PEOPLE POWER IS NEXT!

KUAM's news story has the following from Fr. Adrian Cristobal:

KUAM attempted to get comment from the archbishop, however Father Adrian Kristobal (sic) spoke on his behalf.  "The conversations that Father Gofigan did write about would be considered internal and private matters concern the case of clergy discipline and basically where we stand as the archdioceses is that they don't believe that they warrant any further public comment," he said.

Ummm, sorry Fr. Adrian, you lose. You really shouldn't have answered the phone. Your ignorance is now on display for all to see.

You do not get to consider this a private matter or  a "case of clergy discipline". Archbishop defamed a lay man, Joseph Lastimoza, a married man with two young daughters. The Archbishop heavily implied that Fr. Paul was in a homosexual relationship with him. This now moves beyond your internal tiff. The Archbishop, with your coaching we are sure, has slandered and maligned a lay man in front of his wife, family, and community.

You have given the man and his family a gold mine because they are going to sue you for all you're worth. And the Archbishop, with his $42,000 a year salary (on top of all his living expenses which are paid by us), his personal, privately owned residence (which he uses for his neo friends), the tens of thousands he gets to personally pocket from Mass stipends, parish and school visitations, and the massive private contributions from the Neocatechumenal Way, are now fair game for Mr. Lastimoza and his family...oh, and their attorney. Expect a call.

If you haven't figured it out, the people of this archdiocese have had enough. There are many who have been slandered, maligned, defamed, stomped on, shut up, insulted, cheated, lied to, and damaged by Archbishop Apuron and the likes of you. They burn quietly. But only for now.

It's over. Go find a benevolent bishop who will hide the two of you, lest you find yourself experiencing an "arduous and painful closure" to your  assignment.

CALL TO ACTION: Contact the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Martin Krebs, and plead for a "visitation". Contact him here. And when he gets here, MAKE SURE YOU TALK. But that's only the first step. PEOPLE POWER IS NEXT!

    Against Persecutors and Evil-Doers:

Hostium nostrorum, quaesumus, Domine, elide superbiam: et eorum contumaciam dexterae tuae virtute prosterne. Per Dominum.

Crush, O Lord, we beseech Thee, the pride of our enemies: and prostrate their arrogance by the might of Thy right hand. Through our Lord.

  2. I URGE EVERY PRIEST, NUN, AND CATHOLIC LAYPERSON TO EMAIL THE NUNCIO AND ASK HIM TO INTERVENE AND TO BRING RECONCILIATION WITHIN THE CHURCH IN GUAM. THE CHURCH IN GUAM IS GETTING RIPPED APART. OUR ARCHBISHOP HAS LOST CONTROL. HE IS PARALYSED WITH HATRED AGAINST FATHER PAUL AND FATHER PAUL WILL NOT BACK OFF. THERE WILL BE NO WINNERS HERE. ONLY LOSERS. ROME......PLEASE HELP.

    1. Dear Plea for Help. I admire your comment, but only one correction. The Church will always win. Jesus Himself guaranteed that when He appointed Peter as our first Pope. However, it will struggle, it will have these difficult times, it will have failed leaders who don't know when to step down and make way for the Holy Spirit...but it will always be victorious. So we must take heart that God is in the Church.

But you are absolutely right to say that all people maligned, harmed, and maltreated by the hierarchy of this Archdiocese must speak up. By our prodding we can call Rome to come fix our problems...sooner than later. Either way, the Church will arise victorious, but we the people of Guam have endured enough suffering at the hands of Tony, Adrian and David the Silent.

It is time to show our faith and to put People Power into action on Guam! Praise the King!

    2. PLEA FOR HELP, I respectfully disagree with your statement that "THERE WILL BE NO WINNERS HERE" because I firmly believe that the winners will be the clergy and faithful of the Church in Guam. But we MUST speak out. Based on the earlier post about how members of the clergy are subjected to tactics that instill psychological fear and mentally break priests, it is clear that the Archbishop — along with his “advisors” — has not acting in the best interest of the Archdiocese for many years now. I truly believe that our Church deserves better spiritual leadership than what we currently have from the Three on the Hill.

That being said, I do agree with you that our Church needs intervention. The clergy, religious and laity must overcome their fear of retaliation from the Three on the Hill. So far they’ve only had to deal with attacking Fr. Paul and Tim Rohr. There is strength in numbers; they will not be able to attack everyone who comes forth with evidence about the problems in the archdiocese. I fervently pray that people will write to the Apostolic Nuncio to beg for a visitation before things get worse than they are now.

    3. What a lot of people don't understand is that actually we have been dealing with this problem with our Archbishop for the LONGEST time. Some people are shocked by the latest news about the Archbishop's comments about Father Paul and Mr. Lastimosa. But for those of us who are very active in the church, attended many meetings, served on committees and so on, we know the personality of our Archbishop. It is enough to make you want to loose your faith. But I thank God I know that the church of Jesus is not built on one man. I know there was a Judas even from the beginning. I have decreased my involvement in these committees but not my parish (thank God our pastor is not Neo). But people of Guam....what you're seeing now with these alleged remarks from the Archbishop regarding Fr Paul.....it's nothing NEW. Archbishop can be a very mean, spiteful person. My observation, I know. But I have seen and heard it.

Sisters for Christian Community: A New Model, Vatican Investigates Nuns
Sisters for Christian Community are contemporary women bonded together to manifest their commitment to Christ in a new form of consecrated life as a prophetic, collegial, ecclesial community. The community was formed in 1970 in response to Vatican II and is an international community with a committed membership in all continents of the world. The community reflects the journey of women called to be co-foundresses, co-equals, and co-responsible for all aspects of this new form of religious life which is non-canonical and ecumenical, with a self-supporting membership.

Sisters for Christian Community is a prophetic community that offers a viable alternative for women religious who are living the consecrated life and who espouse the values of Gospel equality and justice for women in the church. Decisions are made by consensus. In light of the Vatican investigations, more and more women religious may seek communities in which they are free to live according to their consciences. Sisters for Christian Community will warmly welcome such liberated, gutsy women who are birthing the church and world of our dreams.

"The woman charged with carrying out the investigation of U.S. women religious congregations last week sent major superiors letters containing information that for the first time confirms the Vatican-sponsored effort will involve an examination of “the soundness of doctrine held and taught” by the women."
