Eye of the Ylig News has confirmed that rumors that the name of Assumption of Our Lady Parish in Piti has been changed to "Our Lady of the Annunciation" are indeed true!
The rumors swirled among faithful Catholics on Guam this weekend after the island's Catholic newspaper, the "U Matuna Si Yu’os", published the New Years Eve and New Years Day Mass schedule for island parishes on page 6 of this weekend's edition:
A Chancery official, speaking under the condition of anonymity, later confirmed that, indeed the name of the parish had been changed. While no reason was supplied by the official for the change in name, when asked by an Eye of the Ylig reporter if parishioners had been consulted first, the official said, "For sure, for sure."
What another sad move by these Neos.
ReplyDeleteJust a note. The mistake is real. The "report" is satire. But once again, it shows the absolute carelessness of those now running our diocese.
ReplyDeleteha! anyone who's worked for the archdiocese a few months--especially the typist--would've caught that immediately. the same mistake appears in the Christmas schedule, which was in the dec 20 issue.

ReplyDeleteWhy would there be any "condition of anonymity" on a subject not requiring secrecy? If there was a need to change the name of the parish, for whatever reason, it should have been explained plain and simple in the Umatuna. Yet, on the other hand, this has been the standard operational procedure for this sham of Guam church leadership. If Chancery officials cannot own their decisions and have to look over their shoulders as if they might be slapped on the wrist for any "leakage" of chancery actions, why are they there at all? This culture of deny, deflect, blame someone else thay exists in the Archdiocese of Agana further frustrates faithful Catholics who are not accustomed to have officials brazenly lie to them. Apuron and his cohorts continue to betray the Truth which is the mandate of Christ, and the Catholic Church mission since its foundation. Why Guam church gets away with a puppet administration and its accompanying clandestine operations simply boggles the mind in this day and age.

We are assuming with this satirical post that the name change was a typical buffoon screw up, the likes of which we have become accustomed to seeing from this neo-cult administration. However, given the kind of crap they have pulled before, there's nothing to say that they really didn't change the name. Wouldn't be out of the question. Wonder what Kiko teaches about the Assumption of Mary?
DeleteAre these people real? Why don't they address if this was a screw up or just another edict by AAA without consultation with the Piti parishioners? What is going to happen to their annual fiesta? They would have to change their statue and replace it with what? Worst of all AAA has not made a move to clarify what is happening. I suggest that mayor ben and members of the parish pay archie a visit soonest to find out what is going on.

ReplyDeleteActually, Bozo, given that Apuron NEVER PUBLICLY DECREED the deed giving RMS the Yona Property "for perpetual use," this may not be a satire at all. It is quite possible that you neo-cult thieves could have actually changed the name of the church. The fact that Chuck and I thought to satirize it tells us that we have not yet taken in the full scope of the possible evil machinations of Apuron and his losers.

DeleteAnd if you go to page 7 of the same edition (Sunday, Dec. 27) you will note another big mistake. The byline says, "Pope recognizes miracle needed for Mother Teresa's sainthood" but the article had nothing to do with that title. Instead, the content was for the story right under it titled, "Mideast Catholic patriarchs urge hope, joy amid suffering." If you read carefully you will see the exact same story for both headlines! Unbelievable! Doesn't anybody do proofreading over at Umatuna anymore?
