A NEED TO CLARIFY

This discrepancy has been bothering me so might as well clarify. The PDN reporter who wrote the story Despite Guam's Catholic church controversy, beliefs remain strong (Jun 13), wrote the following:
The protesters held signs and softly sang before they dispersed right after Hon acknowledged them at the front of the Cathedral steps. Protesters murmured their thanks at his arrival, and one man went to kiss Hon’s hand.
The characterization of the crowd dispersing after "Hon acknowledged them" gives the impression of sheepish protestors who were smoothly soothed into putting their signs away. I'm not sure why the author wrote this when the video posted with the same story clearly shows that the crowd did NOT disperse but went back to their picketing.

  1. Yup, it wasn't right after. Not very careful with choice of words. The protest invitation was up to 9:45am. Yes, the reporting could have been more accurate. Can we ask the reporter to explain his choice of words.

Actually, if memory serves me correctly the "reporter" for this particular article, Jojo Santo Tomas, has relatives who are members of the NeoCatechumenal Way and a nephew in "formation" in one of the Redemptoris Mater Seminaries which could account for the choice of words "dispersed right after Hon acknowledged them …" in an effort to minimize the effect of the protest.

It is also interesting to note that "reporter" Santo Tomas refers to "the 9 a.m. services." To clarify: The Holy Sacrifice of the MASS (NOT a "service") was scheduled for 9:30 AM, as it has been for decades, not "9 a.m." as reported.

Another interesting observation is that the same "reporter" Santo Tomas did not take the time to interview any of those present for the protest, opting instead to include quotes from people attending other Masses, including the 9:30 Mass at IHOM as well as the 11:30 "service" (BKA MASS) at the Cathedral-Basilica.

Was "reporter" Santo Tomas worried that those present at the protest would give less than stellar reviews about Apuron (BKA "Brother Tony" to the "reporter's" family)?

It is my opinion that "reporter" Jojo Santo Tomas deliberately chose the phrase "dispersed right after Hon acknowledged them …" to try to make the protest appear inconsequential.

    1. Pretty desperate grasp there, little coward. Questioning a reporters account is a lot different than Apuron's accusation of the media spreading malicious lies, isn't it. But when you are a pitiable, sniveling, piece of slime who hides under a rock, I guess we can't expect more now, can we. Bye. LMAO
