KIKO'S CAVE

Posted by Chuck White

Kiko Argüello's followers are told that he has a habit of retiring daily to a cave in Murcia, Spain during the summer months in order to pray and meditate.

What a blessing that a photographer happened to be there at the cave the day this picture was taken!  And there must have been no need for the time-consuming setup of special lighting in the dark cave either.  A true miracle!

  1. That's not a cave, obviously. The shadow produced by the sun is clearly visible on the ground.

    1. Yes, Beati, it looks more like an indentation in a cliff. But the Kiko-hagiography refers to a cave in Murcia, so a cave in Murcia it is. If his handlers could have found a better one in Murcia, they would have.

  3. I am also capable of taking pictures using my phone when I'm with my catechists... maybe someone with him took some nice photos for personal and social media posts. Just admiring how inspirational the photo is or can be. Though you are right, miracles do happen all the time especially for the faithful ones. Learn to love life junglewatch.

    1. Sorry, but the picture is meant to give the impression that Kiko has "retreated" to his prayer cave to meditate in silence and solitude. Obviously that's not the case.

  4. Kiko makes mention of the cave in his published diary, "Anotaciones (1988-2014)" in an entry (#407) dated August 23, 2006. He says that it's in Moratalla, near the town of Caravaca de la Cruz, in the province of Murcia. He calls it a "cueva", or cave.

    1. In entry #424 in the same book, he says "Estoy en la Sierra de Moratalla, en Murcia, haciendo un dia de retiro en una gruta."

Recorded in the front of the book are the words that the Virgin Mary supposedly spoke to him in 1959. I'm not sure if this cave was the site of this "vision".

      "Gruta" = grotto.

    2. Based on what the NCW has shown itself to be, you wonder what actually spoke to him in this cave.

One wonders because, it is believed that in the solitude of the cave on Mount Hira the "Angel Gabriel" appeared to Muhammad.

    3. Probably Kiko's inner demons spoke to him.

    4. If the Virgin Mary spoke to him in this cave, why aren't there plan pilgrimages to the cave? Are the etchings of the Virgin Maray on the wall as well as the silhouette of the Madonna placed there by a micracle?

I don't know, but any vision or apparition should really be authenticated! After all the vision of Mejourgorie was thrown out the window and same goes for the Lady of the Roses in the Phillippines.

      Something smells!

Got to go back now Reading the book "Power and the Church" by Martyn Percy. He may be an Anglican but his books are interesting. The book seems to have a parallel to the book "The Pope's Armada"

    5. I thought the NCWs had no reverence for Mary. I guess for them Mary only matters when they can use her to further their cause.

    6. Eventually the community will reach the stage of Loreto and will be given the Rosary and a copy of Kiko's icon of Mary. They will then pray the Rosary every day. Many of Kiko's songs refer to Mary so it would be wrong to say there is no reference to Mary.

    7. "Eventually." LOL. So glad I learned to say the rosary as a child with my family. It has sustained me through thick and thin while I supposedly developed an "adult faith." Given what you neo's call an adult faith, I'd much rather have the faith of a child.

    8. According to Kiko, they "give the Rosary" to members after they've been walking in the Way for twelve years. That would be your Loreto stage. People "cannot stand devotions"
      he says. Read more.

    9. Another case of Kiko determining some criteria or setting hurdles one has to jump through to determine readiness for one hoping to receive graces from God. The church has taught that the rosary is a contemplative prayer focused on the life of Christ at important stages of his ministry. What comparative catechesis does Kiko have to offer, other than to brainwash believers and detract them from the truth, or at least his interpretation of what the truth is. Is he wiser than the Church? God's revelation has already been given to us in Sacred Scripture, Tradition and the Teachings of the Church. All Kiko is doing is taking these truths putting his twist based on his interpretation and presenting them as a novel teaching that he claims was revealed to him. We have learned from history that personal interpretation of Sacred Scripture is the cause for pervertion of the truth. If the Church determined what is inspired writing from all the books written, she has to be sole interpreter, and teacher of that truth. The Church, and not Kiko is who we should listen to.

    10. Anon @3:59,
That's the whole deception with Kiko and his NCW that you followers have been duped of. Everything has to be according to Kiko, Kiko's Catechesis, at Kiko's time earning Kiko's Icon. You followers are obligated to celebrate Kiko's liturgy singing Kiko's music in an environment decorated with Kiko's art, listening to Kiko's interpretation of scripture. You clowns have gone over the edge and even proclaim him your profit, and your saint, and not just a saint but a saint of a high order. We are expecting that sooner or later you will elevate him to be par with Jesus. What a circus.

    11. "I'm not sure if this cave was the site of this "vision""

Dear Chuck, Kiko says Virgin Mary appeared to him inside his house in Madrid; according to him, he was kneeling in prayer beside his bed.

To anon 8.32, some simple questions for you:
      a) why people should be there when Kiko is in "solitude" praying?
      b) why Kiko published his writings when still alive?

There are no records of saints doing so.

  7. It is all a show, part of his narrative that he was chosen to lead this cult. How sad, to continue the deception just to validate his claim. An authentic visionary does not proclaim himself and his weird theories of human nature but proclaims the goodness of God, of whom he is only a messenger. Unfortunately his grand vision blinded him to the fact that some people are not easily swayed by his lies. What a blow it must have been to see cracks in his seemingly flawless designs. He might have been Hitler-brilliant but his minions like apuron and the not-so-smart cristobal, llanes, quitugua, eusebio, and groupies revealed breaches in his non-impregnable mind.

  8. How ridiculously anachronistic of kiko arguelles to keep squeezing this faith experiment which was an offshoot of the large-scale confusion in the aftermath of Vatican II. The train has long left the station, and kiko seems glued to "the age of Aquarius" that had undergone several iterations since.
