Wood said the abuse was allowed to continue because victims “can’t speak as loudly as people in power.”
“That’s the tragedy of attempting to reveal what is happening to innocent people,” he said.
“They can be squashed but their lives have been irreparably damaged.”

2. The abuser is older and has power (authority) over the victim.
3. The victim is so traumatised he/she is unable to speak out for years. Some never speak.
4. Much time passes and statutes of limitation take effect.
5. The abuser is off the hook criminally and civilly. Case closed.
6. THE PERFECT CRIME.
