SAD TO SAY...

Senator, you are doing the right thing! Now, if only Hon up on the hill can do likewise and come forward to help the victims. Thank you Senator Aguon.

Back in 2010, some may remember that I was in a vicious public fight with Senator Frank Aguon over the status of pro-life legislation that was languishing in his committee. I was as relentless at hammering on this senator then as I am as relentless at hammering on Apuron now.

Even after Senator Aguon later publicly apologized for his role in not advancing that legislation, I continued to publicly hammer him, even calling him a LIAR, challenging him to put up or shut up.

Senator Aguon was able in the end to actually shut ME up - because he PUT up. He reintroduced the bill I had criticized him for holding up, fought against several members of his own party to pass it, and ultimately saw its passage and enactment into law despite the withering criticism of some major pro-abortion Democratic party players, including this one

Go here to review the history of Bill 195-32 and Senator Aguon's championing of legislation we should not have had to fight for: a law mandating normal medical care for newborn babies who survive failed abortions and lie writhing on the delivery table. (Before this law, it was legal to kill these born-alive children.)

I state this to show that I am no political party hack. I'll fight for or against anyone based on what they fight for or against, not because of their family name, party, or connections.

And it is with gratitude that I personally thank Senator Aguon for being the first public figure to PERSONALLY reach out to Apuron's victims and offer to help (not just pray for them). Sad to say, it should have been the new Apostolic Administrator.

  2. God Bless Senator's Frank Blas Jr. and Frank Aguon! I appeal to all the Senator's and the Governor to not delay the passage of this bill and to not add any "poison pills". Thank you for being "Silent No More!"

  3. Senators and Gov. Calvo, all eyes are focused on you to do the right thing. Failure to pass this powerful legislation will prove that this monster, in the guise as Guam's shepherd, was right when he threatened his victims after raping them "No one will believe you if you tell". Are you not going to let this evil man get away with his threats or are you going to help these victims find closure knowing that their abuser is punished for what he did. 35+ years has gone by and these victims continue to suffer. They suffer every time this rapist is out in public proclaiming that they are liars. Please let them have the opportunity to present their case in court so that true justice will be served. All eyes are on you now to do the right thing; if not for them, then do it for other victims out there that continue to suffer due to bullies like Anthony Sablan Apuron.

    1. Notice to all Senators, all those new candidates, Mayors and anyone running to be there to support this BILL. We will keep an eyes and if you are a non-supporter then forget about running as we the PEOPLE OF GUAM will not elect you at all.

  4. Everyone, not just senators and the Governor, should put themselves in the shoes of the sex abuse victims and their families. Think of the helplessness and guilt that would have enveloped you in the tuation wherein you discover someone you respected intending to abuse you and taking advantage of your trust. If you were a child then, would you not have been overwhelmed by shock and shame? What if your son comes home tonight, saying that the priest you have defended and supported just robbed your son's innocence while you who raised him made sure you protected him from predators? These survivors who lived to tell their stories are flesh and blood, are real and not "what ifs!"

Archbishop Hon is adamant in restoring serenity to our church, but we have to hear and see him making the right moves. I was floored when he said to me, "If the bishop was good to his people, would these accusations have been coming up right now after 40 or so years?" He seems to think that the allegations are happening because it was tied to the NCW issue, that people are accusing Apuron of child molestation just because they want him and the NCW out. In a way it is tied up and rolled into one but more importantly, the victims have verbally articulated what happened to them all these years. They are standing up for the Truth!!! Should the Church question the motives rather than reach out to victims? I believe church leadership has to approach this sutuation pastorally without any shred of skepticism but harnessing all their resources to reach out, to establish facts and to achieve healing,

    1. Thank you for shedding some light on the mystery of Archbishop Hon's silence.

That comment suggest that the "game plan" was preordained. Archbishop Hon please prove me wrong. Lifting the decree was a no brainer. The world is watching, waiting and wondering "How many more victims are there? St. Joan of Arc pray for us! St. Jude pray for the victim's healing! St. Peter pray for Rome's representative!
