HOW SAD OUR MEN AREN'T AFFORDED THE SAME OPPORTUNITY

Agnes has left a new comment on your post "NOTE TO CARDINAL FILONI":

I recommend that all of you listen to Patti Arroyo's interview with Kyle Manglona on the K57 website. He is a Chamorro born and raised in Tacoma, Washington who is currently studying for the priesthood in Rome. He is visiting Guam for Easter. It is so refreshing to listen to a mature, intelligent and motivated seminarian who has had a solid seminary formation and comes from a solid, happy and healthy family background. Such a contrast with the products of our NCW "seminary" who spew immaturity and sordid details in their "testimonies" in our churches. When I listen to a seminarian like Kyle speak I feel like contributing. When I heard Gabe Camacho speak I regret I ever made donations to the RMS. Hopefully the archbishop has come to realize that having his NCW seminarians give testimonies has backfired and caused the faithful to close their purses and wallets.

  1. I had the chance to see him assist Fr. Karl at St. Anthony last night and he has a presence of a well-educated and well-trained seminarian. He definitely knew what he was doing.

    1. Definitely well trained and well educated. This is his second visit to Guam as a seminarian. He'll be ordained a deacon this summer.

  5. Where could one meet up with this young man who seems to exude the excellence of a product of a true priestly formation he seems to be getting, not to mention his very pleasant personality? What a whiff of fresh air. His bevy of priests friends in Guam seem to include both Neo and Non-Neo (Msgr James Benavente, Fr Paul Gofigan, Fr Richard Kidd, Fr Mike Crisostomo, Msgr Bibi, Msgr David "VG" Quitugua, and fellow seminarian Junee Valencia, and perhaps others). That, in itself, speaks volumes! What a contrast, indeed, is this man compared to the NCW priests and RMS seminarians here! A person of this charisma could well be the conduit to connect us to good Neos here in Guam. Kyle - can you help us out?

  7. Kyle and Junee are both present at St. Anthony's for the Holy Week liturgies. It's my understanding that the two of them have been good friends, along with Fr. Richard Kidd, for many years. They have a wonderful presence at the altar and are both kind and respectful in demeanor. Kyle also spoke during a recollection service offered to all involved in the liturgies at the parish for the weekend, and all were greatly impressed. Let's continue to prayer for Guam's sons who are being called to the priesthood and offer our support to these men and those like them!

    1. Junee needs to do the same thing Richard Kidd did to become a priest.

  8. Agree Tim Junee needs to get off island to begin formal studies. We can place him in a seminary under a temporary bishop in the Philippines until the sunshines on Guam. But obviously Junee has to want to do this.

That's where my forfeited Cathedral-Basilica is going to. Good move, Pale Eric! And I won't even ask for accountability. I trust the Friars. Fortes in Fide!

  11. sorry, mr taitano, but i can't help noting that there's one (former?) friar we can't trust, and he's the archbishop. but yes, do support vocations to the capuchins.
