Update:
The current corporation is not connected with whoever financed the ad calling for transparency under the same name. According to Dave Sablan, the group liked the name and since it was not already a name registered with Rev & Tax, decided to use it. They will be developing a website and posting contact information soon. For now, I have asked them to send me any information relative to their plans which I will post here.

  1. In the Spirit of Vatican II it looks like full, active and conscious participation of the laity — in more ways than one! — is about to become a reality in the Archdiocese of Agana.

As my participation in this blog has indicated — and at the risk of being listed once again in "The Dianas" blog as deserving EXCOMMUNICATION — please count me in as one of the Concerned Catholics of Guam.

    Thank you very much!

For the record, my full name is Mary Lou Garcia-Pereda.

It's encouraging to see people who also are identifying themselves as Concerned Catholics of Guam by the use of their names in the comments. I pray that more people are able to emerge from that Veil of Anonymity and stand in the light as members of the Church Militant under the guidance of the Holy Ghost and the protection of Santa Marian Kamalen and St. Michael the Archangel as we fight to protect, defend and restore the authentic Roman Catholic Church here on Guam.

  3. It is about time that true Catholics stand up and be counted. I humbly ask to be included in this group, aptly-named Concerned Catholics of Guam.

  4. Count me in as well. I am deeply concerned about what is happening in our church.

Six years ago, I assisted my aunt in rallying others to speak out when the archbishop was threatening the Filipino priests to either accept the NCW into their parishes or go back to the P.I. This kind of injustice has not only continued but has also grown significantly worse.

  5. Thank you Mr Sablan and thank you to the Concerned Catholics of Guam Inc. This is long overdue.
The time is right for strong recognized laity leaders to take a stand based on the principle of our Church and for its benefit.

We love our Catholic Church and our Catholic Faith but, we, make up the Church and, we, are also the Church Militant. We’re not only called to know and love our Church but we’re also called to preserve, protect and defend it.

Pope Pius XII in 1953 said “We belong to the Church Militant; and she is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass her destruction.”

We see our Church misled and maladministered. We see the authentic teachings and traditions of our Catholic beliefs altered or mistaught, and irreverently mishandled or abused. I cannot and will not standby and be silent nor be blinded to what is happening -- so, count me in as another concerned Church militant member!

Congratulations to Dave Sablan and this wonderful group of people who have formed concerned Catholics for Guam. At the end of the day it is the good people of Guam who love their island and culture and traditions and devotions that must now unite and bring an end to a dictatorship which has damaged so many lives. I encourage the entire Catholic Church of Guam and the Mariana islands, clergy and laity, all people of good will, to join force and work for the true renewal of the church in the islands. Bad things in life only happen when good people sit by and do doing. It is time for activism and to make your voice heard and stop the oppression. The greater number of people in business and government who now join force with concerned Catholics opportunity comes for the much needed healing and reconciliation for a divided church.

How refreshing to see that most of the comments above were made by people who indicated their willingness to be identified by name as well as join the efforts of the Concerned Catholics Of Guam in healing the division and repairing the damage that has been wrought over the years in the Archdiocese of Agana.

Now that there is a way to add our names to the registry of CCOG, let us "walk our talk." Our "Count me in" and "Sign me up" statements above only indicate our willingness to back up our words with action. If you haven't already done so, please send an email to ConcernedCatholicsOfGuam@gmail.com where you can truly be "counted in" and "signed up."

    God bless us all!
