THE 800 LB GORILLA IN THE ROOM

Posted by Frenchie

This past weekend, a very public "call to Joy" at the Cathedral Basilica has been a very rude awakening for many, to the fact that despite the spiriting away of Apuron and some highly publicized cosmetic changes, which includes the appointment of a Co-Adjutor in the person of Archbishop Byrnes, very little has changed in the day to day reality of our Archdiocese.

This is the 800 Lb Gorilla in the room, that almost everyone has failed to recognize since this past November.
Indeed, the NCW trolls continue to troll.
  • The Seminary is still open.
  • The Proposed Moratorium by Fr Mike has gone nowhere.
  • Pius is still hiding at the Seminary, and continues to flaunt the Archbishop's authority.
  • The communities are still very active, and continue their termite work from within.
Apuron has gone into hiding in California, with the help of the NCW. (They are fast becoming the experts at spiriting away child abusers.)

Adrian has been rewarded by an opportunity to hide in Canada.
David the perpetual sickly evil doer, has once again pulled a Houdini on us.

Christmas has come and gone, and we are fast approaching Lent, yet it seems like nothing much has changed.

Indeed very little has changed, we have kind of fallen asleep at the wheel, happy with some superficial and temporary victories.

The 800lb Gorilla hidden at the Cathedral/Basilica has been the NCW community there.

For the last two weeks, and under the radar of the majority of the island, the Catechesis has been in full swing in Merizo, in Umatac, in Barrigada and in Agat.

In Agat, where the pastor is on vacation, Pius, the Putrid Monk, even had the gall to be the main celebrant during last weekend's Masses.

All the while our new Archbishop is too busy with the lawsuits, updating the Child Abuse policy (which Apuron had purposely left very weak), and trying to figure out where all the money has gone, not to mention any files that might not have been lost or destroyed.

The LFM has restarted its picketing
The CCOG continues its work
The lawsuits are moving forward.

Yet, the NCW is still here, and they are on a recruiting drive, with no apparent clear instruction for the clergy and us the laity, as to how we should proceed from here.

Our new leader Archbishop Byrnes needs to be clear as to how he wants to proceed from here.

This is where many have been dismayed, lost, and/or angered by this past weekend's  "Call to Joy"
Lots of ink has been spilled on the subject. Many rumors are floating around, from the mundane, to the most inane.

Certain parishioners, even going as far as spreading vicious rumors about other parishioners and/or priests. (Hardly what you expect from devout Catholics.)

One thing is sure, it is that this very public and poorly received "call to joy" has had the effect to awaken the faithful and the clergy to the fact that the NCW is very much alive and well and living on Guam.

Maybe this whole affair has a silver lining after all.... I shall not be one who will be surprised if we see some movement on that front sooner than later.

  3. nothing has changed. neo continue doing whatever they want. Priests continue doing ther own thing. There is no leadership because it is a divided church with no leader. Apuron remains Archbishop Byrnes is a pawn on a chess board. Reality.

  4. No more. Byrnes cannot use the excuse that he is the "new guy." After all that pageantry of welcoming him, he has to demonstrate that he is here to provide leadership and clarity. He is not here on vacation, and feigning ignorance does not cut it - unless his trusted advisors are fawning bishop-enthralled sycophants as well.

    1. Byrnes is a good man no question. But not suitable for Guam. Already he is seen as soft not to be taken seriously.
His second move sending Cristobal to Canada shows his level .

    2. Same thing I sad more than once. Byrnes lacks the protective instincts of the shepherd he should be and he can't think on his feet. He's useless in a crisis such as this one.

He's decent enough, but remember that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. What Guam needs is fast remedial action.

  5. Kick the NEO's out of Guam, Close down the RMS factory, defrock apuron, nothing less. We are fully aware that nothing has happened since Byrnes took over, the NEO's are still in operation and have stepped up recruitment for membership, the deficient seminary is still open, and Byrnes has done nothing to answer concerns of the local Church and the presence of this heretical group.

  6. Byrnes can forbid Neocat recruiting if he wants to.

  7. Hmmm. So it looks like the Joy Boys (Pius, Waldo, and the rest of the gang) are looking to add to the cult. Searching for people in search of genuine guidance in a challenging world and times that they can manipulate and bring into their cult. Sad. Very, very sad.

  8. The 800 lb. gorilla has been at the cathedral. The stench was still there. It was in disbelief that recruitment was allowed last Sunday. More parishioners will walk out. Recruitment is NOT part of the Mass. And my money will not go toward building up NCW membership! AB Byrnes, did you really think the groups could co-exist? If you didn't give your blessing to all of this, can you not see how arrogant NCW leadership has been and continues to be?

    1. Anon 8:03 AM. Wby doesn't Fr.Paul remove the NCW from Cathedral? He can. He has been there for over 4 months now and he has the Neo still running the Cathedral from the Finance Council, office, and other areas. This is not Byrnes' fault. Fr. Paul, it is time to step up.

    2. Step up, Father Paul! And do it with the same effort in connecting with parishioners as you come down from the ambo to deliver sermons at Mass. DEFEND THE MASS!

  9. How many of our unsuspecting brothers and sisters will be lured into attending the NCW cult recruitment talks and eventually join the cult?

Many of our unsuspecting brothers and sisters risk becoming potential victims of this heretical teaching. They are going to the talks because they do not have any information about what the NCW truly is.

The truth about the NCW is its biggest enemy. We need to promulgate this information, this will save our unsuspecting brothers and sisters from being drawn into this cult.

Once this is done the NCW can run whatever recruitment sessions they want and no one will come.

  10. We don't need to go as high as Archbishop Byrnes to stop the Invitation for Joy at Cathedral. Fr. Paul could have. He has the authority and backing of Archbishop Byrnes. So why doesn't he? Ask him. If they are in a position to do so, it's time our pastors and priests step up and do their own house cleaning without having to rely on the archbishop and others to do the dirty work.

    1. Ya, our priests on vacay, in a funk, not saying Mass, spending up a storm. Makes RMS priest look pretty good. 'Cept Edivaldo. Never good.

  11. I would add, that the NCW believes that Byrnes is not their Bishop, but Apuron. Therefore they carry on, business as usual. As Long as Apuron is the Archbishop, the NCW will continue to exist. Perhaps Byrnes sees himself as temporary administrator and refuses to make permanent redical changes, just in case Apuron is exonerated by Rome.

    1. So what if ABP Brynes considers himself as only a temporary administrator. He is officially the Administrator of this archdiocese and should be making changes that would address our divided catholic church, temporary or permanent. He should not concern himself with what Rome may decide. ACTION is needed NOW… STOP the neo communities at all Parishes!

  12. To Anon at 8.03, 9.50, 9.36, and 10.04:
This is why I point out that Archbishop Byrnes owes the Clergy and the Laity a clear position in regards to the communities.
It is essential that we do get a position one way or the other.

As for anon @9.36 and 9.50, even if the Rector at the Cathedral, acted unilaterally, which he most likely will end up doing; what do you do regarding the other communities in the rest of the island?

Do you keep the faithful hostage to the presbyters that control the parishes where the Catechesis is already in full swing?

This is much bigger than the Cathedral, and what the Rector might do or should have done.

What of the obvious disobedience and arrogance of Pius?

If the Rector acted alone, you would have two sets of rules, one for the Cathedral, and another for the "other" parishes. This is inane and shortsighted.

Hence, the need for Archbishop Byrnes to own this issue from the get go.

  13. Byrnes' has probably been told by Filoni exactly what his limits are within the archdiocese. I don't expect any significant corrective or pastoral action from him. He seems like a wuss to me.

Sadly, you're dealing with bishops and priests who no longer believe that consecrated bread and wine are the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, so the heretic Neocats' blatant liturgical abuses don't bother them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Byrnes is actually forbidden to chastise the Neocats, precisely because Rome knows that Apuron will return to Guam unpunished. They can't exile him from his homeland forever. The diabolic Neocats couldn't care less if Apuron is a predatory homosexual pedophile with no faculties. He'll remain their beloved archbishop until he croaks.

    Dear Anonymous at 3:43 pm,

Yes, I did. But I was told that the jungle may target those islands, so I reconsidered and decided to remove their names.

Islands where the NEOS will go are Rota, Palau and Chuuk.

    1. Warn churches on those islands that they're in the Neocats' crosshairs. Tell them they've been targeted by the psychopathic cult as dumb sitting ducks.

    2. Will Apuron establish his new kingdom on one of those islands when he returns? Sounds like the Neocats are paving the way for him, retired or not.
