MY OWN MOTHER TELLS ME THAT I AM FOLLOWING THE DEVIL

Dear Tim,

I don't really know how to start this email,  so I guess I will let you know who I am and how I happened upon your site.  My name is B___,  I'm 30 plus years old and I've been exposed to the neocatechumenal way from the age of 3 (when my mother joined). I attended my first catechesis at the age of 12 and "walked" in a "community" up to the step of redditio, with a few breaks along the way. I'm extremely happy to say that I no longer "walk", and haven't done for the last 2 years. It was through a wonderful friend with a beautiful, solid faith, and a great love for the Catholic Church, that I've been able to see, and know for certain the many wrongs that have been inflicted on me and many, many others.

I'm sure,  by what you have written,  that you have an extensive knowledge of the psychological damage and the theological manipulation that is taking place in the communities and how expertly it is done.  It sickens me to realize,  looking back,  that my logic and reason where non existent and that I blindly and enthusiastically handed this over to the catechists. Me,  like so many others,  grew up in the neocatechumenal way,  not having a true understanding of what the church teaches and being robbed of thought and right judgment.  It saddens me too think that so many people in "the way" will never have the opportunity to see and feel the true beauty of the church and God's infinite love.

I feel truly blessed to have the support that I do,  and I thank you for the part that you are playing in my "rehabilitation". It makes me want to vomit when I read and listen to what is happening in Guam, and what makes it worse is that I know these people truly believe that they are doing the right thing,  that they are"chosen", and that everybody else is deceived by the devil.

My own mother tells me that I am following the devil and that I'm destroying my children because I no longer go to the community. It doesn't matter that I go to Mass at least twice a week, pray with them daily and send them to catholic schools. In her eyes,  the neocatechumenal way is the only way. My mother is now at the step of the election,  which is the final step. My father doesn't "walk". Since I can remember,  my mother has blamed my father for everything that goes wrong in the family because he refuses to walk. She has often told him that she wishes that he would die,  that he is no good, that he is not a man and that she hates him. It's no wonder that I now feel so free being away from that sort of negativity.

I could go on and on about the negative impact the neocatechumenal way has had on my life, but I don't think I would ever get this email sent,  and I think it's very important that I do. Many people who leave the neocatechumenal way dare not speak out because they are scared to,  I no longer wish to be fearful.

Thank you again for bringing these things to light and for confirming many of my queries.

May God bless you always.
Kindest regards
B___

    1. Didn't have to. It's a story told many times. And psychological damage and theological manipulation? No need to verify. We've been exposing those things from the beginning.

      Delete
    2. And mistake? Not really. The question was "why are you telling us this?" The only difference was that it was the councils asking this in general and not a specific person. Either way, the Archbishop had not answer, and still doesn't. Why?

  2. Wow. Well his or her comments reflect what I hear from the diana blog - they are the chosen ones, anyone not with them is following the devil. What happened to free will? The Neo is a cult plain and simple

  3. Tim, nobody is forced to join the NCW. They NCW Is not for everyone, of you don't like it, then leave. Maybe the reason for the other reacting the way she did was because she felt that she would her daughter. Tell me Tim, if one of your kids decides to Join the NCW, how would you react? Please make this a post :)

    1. Right. The NCW is NOT for everyone. But the Catholic Church IS. See the difference?

    2. Nobody is "forced" to join the NCW, but as the minutes of the meeting with Archbishop Krebbs illustrates, they are most certainly coerced or at the least, penalized for choosing not to join. Enough with the semantics already.

    3. So why push away the NCW? Again answer my question.

      Delete
    4. " . . . nobody is forced to join the NCW . . ."

In a way, "force" is an incorrect description. More like coercion; manipulation of the liturgy; subtle changes made to the parishes; and the omission of true intent in new construction.

The "parish center" in Santa Rita is one example of omission of intent. Other examples of not "forcing" are the unsolicited insertion of double tiered tabernacles in certain parishes; the restructure and exclusive use of chapels and parish halls for their own use; the proliferation of NCW formed "presbyters" in our parishes while halting regular and traditionally formed priest; and the illicit addition of strumming guitars during the presidential parts of an ordination mass.

Yep, force is not the right word. Infiltrate seems more appropriate.

" . . .if you don't like it, then leave."

Obviously Kiko did not agree with the liturgy thus customized it to fit his needs. Tell me, then, who is the one who has already left?

    5. @10:19: The Archbishop and his minions tell us regular Catholics (i.e., immature, spiritually dry Judases) that the NCW is indeed for everyone. In fact, they tell us at our Masses that the regular RCC is deficient and we need to join the NCW in order to develop an authentic relationship with God. Perhaps you should speak with the Archbishop, Msgr. Quitugua, et al. so you all can get on the same page.

    6. Anon @ 11:50 PM -- Why push the NCW away? Because it uses good and innocent people to spread its disease in the Catholic Church and we need to stop it now!!

  4. Tim - I'm sorry to see that your first commenter was a negative one, doubting and questioning the veracity of "B". Could it be "Diana" coming back to haunt you from the grave - now that his identify has been revealed?

I know a friend of mine who had passed away who would have confirmed the veracity of "B"s narration of his/her Neo experience. My friend had ceased attending Neo functions for over a year, but they kept going after him because of one thing only - his money.

Not because he couldn't afford one, but he was just not into computers, and was therefore unable to follow the saga described in the Jungle. I kept him informed, and his usual reply was "what is said of the Neo in the Jungle is absolutely true - it is a cult!" but he would not come out and say it openly because of the quasi-vow (arcana?) he had taken. And I respected him for that!

How I wish I could know this person "B". Such courage! - Anon.

    1. What B said is true, my community finished the Way two years ago after 32 years. I left after 22 years, i had enough of so much BS along the way. As itenerant catechists change, it was doubly difficult to just be Obedient, because they contradict each other in their scrutinies. Good job B. Hope to meet with you as i did stop at Reditio myself.

Is this where they tell that if you reveal anything about the inner workings that you will go to hell?
Come on people stop drinking the koolaid! Our Lord never hid anything about what He taught.
      Ya see the difference?

    3. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for "B" to come forward with this experience, and risk the backlash from his/her ex-community, let alone family! This testimony should teach us at least two truths - that the average member of the NCW is an innocent person to which great harm has been done, and that the structure/nature of "the way" is conducive to brainwashing, manipulation and an assault on virtue and truth.

"B", you have my utmost respect for coming forward with your experience.

Can I suggest that we all take a little time today to pray for "B" and his/her family, and all those with similar stories of the "Way"?.

  5. Congratulations! As a true Catholic you can now joyous proclaim that you no longer "walk" but rather "follow" in Christ's example.

Anonymous September 9, 2014 at 10:19 PM perpetuates a lie when he says: "Tim, nobody is forced to join the NCW." This is just plain not true. No matter how many times we hear this, it still doesn't make it true.
As was pointed out by myself and several other men in our meeting with the Nuncio back in July, we were forced to join the NCW by the Archbishop and Fr Adrian. We had been studying for 3.5 years and were told 5 months before our scheduled ordination that unless we joined a community and walked we would not be ordained. Our primary formator, Fr Tony Perez, was furious when he found out that this was being forced upon us. He met with the Archbishop, but the Archbishop refused to rescind the order.
So, Anon 10:19 please stop parroting what you have been told when you do not know the facts. Some people have heard this so often they begin to think it is true, but the reality is that people have been forced to join. Also ask the three priests who wanted to be incardinated to our Archdiocese but were told they had to join the NCW or find a new home/new bishop.

    2. Deacon Martinez, do you still walk? How many Deacons (outside of the RMS) walk in the way.

    3. That people are "forced" to either be in the NCW or stay is commonly known. Otherwise, Pope Francis would not have felt it incumbent upon him to address it:

"The freedom of each person must not be forced, and even the eventual choice of someone who decides to seek, outside of the Way, other forms of Christian life that help him to grow in the response to the call of the Lord must be respected." - Pope Francis to members of the NCW, Rome, Feb. 1, 2014.

The word "forced" as in "no one is forced" needs the clarification that Jose notes above. So it is quite intellectually dishonest to say that "no one is forced". We have already seen that young men desirous of serving this diocese as priests MUST be formed in the Neocatechumenal Way or not become priests. The fact that there is a boarding house in Malojloj doesn't change that.

    4. Thank you Deacon Steve for speaking out. It is clear that the climate of fear and intimidation is perpetrated by AAA who is a staunch NCW member. He is the one who needs to find a new home. We need a bishop that attends to ALL Catholics.

    5. Deacon, you have it all wrong. Didn't Fr. Adrian apologize for this. He was sorry if it was conveyed that way. Lol. This is exactly the problem. They won't admit it and so the process of healing can't proceed. Fr. Efren was correct, the process of healing has to happen with or without these people.

Attached is a post I gave to Diana today. A friend called me and mentioned that my post to Diana was in her blog. I had to ask him for his/her address to respond::

      "Dear Diana:
Please correct your posting about my comments. This is the first time I have visited your site, and I have never posted here before, nor will I post here in the future. I am not Anonymous September 10, 2014 at 8:40 AM. Someone else has posted this entry using my name at the bottom. However, everything except the first paragraph was posted by me on JungleWatch. It is true that I was forced to join the NCW, along with 12 other men.

Although your comments seem to indicate to the contrary, it is a fact that I was obedient to the Archbishop and did join the NCW, Barrigada Community #8, in April 2003. As mandated by His Excellency, I joined the Way, even though I had been in the NCW previously (in 1999). I continue to believe that such a mandate was a violation of Canon Law and that participation in any movement cannot be required as a condition of ordination. Be that as it may, along with Deacon Jeff Barcinas and Deacon Peter Kaai we were the first three in our class to go to catechesis. The other men joined a later community at the Agana Cathedral. After our ordination, the Archbishop allowed us to leave the NCW if we so chose, and I chose to do so.

So please stop posting that we were disobedient, we were not. My comment was intended to clarify an Anonymous poster in JungleWatch saying that no one is forced to join the NCW. I hope this clears up the fact that the Deacon Class of 2003 was and remains obedient to our Archbishop. More importantly, I hope it clears up the misstatements often made by members of the NCW that no one is forced to join the Way. I was forced to join, and others have been as well.

One last clarification. I am not studying to become a priest. I am a permanent deacon, and my wife would have something to say about my change in status to become a priest.

Thank you for posting this clarification, and God bless."

Yes, it is true that Fr Adrian, Msgr David, and the Archbishop all apologized for the "misunderstanding at the time". This is not an apology that I can accept since they have denied the fact that we were forced to join. They have apologized for the wrong act, so how can I accept that apology?
Instead, during our meeting with the Nuncio they tried to re-write history. As I have stated before, there was absolutely no misinterpretation on our part. Fr Adrian was very clear...if we did not walk we would not be ordained. It was our first test of obedience. We had to circumcise our minds, not question, but just obey.
There can be no misinterpretation about these direct statements from Fr Adrian. When Fr Tony Perez, our primary formator, found out what the Archbishop had mandated he was furious and went to see the Archbishop. If there was any misinterpretation on our part, then at Fr Tony's meeting with the Archbishop it could have been very easily resolved and clarified. It was not, and the mandate stood.

I should add at this point, that if one of the three who apologized at the meeting with the Nuncio had genuinely spoken and said: "I am sorry we forced you to join the NCW back in 2003. I realize now that it was wrong for us to mandate that action. Please accept my apology." Of course, I would gladly accept that apology and we could move forward. It would be quite easy to clear the record and continue with the mission of serving all the people of Guam.

I pray that one day soon we may meet, and honestly and openly discuss the issues that divide our community so the healing and re-unification process can begin.

Thank you Tim for allowing me to clear the record.

  8. Jose M. since you brought up the Santa Rita parish, may I ask a question if you know anything about this incident. While Father Fabio was pastor, it is said that the crucifix was placed at the entrance of the church and the statues of saints were made to look out the door. The crucifix of the statue Santa Rita was also removed from her hand.

Does anyone out there know the story behind this?

    1. Since this was the very incident which led to the removal of the statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe and subsequently replaced with a neo painting, I'm inclined to think that the so called "vandalism" was staged by Father Fabio himself. More so after hearing that when parishioners were requesting to bring her back, Archbishop Apuron (being a neo himself) disapproved it. You make your own conclusion.

    2. A little accountability please. Where is Our Father Fabio? Don't say doing missionary work. We know better. If they are our beloved Archdiocesan priests, why can't we know where they disappeared to?? Inform us, Archbishop! Now.

    3. Last I heard, Fabio was shipped off to China. If we here had problems understanding his homilies, I wonder how he's doing there.

    4. @6:21 why do I doubt this? Yes, it was printed; but needs verification. Guess we are paying that ticket too, right. Fabio, where are you??

    5. Trying to recall where it was posted here that Fabio was back on island last month. Not sure if he was visiting or passing through. Has Fabiola produced anything to justify the $200,000.00 he supposedly spent on the Kiko architect? Money can't just vanish into thin air. Isn't swindling a crime? Maybe it's time for police involvement.

  9. I hear that remark from the ncw, often -- "it's not for everyone" So, does that ncw statement mean that:

    1) only "special people can belong"? So, who determines who is special or not?

    2) the standards which measure one's eligibility to ncw are not comparable to, not compatable with nor the same as Jesus' standards and qualifications for membership into HIS own Church? ... because The Catholic Church (HIS CHURH and The Church which our local Catholic Faith and Church on Guam follows) allows everyone in because it is for everyone!

So thank you Tim, for reminding us all here on your blog -- the simple truth that the Catholic Church is for all -- especially for sinners and the down-trodden!

If we believe what Jesus said about why He came down to earth and suffered death for us; if we place our undivided trust in His unfathomable mercy and love for us; if we had genuine faith and sincere confidence in His care and His concern for us, and if we simply place our total and complete reliance on Jesus and the wisdom of His Church, which has Apostolic authority for guiding and instructing us, why, then, turn to the kiko and the kiko's church??

Wouldn't that simply and outrightly be blasphemous?!

    1. Problem is that they believe that we have no faith because we cannot say to the mountain, "throw yourself into the sea".
On a different note, I read somewhere that the archdiocese was aquiring the IGH. Is this true? For what purpose?

  10. Thank you "B" for sharing your story with us. My prayer for you is that you continue an intimacy with Jesus with the the Sacraments, particularly the most important one, the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist that unites us with Him.I hope that your posting reaches even one Neo participant in seeking advise outside the NCW stronghold.
It disturbs me very much that the Sacrifice and Sacrament of Holy Communion that was conferred on the apostles to effect His miraculous Body and Blood to us is irreverently rearranged and innovated...as if we could dare make that change to Jesus, for Jesus! "Do This In Memory of Me". How much clearer can it get by the Author and Source of Holiness.

Please Neo members, give seriousness to the graveness of liturgical abuse and disrespect to reception of communion.Jesus demands Faithfulness for our salvation. Our allegiance is to a Supreme Being not a mere mortals with reformation movements that divide us.

  11. I can verify after 14 years of walking that the ncw is a cult. The damage to my family as a direct result of being seduced and manipulated is sadly irepairable. I have written a personal journal over many years which highlight the number of problems and personal sufferings members of my family have endured. I am NOT afraid of speaking out and the psychological scars are healing finally. I know B and I know the truth is being told in the experience shared. There are thousands of quotes parrotted by members of this group and in short the control and power they aquire over the lives of the innocent people who join their ranks is damaging to say the least. I am not in Guam but when I read of the trouble caused there I am not surprised.

  12. Archbishop should consider making an examination of conscience in particular to the Priests and people he has gravely hurt over the years. The process of healing can only begin when Archbishop reaches out to the people he so badly hurt by his words and actions.
