FOR THOSE WHO SAY "TLM" WITH A SNEER

One of the most amusing aspects of this "conversation" is the neo-panic for validation as evidenced by the re-posting of every possible photo-op with the pope and crowned by a pic of JPII celebrating Mass at their neo-Galilee headquarters back in the 90's, albeit certainly not with the unapproved anomalies they employ when the pope's not around. The most recent example of this was the gleeful scrambling to construct a canonization of the NCW because a recently appointed bishop had once attended one of their seminaries.

Amusing, too, is the common attempt to cast the celebration of the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (otherwise known as the Traditional Latin Mass) as a similarly anomalous rendering of the "eucharist", and the regular attendees as a "group" co-equal to theirs.

NOT!

One, notice that the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite is a FORM of the Roman Rite. The neo-eucharist, insofar as it departs from that which is allowed as an exception in your Statute, is NOT a FORM of the Roman Rite, but a Kiko-constructed liturgical aberration.

Two, the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite is the ancient form of the Mass, the "Mass of all ages", declared as always sacred and "never abrogated" by Pope Benedict in Summorum Pontificum. For the record SP is a document issued "Moto Proprio" which is defined as a document issued "from the Pope on his own initiative, and not in response to a request or at the initiative of others. Its legal determinations carry the full force of papal authority."

NOTE: the NCW Statute approved by Rome was "in response to a request or at the initiative of others." In the ranking of papal actions, it carries zero weight for the universal church, and is only a specific and limited license for those who subscribe to it or clerics who employ it. By contrast Summorum Pontificum, especially since it addressed the very "source and summit" of our faith, was a magisterial document of the highest order and was addressed and applicable to the universal church.

Third, in his accompanying letter to the bishops, released with SP, Pope Benedict directed the bishops to recognize that "What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too," and that far from merely allowing or licensing the celebration of this liturgy, the Pope directs the bishops throughout the world to give this Mass its "proper place." That's quite a bit different than the liturgical variances allowed for in the neo-eucharist, not to mention the liberties taken which are not allowed.

But just for the heck of it, since the NCW likes to drop names and note the number of bishops who support them or who have celebrated the eucharist with them, we here note that since the elevation of Francis to the papacy, 84, that's EIGHTY-FOUR, bishops and cardinals, have celebrated the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, that's the "TLM" for those who say those letters with a sneer.

  2. Apparently too many big words in this post for our opponents. Or is it too many bishops and cardinals? Probably both.

  3. You keep beating them at their own game. Hence my "/crickets" prediction.
Their tactics may work on some, but not to those properly formed and learned. They have underestimated you, Chuck and all the other good people on this site who have been expertly exposing the manipulating rhetoric of the Neo.
Thank you for providing this forum for us!

    1. You are welcome, but "beating them" is not going to matter. Satan never sleeps. The weeds will grow with the wheat....for now.
