DEAR GUAM KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

Anonymous here has a request for information:

"....Ive been approached on numerous occasions to join the KofC, but I refuse because maybe its a local thing but I see no purpose in the KofC other than dressing up. If you have any real reason as to why someone should think about joining the KofC, please share."

  1. I cannot speak for the KOC, but I would like to state how un-Christian you are to mock another Catholic organization. What happened to that neo mantra of "I am no better than you?".

Do you work at the Chancery since you speak of a " memorandum has to be sent out to all groups associated with the Archdiocese and at the parish levels...."

I volunteer at my parish and I have never heard of or seen such a memo. Your statement regarding this procedure is a total farce. When CCD or Confirmation turns in funds, the money is turned in to be submitted into the Parish bank account. The Finance Council at the parish level does not submit anything to Rev and Tax since the parish is under the Archbishop of Agana as an exempt organization 501 (d).

Christian Mothers and KOC do not submit their funds collected into the parish coffers which is why they have their own tax exemption.

You need to get your facts straight. Or are you just trying to deflect again?

    1. This is what I cannot understand, Anon states that...

"how un-Christian you are to mock another Catholic organization. "

The last I heard and despite what you and others may feel, the NCW is a part of this Catholic Church that we belong to.

Just to make it clear to you, I was stating that the Archdiocese "should" I did not say "did" or "has done". Clear as a Bell!

My facts are straight.....However, I guess I could use better examples thats for sure, since Indeed I am no better than you.

I guess In my selfishness I struggle with todays Gospel, But this Sermon on the Mount in its entirety teaches me that I can only do this with God. Its reality though that it hurts to see people speak wrongly of something that has brought great joy to someone, something that has been an instrument of God to bring me out of the darkness, time and time again.

I would rather speak with a person one on one about our differences, but this blog exists and continues to hurt, and it is very hard to sit back and allow people to speak about things that they dont know about, or dont really understand. If you could only stop and count the amount of hate comments towards the NCW on this blog. Ive been monitoring this blog since the beggining, and other than a handful of people who may represent the NCW in a negative matter, most of the comments of this blog have no real bearing. Every now and then Tim supposes that he has a scandal to reveal. This is what hurts, and yes, in my pride I respond and sometimes it may come off as a counter attack but really its just me speaking with zeal about something that clearly is misunderstood.

I was once a big critic of the NCW. I heard this and that. See, God through the NCW came to me at a moment that was right. I needed something more. I was already involved in different ministries within the parish but it was not enough. I attended a catechesis and still there my pride was a problem, the first night I said to myself that this was not for me, it was to mediocre, it was a 101 of our catholic faith. I was above that, I considered myself to already have a Masters in Theology. I was lost.

As explained in the Statutes, The celebration of the Word and Eucharist on Saturdays plays an important role in the life of the community. I believe that there is no difference between any Mass that is celebrated, I believe that at the moment of consecration heaven is revealed. So the Mass with the community is just as good as all the other Masses that I attend during the week. The Celebration of the Word is where I receive that midweek strength to continue on til Mass on the weekend. Trying to survive from Sunday to Sunday alone is a very hard concept.

Understanding that the issue at hand and still unanswered is the way in which communion is consumed within the community everything on this blog then is deflecting from the issue. Sadly though I am not in any position to respond, defend or deny, or offer any solution, this is beyond me. Hope you understand.

      Peace!

    2. My apologies for misunderstanding you on the memo part, but your response is jusy a lot of testimony with no real answers. And it doesn't change the fact that your trash bags, collections, donations are unaccounted for.

If you are part of the church then adhere to accountability regulations. If you are a separate entity, regulate yourselves as such.

This blog has not deflected on any issues but brought them to light. Some from neos like you who can't resist to see what is being discussed now. It is so unfortunate that it has come to this and I think the Archbishop shoulders a lot of the blame.

I can appreciate your zeal and love for this new found movement, but those ends for you do not justify the means in which they have been achieved, and at so high a cost as the damaged reputation of Fr. Paul.

You mention the hate on this blog toward neos, but you failed to mention the venom the neos have spat out, especially at Tim and Chuck.

I hope in your eyes you can see that we all are brothers and sisters, neo or not. I agree that we need to pray for our local Church and most especially foe each other.

      God Bless,
      R. Camacho

    3. Specifically, how much is collected during the Rite of Renunciation of Idols as part of the 2nd Scrutiny? What is typically put into the trash bag during that ceremony? Does it appear on any parish ledgers? How much does the Archbishop get? How much of it is sent off-island and to whom?

    4. to Anon@5pm R. Camacho

Please accept my apologies too. I agree that we are all Catholic, the NCW may not be everyones cup of tea and I truly understand this. You said it best, "I am no better than you".

A vast majority of peoples concept of the NCW is based on the little information that they can obtain. Sadly, they are left with sketches and drawings and little snip bits of catechesis. If only they can approach a so called "catechist" for further explanation but they choose not to and instead go on assuming and creating their own interpretation.
Personally, I will not answer any questions pertaining to an experience of a celebration within the NCW. I have held this concept even before the NCW. I believe that in order to gain the most/best experience, one must enter it with an open mind.
So to keep an individual in suspense I do not tell them anything specific.

      To Mr. Chuck White:

I dont feel any answer will satisfy you. You are set in your judgements and misconceptions of the NCW. Clear as a Bell!

Your non-reply is consistent with empty verbosity. You say a lot but nothing about what is asked.
When you deny Mr. Chuck White, you thumb your nose at all of us. You stick out your tongue at transparency and you affirm why most have these concerns that you are far from being truthful.Don't kid yourself thinking that this is a crusade of only those who have provided their names contributing to this blog. Before JungleWatch, these issues existed. Even outside of Guam, similar issues with the neo exist. Your problem is not a personal issue with anyone, your dilemma is with being forthright and truthful.
I have experienced first hand, the manipulation and coercion of the neo. I was almost bullied into "submission" for asking questions and have witnessed aggressive reprimanding for a few who were caught skipping Saturdays to be with their true family. My resolve gave me the strength to know that something was not right and did not continue.
I know that people have given, and granted they may have given willingly (I use that term extremely loose), much has been received in these scrutinies by the neo.
You are only insulting your own soul thinking these are only mere outsider observations.

    6. Anon at 1:19 is correct. Mr. Chuck White will not be satisfied with "any" answer. Mr. Chuck White, and everyone else, will be satisfied with the truth.
      Crystal?

    7. Here is the only truth any of us need to know:

Pope Benedict XVI, January 12, 2006, to the leaders of the Neocatechumenal Way:

"I am sure you will attentively observe these norms that reflect what is provided for in the liturgical books approved by the Church." -

      Translation: "Please obey."

Letter to Pope Benedict from Kiko Argüello, Carmen Hernández, Fr. Mario Pezzi (five days later):

"We also wish to thank you for the benevolence, mercy, and goodness You have shown to those farthest away in allowing the moving of the sign of peace and in granting a period of two years for the adaptation of the manner of distributing the Communion of the Body and the Blood of the Lord: we have always shown to the many brothers who have emerged from hell, full of wounds and of self-loathing, that in the Holy Eucharist the Lord makes present his love, dying and rising for them; and not only that, but prepares a table, an eschatological banquet, which makes Heaven present and where He himself, full of love, has them sit down and comes to serve them: “He will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them” (Lk 12:37).
In this way, every time we celebrate the Eucharist we experience the power this sacrament has to draw them into the Passover of Christ, bringing them from sadness to joy, from darkness to light, from death to life… "

Translation: "We will not obey. You are wrong. We are right."

  2. To anonymous who says a vast majority of peoples concept of the NCW is based on little information.
I can tell you brother/sister that I have experienced the Way. First hand.
There is no apporaching a cathechist and asking questions. If asked a question they change the subject or tell you that "in due time" we will understand. This is typical. No answers because God will show us in time.
And to say you won't answer any questions about the Way is only reinforcing the idea that there is no transparency in it.

    1. Kiko teaches, "Remember, a catechumen is one who listens." ("Ricordate che catecumeno è colui che ascolta.") No questions, please.
