BRUCE GETS IT

  1. Really Archbishop Hon? You ask for patience while you violate the trust you ask of the faithful! Where is the transparency? Your decree nullifying the former decree(s) had the tone of "regret", like a frustrated parent who finally gives in to the plea's of their children saying " All right already".
It's laughable that you rescinded a decree that was never made public! And then tell the media that the decree was of a private matter that will not be made public! The Hill is having a profound effect on your administrative abilities. Have you blessed the Chancery!

  1. Amen, Bruce! No need to amplify on your comment; you’ve hit “a triple”. All that’s left now is a grandiose homerun! (These puns are not intended to take the matter lightly; they are meant to put them in common parlance).

OK, Archbishop Hon. You’ve heard the message (and you’ll be hearing more of it). Are you going to do what is “truly right and just”, or are you going to continue treating us as peons or pawns in your game of chess, and eventually walk into a checkmate! Make up your mind, Your Excellency – acquiesce to truth and honesty in the mission of bringing healing to a suffering Church or continue to protect the hidden mission of your “boss” (not the Pope, but the Prefect of the Congregation you are Secretary of). Some of us know of the hidden agenda – go out there and protect the interest of the NCW AT ALL COSTS, never mind the “natives”. Just give them morsels of bread that fall from the rich tables of the NCW. They’ll be quiet; just give them a couple of weeks! Do something BLATANTLY CLEAR, Your Excellency, that will CONVINCE the populace that you are here to heal. Stop giving us cosmetic band-aide signs. We may be “natives” (“natibos”), Your Excellency, but we can see through the veneer of the chicanery.

I predict, Your Excellency, that if this debacle which you are doing next to nothing to CURB OBJECTIVELY continues un-abetted, – the worse is yet to come. Rebellion is one thing; schism is another. Interdiction/excommunication? Try it. Choose your weapon – truth and honesty or ecclesiastical “political” correctness; Choose your poison – rebellion, schism, interdiction, or excommunication. The ball is in your court, and the score is 40-30, not deuce.

A totally disgusted Catholic, Joe R. San Agustin (6/17/16)

HOW MANY OF YOU FOLKS OUT THERE ARE WILLING TO PUT YOUR NAME AND REPUTATION AT STAKE FOR THE CAUSE OF OUR CATHOLIC CHURCH. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE FOR ALL MEN TO SEE; DO NOT PUT YOUR LIGHT UNDER A BUSHEL BASKET! FANOHGI, CHAMORRO; FANOHGI, MANGATOLIKU.

PS: In the middle of my anger, I truly truly pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance for you. Pray to Him too, Your Excellency. And do so on your knees. It is the perfect posture to show reverence. Stop listening to your “advisors”; listen to that tiny voice within your soul called CONSCIENCE! You’ll NEVER go wrong!

  2. Thank you, Joe, for the inspiring words. This is the first time in my life I have had to fight for the survival of the church in Guam. I wasn't around during WWII. That was probably the last time the church was in jeopardy.

A big silver lining in all of this mess is the strengthening of my faith and I am sure others feel the same way. Let's stand together and speak the truth. Let's march together and fight for justice. Let's pray together and ask for God's blessings. May His light shine in our hearts and heal the wounds we have suffered.

  3. Archbishop Hon: We need TRANSPARENCY! Not secret decrees. Not "whispers" of how non-neos will be handled. Are we to guess what is being reviewed and reconsidered? I would pull out the past UMATUNA SI YU'OS issues to get some clues but I've already lined the birdcage with them and have since thrown them out. You cannot afford to drag your feet on the investigation/assessments. You cannot just hope that parishioners will lose interest before your investigations are completed. We cannot be kept out of the loop as you work to clean out...truly sanitize...the chancery.

  4. It is beyond Archbishop Hon now. As AB Hon says it is the Holy See now. The Holy See needs to be transparent as to who is in charge of the necessary investigation ( I expect that is already in place ) and how it is to conducted. Obviously time is of the essence- so the when is now. Since the Archbishop in Arizona has been aware for a long time now of Mr Denton,s experience the faithful are yet to see the transparency of the Holy See's progress. There is no other matter of importance for the Catholic Church than to act quickly and openly where matters of sexual abuse are concerned. The longer it goes unresolved will further undermine our faith in the leadership of our Church. It will be a great loss for our Holy Father if this occurs. AB Hon has many other priorities in Guam, of which has been written far and wide and the most important of these, I believe is the financial aspect- ie the RMS property transaction. As has been said, he has been aware of all situations since Jan 2015. IF he was more transparent then some may be patient just a little longer. Sadly I do not believe it will be the case. Certainly there are evil forces within the Vatican but is it to be accepted that the good forces are powerless -because the longer all issues remain on the table then that is what it looks like to me.
