THIS IS WHAT HEALING LOOKS LIKE

  1. Yes, lets start the healing. Pot fabot Obisbo. Our People are known for tight knit and loving. We need to do what is right and love one another.

  2. AAA could use the help of that Public Information Officer position advertised in the U Matuna. Where are David, Adrian, Alberto, Larry, and Marian hiding? Are they with Luis? LOL.

    1. Ad for Public Information Officer is telling us a lot. PIO knows how to spin an unfavorable situation to something favorable. Actually, they don't need a PIO, if they are just capable of telling the truth. Truth doesn't need a public information officer.

Congratulations to concerned Catholics for Guam and the 4,000 men and women of Good will who supported the ministry of CCOG. You are doing exactly what the Holy Father asked. Continue to work to bring justice and peace to your island community. There can be no justice on Guam until Anthony Apuron respects priests and people. Continue to work for justice for there can be no peace or love without Justice. To our Respected Apostolic Delegate Archbishop Martin Krebs and our beloved Holy Father we all give our total respect and obedience.

  4. Thank you CCOG, its leadership and the faithful, for making it very clear how the archbishop can begin the process of healing. If he is truly in charge then he shouldn't wait another day to make things right.

  5. PDN can use the front page side bar and put count up of days before AAA starts the real healing. They did reminders of when a school was to be completed, days of no air-conditioning at schools, GMH hospital bed situation..etc.

  6. How embarrassing it must be Archbishop to read this announcement in a daily paper.
This was faxed to every Vatican congregation and the residence of the Holy Father.
By the end of the day it will be faxed to the main Apostolic Nunciatures of the world including Kenya.

  8. I'm afraid the CCOG's published ad urging Apuron to start the healing by his actions is just a waste of time and money. He has never previously responded to any past request to come together with those who seek his support, guidance and leadership to bring about healing and reconciliation within our Church. This latest effort I believe will be a wasted one although I applaud CCOG's sincere desire to keep trying. I am of the belief that it is far too late for Apuron to turn matters around since he is far too much in the inescapable clutches of his NCW masters who dictate his actions. He has totally lost any sense of objectivity. Apuron believes that he is in the right and as long as his supportive Neo family reinforces this position, he will continue to function as if nothing is wrong. I truly believe that the only resolve to our great divide is to have Apuron removed as Archbishop either through his resignation or removal from Rome. Short of this, it seems that the true Catholic Faithful on Guam will just have to wait for his mandatory retirement in 5 years.

  9. Archbishop Apuron if you want to stop this then phone the people you have hurt meet with them and look for solutions to peace. if you truly focus on God and look to Heaven you will find
Solutions to the problems. There are more solutions in this world than problems. Everything is re-cycable including you.

    1. Well, 2.50pm how strange you raised this point it was recalled today. Archbishop Balvo received his copy of today's PDN. I'm sure he remembers Archbishop Apuron's comments about " deepest darkest Africa." But he is a tough New Yorker he be ok. There was in fact another Apostolic delegate colored who was offended by Apuron's African statement. Yes, he received his copy also. PDN CCOG add sent to all important Apostolic Nunciatures of the world.

  12. Ad for the Public Information Officer did not mention qualifications. Prospect(s) must be willing to lie, speak half-truths, deny, distract and ignore the truth and do whatever it takes to cover the asses of his or her employers. Low or No moral standards is a plus. In other words, someone very much like Apuron, Pius, David Quitugua the Vicar General, Adrian, Luis Camacho and company.

  13. Yes 2.01pm correct comment. It is too late for the decayed Archbishop of Guam to turn things around. You may even be correct he will gloriously reign on his Diana Vreeland throne for five more years. But every day for five more years as long as Tim Rohr gives us a platform we continue to bring to the attention of Rome one of the most vile, vicious, disgusting church leaders of this century.

    1. Just a note about the resignation of Bishop Finn of Kansas City. Don't get too excited about it. How he handled the sex abuse thing was no different than how most bishops did.

One of the headlines reads "Diocese didn't tell police about child porn for months." LOL. In LA, Roger Mahony didn't tell anyone about child molestation cases for years (until 2004 when he was forced to and is how Wadeson turns up), and Mahoney, other than having his hands slapped by his successor, is living it up in a high end Hollywood pad.

Finn's real crime was that he was an anti-abortion "theological conservative" who the liberal bishops have been trying to get rid of since 2004.

      http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/can-bishop-robert-finn-get-a-fair-hearing/

Mahony is famously a liberal who presided over freak Masses that would make the neo's blush.

Also, notice that Francis did not remove him. He resigned, and despite what be reported, the pressure didn't come from Francis, but from his fellow bishops who want to rid the conference of conservatives and want to hide their own crimes.

  20. Folks, I like the entertainment aspect of some barbs that amount to small nibbles and fanciful conjectures. My hope is that JW remains a substantive platform for the real deep issues. I understand the passion and emotional content behind some comments but let us keep it real. I see that Mr. Rohr does his very best to retain the credibility and factual content of JW and we have to help him disseminate the seriousness of our cause to the greater majority. He is trying his best to peel the convoluted layers of lies unleashed by an inept church leadership on Guam. We ought to follow that lead, and remain focused on the major issues, rather than scatter some untruths to dispute the innumerable lies that have assailed us because of apuron's greed and callous actions. To do the latter makes of us an image of the thing we hate the most.

  21. 8.12pm. Reflected upon comment. But you know what. Post Apuron I want him to remain on Guam to do his penance where he will be forever be reminded of the pain he caused the church. After his removal or retirement he must forever be reminded of the pain he caused so many. For sure until his final day or mine I will remind him of the pain he caused me.

  22. I agree with Anonymous @10:03 p.m. After Apuron is dethroned, let him stay on Guam where we can show him what we think of him -- by shunning him, ignoring his presence where ever he may have the nerve to show up, and not even calling him by his soon-to-be former title of Archbishop. Let us withdraw the famed welcome mat that Guam is famous for among foreign visitors and strangers, whenever he appears. That goes for all his cronies, too.

    1. Today respect is shown because he carries the office of Archbishop. As Catholics we respect the office even if not the person. However, once he no longer carries the office of Archbishop no ecclesial respect is due. His monarchy will no longer exist .
When he walks in the mall and people shun him that is when he will understand the damage he caused. Most hated former public figure on Giam.

  23. Additionally he does not deserve the right to be buried in the Agana Cathedral Basilica....These cripts are meant for spiritual leaders that followed Christ's request when he said to Saint Peter "Do you really love me.....then feed my lambs. We the lambs he was entrusted to shepherd were fed lies and deception throughout his 30+ Years as a bishop. Let his family use the money he embezzled on. Private plot outside Guams Catholic Cemetery. The current. Bishops buried in the CB sanctuary would not rest on peace knowing that a bishop that failed to live Christs calling to simply feed his lambs is resting next to them....

    1. Given 5 more years, AAA may decide to build a NCW cemetery or mausoleum, or designate part of the current catholic cemetery for that purpose, as is currently happening in Madrid, Spain. Separate in life as well as death.

  24. Everyone deserves forgiveness no matter what. Archbishop Apuron's penance is not to be done for public flogging or so that all wronged would have the satisfaction of knowing that he got his just desserts.

You all talk of shunning him, where he should be buried, or forever reminding him of his faults. Is this what Christ would call for? I am very much disappointed with Archbishop and his actions myself, but it isn't Christian to call for his blood or to rejoice in his folly.

Moreover, after all the dust settles, what then? I believe we should start with ourselves to become better Catholics by educating ourselves with Church teaching and passing this on to our children. How many of us believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist? How many of us go to Mass every Sunday, let alone volunteer in our parishes? How many of us can stand up in our workplaces to defend our faith? How many of us "shack up", use birth control, or have children we allow to shack up in our homes?

Archbishop Apuron brought the Neo because he wanted an answer to keep Catholics on Guam Catholic. By our actions, let us show him why we do not need the Neo. Let us begin by being the examples our children need to see.

    3. 8.44am. From studying comments I can see only two commenters with reference to burial. I'm sure even they at the end of the day would exercise compassion. The comments we read should be reflected upon. Many now show a very deep emotional hurt after association with the Archbishop. Archbishop damaged many people in particular priests he had the greatest power over. I do not yet know if the Archbishop is disturbed in his mind mental sickness, or it is something else. But for sure the church is divide, archbishop cannot lead, and we need change.

  25. To allow Bishop Apuron burial rights inside cathedral basilica would be his final insult to the People of this diocese. Cathedral is a place of prayer peace. To see his name inscribed in stone in the sanctuary becomes a constant reminder of him.

Point taken Tim; it wasn't all commentors who mentioned the burial thing, but nonetheless, conjecture like that reflects on us all and makes us seem as pea-brained as the ill-logical Kiko's.
