HE DID NOT!

In a statement released July 29, 2014, about his reasons for firing Monsignor James, Archbishop Apuron stated:

“I informed the Presbyteral Council, the College of Consultors and the Archdiocesan Finance Council about the situation, and they expressed support.”

According to these priests, members of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors, HE DID NOT!

Fr. Tom McGrath. S.J.
Fr. Jeff San Nicolas
Fr. Mike Crisostomo
Fr. Patrick Castro, OFMCap
Fr. Gus Gumataotao, OFMCap.

  1. No wonder Archie and his gang removed the Umatuna newspapers since he was repeating his lies. Glad to see those priests stand up and tell the truth.

  2. Tony baloney has finally reached new heights! We have come to expect his lies anytime he speaks. It just comes so natural for him that I really wonder if he even knows any more that he lies all the time.

But now he employs a new method of lying that reaches new proportions. So proficient at telling untruths that he now lies on other people's behalf. He has reached the point where he will now lie for his brother priests.

So advanced is his ability to lie we really are left with just one question.....
Did he learn this from Fr Pius, or Giuseppi, or perhaps Kiko himself.

Thanks once again for never failing to amaze your flock!

    1. AAA has lied in speech and letters for years. He lost contact with reality and hence now has no awareness of what is true and what is not. The honesty issue worsened when he joined the way.

  3. Is this "that letter" — a letter signed by five members of the Presbyteral Council and College of Consultors of the Archdiocese of Agaña ( and not by an attorney as I had thought) — which was stamped "Received" at 4:10 P.M. on 8 August 2014 and which prompted the frantic recall of the "wrong" first edition of the 10 August 2014 U Matuna Si Yu'os and the hurried printing of the "official" and "on record" of the second edition?

At this point, I doubt that Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron has any intention of issuing a "clarification" his (mis)statement, per the closing words of the letter, since it's just one of many misstatements — written and verbal — since 16 July 2013.

I hope you get permission to release the contents of "that letter" so we can understand what caused the panic the afternoon of Friday 8 August 2014 and forced the printing of the "official" and "on record" edition — sorry, but I just LOVE those words from the Note! LOL — of the 10 August 2014 U Matuna Si Yu'os along with the recall of the "wrong" edition.

I believe I'm just one of many "Inquiring Minds" who want to know …

    2. Anonymous (August 18, 2014 at 6:42 AM), according to the website of the Archdiocese of Agana found at http://www.aganaarch.org/diocesan-offices/consultative-groups/ the members are:

      • Presbyteral Council
Rev. Msgr. David C. Quitugua, JCD
      Rev. Fr. Adrian Cristobal
      Rev. Msgr. Brigido Arroyo
      Rev. Msgr. David I.A. Quitugua
Very Rev. Joseph English, O.F.M., Cap.
Rev. Fr. Jose “Lito” Antonio Abad
Rev. Fr. Patrick Castro, O.F.M., Cap.
      Rev. Fr. Jose Alberto Rodriguez
Rev. Fr. Agustin Gumataotao, O.F.M., Cap.
      Rev. Fr. Jeffrey San Nicolas
Rev. Fr. Thomas B. McGrath, S.J.

      • College of Consultors:
Rev. Msgr. David C. Quitugua, JCD
      Rev. Fr. Adrian Cristobal
      Rev. Msgr. Brigido U. Arroyo
Very Rev. Joseph English, O.F.M., Cap.
      Rev. Fr. Jose Alberto Rodriguez
Rev. Fr. Thomas B McGrath, S.J.
      Rev. Fr. Jeffrey San Nicolas

Although Fr. Michael Crisostomo is not listed on either the Presbyteral Council or the College of Consultors, I believe he might have signed the letter in his capacity as the President of the Association of Diocesan Clergy of the Archdiocese of Agana (ADCAA).

Anonymous at 7:53 AM/jes of chalan pago is correct — some of the other members are NCW presbyters. The other members may have been reluctant to affix their signatures, so I appalled Fathers Tom McGrath, S.J.; Jeff San Nicolas; Michael Crisostomo; Patrick Castro, OFM Cap; Gus Gumataotao, OFM Cap for their courage and resolve in going on record about this latest lie — sorry, but I have to call it the way I see it — from the Chancery.

  6. This is why APURON, QUITUGUA and CRISTOBAL are in the neo. They lied to us and now they can go to their neo community and they would listen to their echoes and everything will be alright. To me, they not only publicly lied to us, they destroyed the lives of the people who worked and serve the Hagatna Basilica. Now they all need to be removed. I cannot go to their masses and look at them. They are evil men.

  8. Just like the financial advisers who were compelled to defend their integrity in response to untruths promoted by the Chancery, these very credible clergy had no alternative but to clear the record to protect their reputations as well.
These prominent priests know that by remaining silent through a misguided notion of obedience, they would have been complicit in the false narrative released to the public.
Again, this begs the question, is the Archbishop really creating these blunders on his own, or is he being dictated by others, with no direct connections to Guam, into actions with little care as to who is left damaged in the wake?
Either way, it's his name being put to these releases with the false recounting. This letter should not be taken lightly.

Perhaps because this severely damages the credibility of those who released the original statement from the Chancery describing the events of Mnsgr Benavente's removal.

  13. To my recollection, the list of letters requesting some major retractions of releases coming from the Chancery include: the letter from Cardinal Tagle; the letter and subsequent press conference from the financial advisers of the Archdiocesan Development Group; and now this letter from a number of priest of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors.
We need to stop remaining anonymous and display our real concerns for our Archdiocese just like these men have!

How many more of these letters have to be presented, in which these men accredited with their names, before you're compelled to place your name to your comments?

    1. Jose M., thank you for refreshing our memories of past requests for retractions — including the one from Cardinal Tagle.

As someone who has been posting with my name — and being on the receiving end of threats and/or insults on "Diana's" blog — I'm with you 100%. It would be good to see a few more names — like yours and Gerald A. Taitano, for example — instead of strings of "Anonymous." Even posting with one's Confirmation name would be preferable than seeing all these "Anonymous" ones.

To those who post as "Anonymous" and then write their names at the end of their comments, please don't scroll all the way to "Anonymous" when you plan to submit your comment. Please:
      • STOP on "Name/URL" (it's right before the "Anonymous" box)
      • TYPE your name in the "Name" box (instead of at the end of your comment)
      • CLICK "Continue" and choose Publish (OR Preview if you want to check your spelling/grammar)

  15. Is it better to be a liar or to be disobedient? Something these neocrats need to ponder. They probably need to gather and overnight at a luxurious hotel, eat steak and lobster, then discuss if they should follow the three liars or be disobedient. I think their brains are so warped that they would follow the three liars than to burn in hell for being disobedient. So they can think they made the right decision and gather the next weekend at another luxurious hotel and eat more steak and lobster. Then they can also conclude that they made the right decision and think they are going straight to heaven.

  21. LIAR! Archbishop Anthony Apuron, you are a liar!

You lied and deliberately accused and misrepresented the facts about Msgr. James and handling of finances. You even spoke FOR Deloitte, a reputable firm and showed their findings in the wrong light. You are not allowed to publish their report by altering it to make it more favorable to you! It makes them look unprofessional and well, unreliable. So if one owns a high power firm such as that, wouldn’t they want to protect their business and their reputation? I wonder if they can sue you for that.

Now you lie, as you speak for priests? Our Guam priests that are not just seasoned, but intelligent and most importantly, honorable. These priests have been serving Guam for many years. They are trusted clergy and have shown their love their vocation and the people. We are at awe at the fearlessness of these priests and we will fervently pray for them, that you Archbishop Apuron would curb your accursed ways and refrain from inflicting any kind of pain and harm upon them.

We know what you are capable of! You may not do it all that soon, maybe not even this year, but your spitefulness knows no expiration date. You will try to harm these virtuous priests to avenge yourself and most especially, your neo obsession. Avenge what? I cannot say, for you do not have an ounce of decency left in you, by the virtues of your actions, Archbishop Apuron. Shame on you!

You Neo Leaders are not off the hook either- msgr david, fr. Adrian, fr. Pius etc. We know you are also behind all of the numerous transgressions by the Archbishop, because we know that you are up at his ears directing him. We are not fooled.

Please send this letter to Krebs and all authorities that can help Guam.

  28. At 490 lies, I think, the Arch has far reached his quota.

Even passing off someone else's writing as his own homily is a lie in itself. Never has he ever given any reference to the actual writer of his read "statements." He not once ever said, "this homily was written for me by...msgr. david or fr. adrian or fr. pius or kiko or some seminarian..."

We teach even our school children that plagiarism is a form of lying and is bad. There are deep repercussions to the plagiarist, once proven that they've lied in their work.

Jesus knows that the Arch has at least lied 491 times already and I believe that all these lies have been revealed to us, so that we can "Open our eyes...and..,see God's face" (from Jesse Manibusan, OCP).

God's truth is NOT with the NEOS and NOT with the ARCHBISHOP, MSGR. DAVID, FR. ADRIAN, FR. PIUS and all the other cathecists and leaders of this CULT!

  33. It's become clearer and clearer that our Archbishop is not just being influenced by someone or some others; but it is also quite obvious that he is tightly wrapped around their fingers and functioning not as our shepherd concerned about the spiritual welfare of the souls of his flock; not as the Catholic leader of our Archdiocese with an interest in the protection and the welfare of the future of the Catholic congregation and Catholic Church of Guam; and not even as the spiritual father and guide of the clergy entrusted to his care, but obviously, he is catering to and functioning as a puppet of certain individuals or entity and movement.

We cannot continue pretending not to notice; continue pretending we do not hear, nor continue pretending we aren't aware about these recent realities: the fact that two separate, very credible and reliable groups repudiated two major lies coming from the Archbishop, himself. These two separate repudiations (about two separate occurences) came first, from several competent professional and former archdiocesan finance committee members as a unified group and the second from faithful, trustworthy, responsible and long-time locally-respected Clergy also as a unified group!

Faithful Catholics: know that your voice is very important and that your voice really matters! Please advocate for the things you believe in! ... what is more important and more pressing than the protection and the preservation of our Catholic Faith -- OUR AUTHENTIC CATHOLIC FAITH AND CHURCH.
