I SUPPOSE YOU ARE RIGHT...BUT STILL...

  1. Luis, aka Fr. Luis, has been and still is under the strong clutches of Apuron and fellow Neos who have been his family and support since coming into the seminary over 10 years ago. After all these many years, do you really expect him to extricate himself from the NCW? He knows no other support system. Unless he somehow sees the light and becomes elightened to do the right thing and admit his wrongdoing, he will continue to be obedient to his Archbishop and Neo leaders who will shield him against the evil non-Neos and CCOG. I would be very surprised if he came forward on his own to accept the help and compassion of Non-Neos who would be more that willing to help him overcome his current ordeal. Please offer prayers to Fr. Luis asking the Holy Spirit to guide him in the right direction.
I suppose you're right. Fr. Luis really has nothing to gain by being honest with us. He is now free from having to live the dreaded double-life of a neo-presbyter and a pretend-diocesan pastor, a dilemma imposed on local RMS grads because Apuron 1) needed to pretend that RMS was a diocesan seminary ordaining "priests for Guam" in order to keep the money flowing, and 2) he wanted to push out all the real diocesans as fast as he could in order to punish us all - for many reasons.

Fr. Luis, like Wadeson - and many other priests who must hide, will be absorbed into the neo-underworld where he will be welcomed, feted, pampered, and swooned over, oh, and did I say forgiven? Afternoons by the pool, plenty to eat, a room with a view, and the thrill he'll give the young girls (and maybe some of the older ones) when he "shares his cross" in community.

Still, I'd like to think that he has it in him to transcend the ninnies that turned him into a pet.

Luis?

  1. So fr. Luis in Saipan? What about the investigation? Criminal charges and was able to leave? Idk really what is this? Pretty soon they'll be getting away with murder. Wow Tim what do we need to do? Meeting is one thing but what actions can we take to flush out the truth. We need to act now.

    1. Agree with your suggestion, Teri Untalan is calling for Rosaries in front of the Cathedral, what other suggestions do you have in mind? We do need to prod Rome to take action.

  2. Depends on police report. Important to know exactly what transpired for only then can the solutions be determined. At present it seems he removed an individual from school activities. For what reason was this? For what purpose was the car parked near ocean agat. he could have been studying mariene life corals of the ocean. It is important to determine exact words of the GPD report. My grandparents often parked car over looking ocean for picnics. We must remain open Luis was having a picnic . But we would still want to know why he took a student out of school hours. What the police observed , reported is essential for readers to know. There be a simple explanation but Fr. Luis should inform the Guam people. Also wondering if it was a picnic then why does AG office need to review it. Why would Anthony Apuron need to even accept his resignation? Was Luis forced to Resign in which case it is invalid resignation. We need to know facts. Let us hope soon our island will be given truth by our Archbishop.

    2. Yes, I often Park and enjoy what beauty we are blessed with. Yes, I like to be in a secluded area and listen to the ocean waves. But not with a priest when I'm supposed to be in school! Dear fr. Lewis, don't you know education is important? Well I suppose they were both teaching and learning..... about human anatomy..

Fr. Lewis was forced to resigned?! For sure... For sure...

  4. I don't know much about the law but the little that I do know is that once you've been arrested there is a legal proceeding that takes place, therefore even if Luis wanted to tell the truth, I believe he's probably not at liberty to do so at this time.

As much as we would like to know the truth I wholeheartedly believe we should not be so quick to speculate anything until the truth comes out in court. As for the people who say they want the truth so they can forgive him, my personal opinion is that it’s just a camouflage in pretending to be genuinely concerned, bottom line is people just want to hear the details because at this point this scandal has never been riper and juicer and people are basking in the misery of the accused which is counterproductive and has no valuable contributions, but I suppose to some people it’s a great conversation starter over the dinner table.

I too am guilty of speculating but was quickly reminded that everyone is entitled to get their day in court and it’s not my place to pass judgement on Luis so quickly. What’s the old saying “people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones”

I do believe we the people of Guam are very forgiving but it seems that we have already condemned Luis and have officially drawn our conclusions that he is guilty.

Additionally as the plot thickens, With all due respect, I find it appalling that Luis’s story and the actions of Bishop Camacho’s treatment to a particular priest back in the 90’s was brought into the mix. Luis is not responsible for Bishop Camacho so I’m not sure what that has to do with Luis except for the fact that he’s a Camacho and that to some people is like oil and water.

There's no secret that there is a GREAT DIVISION in our faith in Guam between the Catholics and the Neo that the Bishop and Fr. Pius introduced to Guam but that in itself should be on a separate forum. We should stay focused during this Lenten Season and concentrate on our family and faith. There’s so much hatred and turmoil in this world as it is.

    1. Hard to believe you're not an Apuron operative. Sort of smells of Apuron's "let's let the canonical process take it's course" which is what he told Fr. Paul when all the while he was still sitting on the file and Rome knew nothing about the case.

Luis will not have "his day in court" because there was no charge. There is no investigation by the AG for the same reason. The only reason the case went to the AG is because there was an arrest. All arrest cases go to the AG. There will be no investigation and no day in court.

The only thing left was to charge him with custodial interference but we since have learned that he was authorized to pick the girl up, so that has been dropped too.

So there's nothing. Nothing except the fact that he resigned. So there's something.

4.48am. The only appalling thing here is the appalling ways both bishop camacho and Archbishop Apuron have treated Catholic Priests. if these individuals had respected priests then many of the prwsent day issues would not be issues at all. What we have now is chasos and division caused because of dysfunctional relationships between bishops and priests. until we have bishop's appointed in the pacific ready to work at healing of division of the disasters caused by camacho and Apuron there cannot be healing and restoring of order and peace. They are the cause of the present crisis. When Rome appoints new bishops who work with priests with respect, justice and compassion healing will begin, which will return order peace to the Pacific. What we see today is the result of the great poverty of spirit inflicted on the islands by these two men of disaster.

    3. Just because he is not charged with a crime doesn't mean he is innocent.

      Delete
    4. The AG will determine if any law was violated. If no law was violated, then he is innocent. The only thing he was booked for was custodial interference. If the parents of the girl tell the AG that he was authorized to transport their daughter, then there no violation of the law and he is innocent.

Sexual relations or sexual contact is not a crime if both parties are above the age of consent and consent was given. So if the police have a statement from the girl that (if there was sexual contact) that it was consensual, then there is no crime and no charge.

Fr. Luis is innocent....under civil law.

Therefore, it would be unjust for the Archbishop not to restore his faculties and return him to active ministry.

      Delete

    5. In which case Fr. Luis camacho's faculties should immediately be restored and his position of Pastor be restored. There is no reason for Fr. Luis to offer a resignation.
Unless he does not wish to be a pastor. Not every priest wants to be a pastor of a parish. May be he would be suited to administrative work or teaching. However, he needs to be placed now with good priest mentors to guide him. It is obvious he needs further formation for the future.

    9. I agree with you Tim, but even if a consensual sexual act occurred between Fr. Luis and the 17 year-old female minor, the fact that Fr. Luis is a priest makes his behavior illicit according to church law and therefore this would subject him to appropriate disciplinary sanctions whatever that may be. My suspicion is that this occurred but unless this is actually revealed, nothing will result from this incident. It will be covered up and the so called cannonical investigation will disclose nothing.

  5. Apuron obviously re arranged a creative story here.Luis may be free but there is still something. There was an arrest, some kind of police report, leading to an offered resignation, which Apuron accepted. This did not happen as a result of a picnic. Something happened which led to the facts. Results can be re arranged, but the facts not. Fact remains. NCW priest can do what ever he wants and a situation be covered. But with Fr. Paul Monsignor James, the story was created to bring them down, and false words created to remove them. This is the problem in Archdiocese.
Luis is off the hook but there is certainly something.

    1. I would disagree. According to Guam Law, a 17 year old can't buy cigarettes or alcohol or vote, but they can legally consent to sexual relations at 16. Apparently Guam lawmakers don't believe that minors are capable of making mature decisions about tobacco, booze, or candidates, but are capable of making mature decisions about having sex.

      Delete
    2. And because 16 year olds are at the age of serial consent and using condoms is frowned upon on in the catholic church, this is why we end up with teenage pregnancy. Way to go, lawmakers. Please make the consent age higher.

As for Fr. Luis, it is a shame that there's nothing else but a petty slap on the wrist and his freedom from his resignation. Now he lives his life with everyone whispering when he passes by. Parents will hold on to their kids tighter. Neos will forgive, forgive, forgive. Even though AAA didn't advertise slanderous things about Lewis like he did with fr. Gofigan and fr. Benavente, fr. Lewis did so himself by turning in a resignation paper and hiding. Because now we are left using our imaginations. Let's be honest here. If he stays silenced forever, we already know the truth.

      Delete
    3. I support raising the age of consent on Guam to age 18 because typically in the U.S. a person who reaches 18 years of age is recognized as an adult and can enter into a contract, marry, vote, join the military, and give sexual consent. We need to revamp the existing Guam law to discourage older adults from preying on young people who are still developing emotionally, psychologically and intellectually. Young people are impressionable and naive which makes them highly vulnerable.

      Delete
    4. Great. Given this high profile case, now would be a good time to contact a senator to introduce a bill raising the age of consent. Please do so.

  7. Studying this case the parked car is not important . What is important is the matter of prudence.
Why would a priest even take the car to this location . Today we live in a world where priest's practice greater transparency to protect self. Glass doors on confession boxes, best to appear out in groups not alone or with one othe person. Concerning point here is lack of prudence on his behalf.
The case raises questions about the standard of priestly formation in this establishment. Clearly there is something amiss with products of rms. I do not see Fr. Richard Kidd or any priest from St.Patrick's seminary practicing a brand of magic around the Island. They quietly get on with life and ministry prudently acting. They do not make news headlines because they were well formed by a seminary not some Banana seminary invented to make numbers.

  8. What is disheartening is to continue to hear the garbage spewed out of some of the commentors about the NCW, why do you, people of God or are you , continue to bash those who chose to get into a deeper relationship with our good Lord. I happen to be a member of the NCW, was formally a member of the Guam Cursillo Movement, but I do not hear negative remarks about this movement, or for that matter many of the other's such as the Christian Mothers Association the Sacred Heart of Jesus etc. etc. I could not find the Joy the happiness that I have found now with the NCW, it is actually a great Charism, I too at one point and time frowned upon the Way without an inkling of knowing what it was about until I attended the Great Mission Sunday(s) and realized that this was a wonderful way to get more involved with my faith as a Catholic. Do not get me wrong because I still find myself struggling to become more Christian like, I still find myself a bit on the natural religious side. Instead we should be praying more and more during these trying times here in the living hell that we are all in, and more importantly during this Lenten season in which the evil one will find a way to corrupt any and all minds. I do not back Fr. Luis because he or I am in the Way but I back him because he too is like many of us , a HUMAN BEING ! he is a genuinely good soul, a good friend that I have grown to know over time. Father Luis, know this ! that my prayers and my family's prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. I close with this Token of Faith " The proof of love is in the works. Where love exists, it works great things. But when it ceases to act, it ceases to exist." Pope St. Gregory the Great.

    1. You don't hear negative things about the Cursillo or the Christian Mothers or whatever because they don't have their own seminaries, their own priests, their own "eucharist", their own theology, and a hierarchy which abuses and mistreats people and thinks nothing of stealing property.

You can do the "feel good" all you like, but if you consume the sacred host while seated and not immediately upon it being handed to you, you are participating in an illicit liturgy and you are outside the Catholic Church so long as you continue to do so.

Feel free to prove me wrong by simply showing me where it is permitted. This may seem like a small thing to you but it has been at the heart of the division from the beginning. Your different way of receiving communion is an expression of a different belief, a belief that Kiko has about the nature of the Eucharist. It doesn't matter that you personally don't know that or don't embrace that. it simply is. And your participation in it is a support of a different belief, and that different belief has led to all this hell because to survive, Kiko must leech off the real church.

      I'll be expecting your reply.

  9. And so what ! were you there when Jesus handed the bread/Eucharist to his disciples Tim? do you know for a fact that they were supposed to consume the Eucharist immediately after being handed it,the feel good thing, what's this supposed to mean ? to me you sound like a disciple of the Devil you and all those who choose to berate the NCW on this nothing but the devil''s disciples site ! What does having their own seminaries, priests, their own eucharist and a hierarchy have to do with the NCW, have you ever been to a men's weekend, are you a member of the Christian mothers association, are you a professor of theology, and to say "which abuses and mistreats people.".what people are you referring to ? Yes I can do the " feel good " all I like because I have found God, apparently you have not, in the NCW, illicit liturgy, outside the Catholic Church. So you mean to say that as an example, here after the war, you see photos of Mass celebrations being held out in the field, that the Mass celebrations are invalid, there is an altar, and everything else that is needed for the mass celebration. In the Catechism of the Catholic Church 1345-1355, 1408 it states this; The Eucharist unfolds in two great parts which together form one, single act of worship. The Liturgy of the word involves proclaiming and listening to the Word of God. The Liturgy of the Eucharist includes the presentation of the bread and wine, the prayer or the anaphora containing the words of consecration, and communion. I've not come across any citation in the COTCC that states we immediately have to consume the Eucharist or otherwise we are doing as you say participating in an illicit liturgy, who in the hell do you think you are HUH??? IF YOU ARE A CATHOLIC, WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO BASH THE NCW TIM ??? by the way the previously mentioned organizations do have to have some approval to be a valid organization or movement which I believe come from Rome, to me you fall under the definition of NIHIL OBSAT, an AETHEIST.

    3. melvin i was hoping you were a good neo, sent to save us from the fires of hell
fyi;google search; to consume/receive the Eucharist, one of thousands search results

Once the Minister of Communion has placed the Host onto your palm, step to the side and consume it immediately by taking it with the fingers of the lower hand and placing the Host in your mouth. It is not appropriate to take the Host with your mouth directly from your open palm

melvin; to me you fall under the definition of NIHIL OBSAT, an AETHEIST.
      now a word from your masters;
Kiko and Carmen ridicule the traditional practices of the Catholic Church: “the tabernacles, the Feast of Corpus Christi, the solemn expositions of the Blessed Sacrament, processions, adorations, genuflections, visits to the Blessed Sacrament, to think that by communion we put Jesus in our soul, thanksgiving after communion, private Masses without faithful (…) all these practices minimize the Eucharist and are far from the spirit of Easter.” But, what really is important for them?

“The most important thing does not consist in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, but in the Eucharist as it is the mystery of the Pasch (…). As God was present in the first Pasch, when the Hebrew fled from Egypt, so Jesus is present by his spirit, resurrected from the dead.”

To this unusual and strange definition of the Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, dangerously similar to the Protestant doctrine, let us quote the definition given by the Catechism of Saint Pius X:

“The Holy Eucharist is a sacrament in which, by the marvelous conversion of the whole substance of bread into the body of Jesus Christ, and that of wine into His Precious Blood, is contained truly, really and substantially, the Body, the Blood, the soul and Divinity of the same Lord Jesus Christ under the appearance of bread and wine.”

    4. At Melvin W. Quinene: I'd like to address the first part of your ad hominem abusive regarding legitimacy of Tim via your question; if Tim was there with our Lord at the last supper? Our Holy Father Pope Francis was not there either when Jesus handed the Eucharist to his disciples. Yet by his (Papal) Apostolic succession, that alone guarantees exactly that. Since the institution of the most holy Eucharist, the Catholic Church has also established, (via norms of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church), the strict rules in which the faithful may be directed, in order that they participate in the most reverent of ways, the Eucharist which is the source and summit of our faith, and the approved manner of the receiving of the Holy Eucharist. That Apostolic Succession frees us from any doubt as to where our Eucharist comes from. And being a Roman Catholic, adherence to Church Law is part of our Christian Duty and a Moral Obligation. So to answer your question, it is written. You can read it here at the Vatican's own website: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/ccdds/documents/rc_con_ccdds_doc_20040423_redemptionis-sacramentum_en.html

By the way, your use of the botched word "bread/Eucharist" after Jesus declares it his body and gives it to his disciples in Luke 22:19, is rather heretical. It is term which does not mean anything. Jesus took the bread and made it his body--that sentence there describes what has already been transubstantiated--changed to be his Body and Blood. And in like manner, the priest in persona Christi, acting as Christ himself prays over these gifts of bread and wine and is made both Body and Blood. John 6:55--"For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him...

Therefore, Jesus Himself is truly present in Divinity, Body and Blood in the Eucharist. Not in the "bread/Eucharist" which you have used in your ad hominem abusive.

Additionally, it should be understood that the receiving of the most Holy Eucharist, happens right after the Priest receives his: "2. The distribution of Holy Communion

[88.] The faithful should normally receive sacramental Communion of the Eucharist during Mass itself, at the moment laid down by the rite of celebration, that is to say, just after the Priest celebrant’s Communion.[172] It is the Priest celebrant’s responsibility to minister Communion, perhaps assisted by other Priests or Deacons; and he should not resume the Mass until after the Communion of the faithful is concluded. Only when there is a necessity may extraordinary ministers assist the Priest celebrant in accordance with the norm of law.[173]...

This language comes from the Vatican as well. There is no ulterior motive here, just an attempt to clarify and correct. I'm sure you can see the importance of adhering to the Law. But which one are you defending?

In closing, I too was not there. But I trust in the Apostolic tradition handed down through the centuries and being baptized into the Roman Catholic Faith. And from that, I can say I do believe all that she teaches: I believe in God and do pray to Mother Mary, the Saints and the Angels to get me closer to Jesus. And because the Church has rules to follow in order that I am able to receive Him in the way she sees befitting of a believer, then I am fine with that. In fact, after receiving the Sacrament of Confession, I too feel good. All that I know is I want to be with God in the end. And knowing that He has a Covenant with us, I therefore would very much want to learn about my faith as much possible, so that I too can be worthy to enter into paradise. Does this now make me a disciple of the devil?

P.S. Nihil Obstat does not mean atheist, or the other way around. Just so you know how to NOT use that word. It's usually reserved for publications coming out of the Church as being free from error. And since you are charging Tim with this definition, then yes, He is without error.

  10. Yes the definition of Nihil Obstat is an attestation that a book contains nothing damaging to the faith or morals of the Catholic Church. I may have come out a bit harsh but hey I am just as human as anyone else who posts' on this site. It's just wrong to continue to label the NCW, I find some comments offensive on my part. kudos to those of you who may know more of the Church law than I do and for giving clarification with regards to the distribution and consumption of the Eucharist. So I may have used a poor reference, with regards to the distribution of the Bread/Eucharist oh well never said I was perfect. I do not deny the existence of God so therefore am not an atheist, for me to have labeled Tim as such was inappropriate as well I suppose. The "I can see that we are just going to keep going around in circles here …" statement in the comment by Melvin W. Quinene (March 23, 2015 at 10:11 AM) echoes a recent post by "The Dianas" titled Going Around in Circles which includes the assertion "… we are only going around in circles and repeating the same things over and over. I have already given you the answers. Whether you believe it or not was never my problem. "

This "going around in circles" tendency by the NCW's reliance on circular reasoning evokes in my mind's eye the often comical obsessive compulsive behavior of dogs under stress chasing their tails.
