DEAR LAITY. JUST SO YOU KNOW.

Can. 212 §1. Conscious of their own responsibility, the Christian faithful are bound to follow with Christian obedience those things which the sacred pastors, inasmuch as they represent Christ, declare as teachers of the faith or establish as rulers of the Church.

§2. The Christian faithful are free to make known to the pastors of the Church their needs, especially spiritual ones, and their desires.

§3. According to the knowledge, competence, and prestige which they possess, they have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful, without prejudice to the integrity of faith and morals, with reverence toward their pastors, and attentive to common advantage and the dignity of persons.

  1. As long as the culture of fear permeates this island when it comes to speaking out for our Church, nothing is going to be right. It's going to be painful, but what better pain to endure than one of cleansing and healing.

    1. Yes, we are going through a very painful and trying time, but the pain can only go so far. Our mettle and resolve are being put to the test and we shall overcome with the help of the Holy Spirit, St. Michael, and the other angels and saints who watch over us and protect us.

  2. That cleansing and healing may not happen for another 5 years...unfortunately!

    1. to anon at 5.40, yes you can wait another 5 years, and give Kiko, Pius and Genarinis, 5 more years of plundering our resources and good will. 5 more years to produce untrained "presbyters" at your expense to replace our native sons, and 5 more years for Kiko, Pius and Genarinis to plot and find a replacement to AAA that would fit their tastes.
OR..... you can take the bull by the horn and make a lot of noise to say" I am not going to take it anymore!!!!" and put an end to this nonsense....
      Your choice....

    2. You can make all the noise you want and say, "I am not going to take it anymore!!!" but that will do nothing to change the current status and state of affairs the Church of Guam is in. Do you really think this "Apostolic Visitation" is going to make any difference? It's not!!! After these Apostolic Visitors leave, everything will continue as is. Do you really think Apuron is going to be removed before his time is up? It's not going to happen. The island faithful unfortunately will just have to tolerate his authority for the number of years he has left, either by reaching the retirement age for bishops or sooner if his health doesn't permit him to remain until required retirement. I am really skeptical about the purpose of this so called Apostoloic Visitation in terms of it having any meaningful outcome. Short of Rome's direct intervention, nothing will happen.

    3. Ah anon at 8.05 ! finally a skeptic, or are you really one?
Apostolic visitation are few and far apart. They only happen when the big boys in the Vatican need some answers, and when the traditional and polite way of asking a Bishop have failed.
Of course there is a decorum to follow, in respect for the symbols the office of Archbishop holds.
You are partially right in saying that things will continue as nothing happened after the visit, because this is what Apuron and his handlers want.
Behind the scene is another issue. You might not comprehend the whole significance of this visit, but it is in fact, the way Rome handles a direct intervention.
This is it. These people are on a fact finding mission, and they will report to the prefect of their congregation. We have the number two of the congregation in charge of these cases here on the island, this is very significant.
Archbishop Krebs is representing the foreign office and will send his report to the secretary of State and the personal office of the Pope.
This is why the Chancery is in panic mode and has brought up all their manpower to bear.
Apuron's meeting in Rome a little while ago was his last chance to come clean.
It is not by accident that this visit was announced right after that debacle.
      Rome moves slowly but deliberately.
It is important to stay calm and respectful. We must understand what is really going on.
This visit is an exceptional event, no matter how much the Chancery tries to spin it.
So my little doubting Thomas, continue to doubt if that is your nature, but what you see unfold in front of your eyes is nothing short of historic.
All this is happening despite Kiko's best allies in the Vatican trying to quash it from ever taking place. This by itself should give you a hint of the real battle going on behind the scene.

  4. I guess the following Reading from this Tuesday evening's Vesper Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours does not apply to this Diocese:

    READING 1 Peter 5:1-4

To the elders among you I, a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings and sharer in the glory that is to be revealed, make this appeal. God’s flock is in your midst; give it a shepherd’s care. Watch over it willingly as God would have you do, not under constraint; and not for shameful profit either, but generously. Be examples to the flock, not lording it over those assigned to you, so that when the chief Shepherd appears you will win for yourselves the unfading crown of glory.

JUST AMAZING HOW WE CAN IGNORE THE POOR AND NEGLECTED. SAD

  5. Unfortunately the tone of the visiting team is pro AAA. Not sure if anything will be resolved. In fact some are being admonished for speaking out. Not giving up entirely, but this visit is shaping up to be a waste of time and money. May need to find a different avenue to win our church back, but if this group won't approach things with a more open mind then "they" win another round. Apparently exposing lies is not enough. We need a real bombshell of an article to level the playing field again. Pray hard for that one to step forward.

    2. Dear Joseph,
many of us have said from the beginning that we should count on nobody but ourselves.

Now like it or not (and I don't) Anthony is the Archbishop until he retires, quits or is fired by the Pope himself. For the Pope to fire him he needs documentation and cross references. But he did it several times last year, with a speed and a cold bloodedness unseen in ages.
The visiting team is in fact following protocol and are respecting the office, if not the individual representing it.
The process is slow and steady, but it is steady.
They are obviously looking in specific issues.
The Nuntius has compiled a very thick file of complaints and reported problems.
      These are not going away.
      Neither are we.
So stay positive and let them do their work, the way they know how to do it.
Of course Archie, Pius and their minions will be giving us the "spin" after the visitators return to their respective departments to finalize their report. But we are used to this by now. This won't change the contents of the report.
The reverend is a specialist of missions and seminaries, I am sure he will ask pertinent questions, this is why they try to get to him earlier.
Several congregations (at least three) will be expecting a detailed report.
Already Tony was bypassed for the Red Hat.....
The non investigation of sexual abuse accusations is not being well received in this administration.
I also trust that despite the best effort of Pius, Archie and the two stooges at the chancery, they will have a tough time silencing the diocesan priests present.

Don't forget an Archbishop was here last year in February to check on RMS. Still they did not receive their accreditation. I hear the original report was not very complimentary.

In fact I will venture to say that the over reaction by the Chancery and the Neos to this visit could very well proved to be the nail in the proverbial coffin.

    3. Don't lose discourage, as the joke goes. No, really, don't be discouraged. To be discouraged is to give up our trust in an all-knowing God. When you think that everything is getting out of control, it is when God is in control. Truly believe in your hearts that God works in mysterious ways. God always prevails.

  6. Please readers take note of frenchie's 2.41am comment very important to understand this and the dynamics of what is happening these days. Even if some are blasted by the visitors there is much more at play here.Allow the visitors to freely do their work and look at the small details of what is happening.

  7. My fellow Catholics and Apostolic Visitors,

this is a prime example of the NCW mindset we are facing:

Not our mission to go to places like south Philippines. Our mission is to evangelize Catholics who are Luke warm and need salting to give them life. Guam is full of dry bones my role is to give the bones salted water to bring life to a dead community. Guam is full of dry bones, parishes are dead, non neo priests dead, our role is to bring life to the community

    1. AAA opened the door for the NCW to establish themselves here, therefore he is largely responsible for the mess we're in. He ranks up there with Judas and other betrayers. Praying for his removal along with the cancerous NCW from our island.

  8. The God I know is a merciful, and loving God, slow to anger, and abounding in kindness. It is he who gives life and he who takes it away. Blessed be God forever.
