PDN: WHAT WE KNOW...

What we know about the Vatican ruling against former Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron.

Guilty verdict upheld
The Tribunal of Second Instance made a decision on Feb. 7, 2019, upholding the verdict announced in March 2018 that found Apuron guilty.

What it means
Apuron is guilty of "delicts against the Sixth Commandment with minors." According to Archbishop Michael Jude Byrnes, that means Apuron is guilty of adultery, rape, breaking the rules of chastity and other serious crimes — essentially sexual abuse of minors. CONTINUED
