls from the laity.

    1. I decided during one of the jubilee prayer, I'd say The Lord's Prayer instead. I said "the perfect prayer" 10 times "before" the jubilee prayer was done. It reminds me of the proverb, beware the ones at the street corners who boast

  5. Brother Tony does not care about anyone or anything, but expects support from those he abandoned. His clergy and laity no longer obey him like dogs yet he continues to expect reverence. At the 9:30 mass, he ran to hide when he saw the protesters and media in front of the church. He now just wants to travel just like the "airport" bishops that Pope Francis says is prevalent in the Church. Everyone reading this should watch "Spotlight", now showing in theaters to see just how corrupt an archdiocese can become.
