IT'S TIME FOR THIS - (w LINK TO AUDIO)

Most everything that has gone wrong in this archdiocese began here. Our opponents like to cast this off as something that happened a long time ago and should be discarded. We did. But they didn't. They took this as a rallying cry because here is where the Archbishop took sides: THEIRS. And so fortified with Archbishop Apuron clearly siding with them and against the rest of the church, they have marched on...getting everything they wanted. UNTIL NOW!

Here is the link to the audio.

  1. AAA and his two,friends on the hill are the cause of the disunity in this local church. No respect for the priests people, no respect for the Holy See. Archbishop Apuron is unable to lead this archdiocese.

  2. No respect for the cardinal no respect for the pope. Look at the words closel " I don't know what credential he has". AAA when he knows he is wrong underestimates the person. Archbisjop do you honestly think cardinal Artinze would have been prefect for the congregation if he was not suitable. Here we go again archbishop you have insulted priests and got away with it. Now your exposed. What a fake you are.

  9. Sounds very protestant in his argument. I think they give Constantine to much credit. Was he ever Pope? I mean come on.
    Isn't the mass a sacrifice, "the sacrifice", made present to us? In a sense, don't we renew the covenant every time we attend mass?
    Then in typical NCW fashion attack the Cardinal when his message in fact comes from the Pope, so he's actually attacking the Pope.
    And for all you NCW's who keeps telling us to conform to your protestant ways or leave, really? Who do you think is supporting your ass!?
    Majority of you don't even contribute to the parishes you claim to belong to. Neo in Yigo had nothing to do with meeting the quota.

  13. To AnonymousJune 26, 2014 at 4:41 PM. You see this is where your theology is very protestant. the "Eucharist" means thanksgiving. for what? for the sacrifice! Jesus said take and eat. Why because we must eat to fulfill the new covenant. The Mass is not about Paul's "community meal" but about Jesus command in John 6 to eat his flesh and drink his blood to have life, to eat the flesh of the Lamb, the SACRIFICE! of the new and eternal covenant.

    2. 5:37pm Thank you! That is the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church about what The Mass is! Kiko's, teachings (naturally) differs because kiko simply had to concoct an explanation of his own in order to start kiko's very own entrepreneural religion.

      Kiko cleverly developed and named it "the way" (short for the ncw) a movement to attract Uncatechized Catholic victims and wayward Catholic victims away from The Authentic Catholic Church; so, wouldn't "the way/kiko" NEED TO HAVE IOWN INVENTED EXPLANATION OF their own new/neo version of the mass?

      It quite obviously appears, then, that the Archbishop on KOLG that day was unsuccessfully attempting to legitimize a very distorted, kikoized -- and quite obviously on the verge of being a heretical --explanation of The Holy Sacrifice Of The Mass.

  25. Vatican had the final say but yet the Neo members (like the Archbishop) do not accept because it didn't come from Kiko himself. Archbishop is so full of himself that he even questioned the credentials of one of his superiors...who is not a member of the Way! If he can do this to someone with authority...what more to those under him! He's been brainwashed by this movement....so help him God!

    The Kikos did not want this letter to come out because its embarrassing! Imagine getting reprimanded by the Pope telling them to play by the rules or else!

    Seven years later....Kiko gets reminded again to play by the Church's rules! and the media picked up on this....and to this date....are still not obeying!

    Archbishop....you need to brush up on the CCC, CANON LAWS and GIRM....or you might get spanked too!

    YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD TO FOLLOW THE LITURGICAL BOOKS...NOT KIKOS BOOKS!

    MUST YOU BE REMINDED AGAIN!

    Vatican City, Jan 21, 2012 / 05:15 pm (CNA).- The Vatican’s approval of the Neocatechumenal Way’s forms of “celebration” only applies to non-liturgical prayers within their catechesis and not to the Mass or other liturgies of the Church.

    “With respect to the celebrations of the Holy Mass and the other liturgies of the Church,” communities of the Neocatechumenal Way must “follow the norms of the Church as indicated in the liturgical books – to do otherwise must be understood to be a liturgical abuse,” a Vatican official who requested anonymity told CNA on Jan. 21.

    Pope Benedict XVI met with around 7,000 members of the movement in the Vatican’s Paul VI audience hall on Jan. 20 for an annual event to send families to mission destinations worldwide.

    The invitation issued by the movement to bishops for yesterday’s event stated that “the purpose of this meeting is that His Holiness will sign a Decree from the Congregation of Divine Worship recognizing the full approval of the liturgies of the Neocatechumenal Way.”

    Instead, approval for the non-liturgical practices of the group came by way of another source. It was Pontifical Council for the Laity that issued a decree of approval – after having consulted the Congregation for Divine Worship – for those “celebrations” present in their Catechetical Directory.

    In this process “the Neocatechumenal Way obtained no new permissions whatsoever,” said the official, who is familiar with the approval process for prayers and liturgies.

    “Essentially, the Pontifical Council is only approving these things that are found in the Catechetical Directory of the Neocatechumenal Way, and in no way touches those things contained in the liturgical books.”

    He said that the decree served merely as an assurance that “there is nothing erroneous to the prayers that they use in the context of their catechetical sessions.”

    The Neocatechumenal Way was founded in 1964 in Spain by Francisco “Kiko” Argüello and Carmen Hernández. It draws its inspiration from the practices of the early Catholic Church, providing “post-baptismal” Christian formation in small, parish-based communities. The movement is present all over the world, and has an estimated membership of more than 1 million people.

    TO BE CONTINUED......

    ReplyDelete
  26. ...CONTINUATION

    Since its foundation, however, the group has been cautioned by the Vatican for inserting various novel practices into Masses organized by the movement. These include lay preaching, standing during Eucharistic Prayer, the reception of Holy Communion while sitting down, as well as the passing of the Most Precious Blood from person to person.

    “The Neocatechumenal Way has no such permission for any of these kinds of things,” said the Vatican official. He claimed that the Vatican still receives complaints about the group’s “non-compliance with the universal norms of liturgy.”

    He added that it should be clear that “yesterday’s decree has nothing to do with the widely seen liturgical innovations of the Neocatechumenal Way,” which “should be stopped immediately because they don't correspond to the law about the way the Mass and the sacraments are to be celebrated.”

    The only exceptions are two permissions granted which allow the group to move the sign of peace to before the presentation of the gifts and also to have communion under both kinds. Even these changes, though, still require the permission of the local bishop.

    “The Church’s liturgy is narrowly defined as the public worship of the Church” such as Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours, the official explained to CNA. Church norms for the liturgy, he said, are “found in the approved liturgical books and the Neocatechumenal Way is bound to observe these no differently than any other group within the Catholic Church.”

    What yesterday’s decree approved are “those things in the Directory not included in liturgical books,” which is “the equivalent of approving the prayers of, for example, the meetings of the Knights of Columbus or of a confraternity or perhaps of the prayers that a group like the Missionaries of Charity pray after Mass.”

    During Pope Benedict's meeting with the movement on Jan. 20, he praised them for helping “those who have already been baptized to rediscover the beauty of the life of faith, the joy of being Christian.”

    He also cited their statutes as he gave them guidelines for the celebration of the liturgy, saying that for members of the Neocatechumenal Way, “the progressive growth in faith of the individual and of the small community should promote their integration into the life of the greater ecclesial community, which finds its ordinary form in the liturgical celebration of the parish, in which and for which the Neocatechumenate is implemented.

    “But also during the way, it is important not to separate oneself from the parish community, and particularly in the celebration of the Eucharist which is the true place of universal unity, where the Lord embraces us in our various states of spiritual maturity and unites us in the one bread that makes us one body.”

    The Statutes of the Neocatechumenal Way were given approval by the Vatican in 2008, while its Catechetical Directory was approved two years later, after consultation with the
    Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

  27. All these postings about the next bishop are simply attempts to divert the discussion from Archbishop's renounciation of Cardinal Arinze's letter of instructions to kikos.

    Cardinal Arinze is a Papal appointee with the position and title: "Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments"; therefore, the message and instructions that Cardinal Arinze sends carries Papal weight! Why does Archbishop think he has the authority to ignore and denounce Cardinal Arinze?!

    ... and the kikos yell "disrespect! Disrespect of Archbishop" because we point out the Archbishop's own disregard AND disrespect of the Cardinal, thus a disrespect of the POPE? That is twisted!

  29. Father Adrian Cristobal is to be named Coadjutor Bishop of Agana? What are the odds that a priest from the NCW is chosen! We have been asking for a new bishop so that the mess in this archdiocese can be cleared up, but instead, they name another priest who is involved in the drama and loves to play "in the jungle!" If Rome is reading this, please send us a foreign bishop! We don't need a bishop from our island right now! We need someone to come in and clear things up! In the meantime, I pray the Pope and the Congregation for Bishops rethink their decision to appoint Father Adrian Cristobal as bishop. Rumor has it that he has been seeking this position. In the words of Cardinal Marc Ouellet, prefect for the Congregation of Bishops who cautioned that if a priest or a bishop aspires and maneuvers to be promoted to a prominent diocese, “it is better for him to stay where he is.”

It is considered imprudent to speak of a candidate prior to the wishes of the Holy Father informing the apostolic delegate of the particular country who will call the individual priest to meet with the apostolic delegate. To pre announce a priests name being investigated as a possible candidate is a violation of canon law. A pontifical secret is very important . It will slow down the process.

As I scrolled through the comments I was sorry to see so many "junk" comments have been included because, as Maria pointed out, it creates such a diversion from the REAL discussion, including but not limited to, the Archbishop's renunciation of Cardinal Arinze's letter as mentioned by Maria, but also:
    • His undocumented claim that “the RCIA really copied the modes or the methods of the Way and reduced it to a nine month program”;
    • His open disdain for members of his (nonNCW) clergy in his statement "… not many priests know how to run the RCIA program even today";
    • His contrasting the "FULNESS of the Easter Triduum" as observed by the NCW vs. how the nonNCW churches are "doing what is required by the universal church, WHICH IS FINE" (my emphases);
    • His reference to the NCW "celebration of the Eucharist AS OPPOSED TO a Mass" (my emphasis);
    • His claim that with the NCW “Whenever the Eucharist is celebrated it’s the FULNESS of the Church and the FULNESS of the Mass …”;
    • His disparaging comment of another movement “… it amazes me when they have the Cursillo … how fired they are … then immediately after that weekend they fizzle out …”
    • His consistent use of “WE” (and NOT in the royal sense) — “WE were granted two more years,” “WE were given permissions for variations,” “WE’RE spreading the word around,” “WE do not need to have natural methods of birth control,” etc.; and
    • His compartmentalizing his role as shepherd in response to the caller who said “You as the bishop should be shepherding your people” the Archbishop responded “That’s what I’m doing … the 9:30 Mass Sunday mornings especially” — really, Archbishop your shepherding is done at the 9:30 Sunday Mass and not at other times?

    Fr. Mike is to be commended for reframing the Archbishop’s words to try and mitigate the damage being done not just by his choice of words but also by the less-than-paternal tone he used on many callers. Fr. Mike consistently strived to keep the Archbishop’s image intact even though the listening audience realized that the Archbishop had made it clear to us that there are two factions in the Church — the NCW and the Non-NCW — and he had firmly aligned himself with the NCW.

    PS - On an entirely different note, I must admit that I find it funny that Anonymous (June 27 at 7:00 PM, 11:01PM and June 28 at 9:32 AM) is/are demanding to know the identities of Anonymous at 6:32PM, 9:19PM and 11:08 PM respectively.
