LUKE 12:3

So we get our first glimpse of how the archdiocese is going to handle this.

First, the chancery's release to the press does not bear the name of the Archbishop, just the vice-chancellor. Why is this? The statements to the press with public accusations against Msgr. James of July 29 and 31, 2014 both were undersigned by the Archbishop personally. Obviously the statement about Fr. Luis was signed by a low level chancery official to minimize the incident.

And then there's this:
Sexual Abuse Response Coordinator Deacon Larry Claros told Variety yesterday that he would not be involved in the incident.
http://mvguam.com/local/news/39688-police-find-priest-with-teenage-girl.html#.VQoBHmSUc2l

First, there's the funny reference to "the incident", and it is probably how Claros himself referred to it, so the Marianas Variety just copied his words.

Just an FYI, Deacon, "the incident" was whatever happened between Fr. Luis and the girl. What you meant to say, and I'll say it for you, is that you will "not be involved in the investigation of the incident."

So then our next question is why?

I'll tell you why (since you won't). Because any involvement by Deacon Claros, the Sex Abuse Response Coordinator, in the investigation, would be an admission that the "incident" involved...well, SEX.

But if the incident only involved Fr. Louis sitting in a car with a girl, then what's up with the resignation?

Here's my suggestion:

COME CLEAN about the whole incident now.

What haven't you learned from two years filled with lies? That's why you are in the hole you are in now.

After Fr. Paul produced a copy of the letter terminating the employment of the registered sex offender dated 2011 and proving that he had obeyed you as ordered, all you had to say was "Sorry. My mistake." But no. You changed the charge and went after him ever more viciously even slandering him to his fellow clergy with the filthiest of allusions.

When Msgr. James produced the evidence that most if not all of your allegations against him were unfounded, you could have at least said "Maybe there's a misunderstanding. Let's talk." But no. You doubled down on him and raped him in the press week after week.

When Mr. Untalan and the other members of the AFC refused to hand over the title of the deca-million dollar Yona property to your neocat buddies, you could have simply tried to convince him of the reasons you wished to restrict the use of the property to the Neocatechumenal Way. Mr. Untalan was even in the Way at the time and was even a member of YOUR OWN community. He might have seen it your way. But no, you secretly gave control of the property to the neocats and then you berate and fire Mr. Untalan and your dingbat VG accuses him of a "vulnus" against you. WTH!

When RMS was exposed as a neo-only seminary and not the diocesan seminary you lied about it being for 15 years, you could have said, "That's right. I wasn't forthcoming about the true nature of the seminary. I apologize. I'm going to see to it that RMS truly trains men for the diocesan priesthood." But no, you created a second sham seminary because - and these are your words - "that's what they want." And then you snickered in private - or so you thought - about how those guys at JP2 think they're going to be diocesans.

What haven't you learned, Archbishop?
Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops. (Luke 12:3)

  1. Wow. Fr. Luis was the POSTER BOY of the archbishop parading him around as some trophy. He was the First in everything especially the first local to become a priest under the RMS. The archbishop took a baby and expected him to run overnight. Nothing proper was done in the formation of Luis Camacho as a priest, because if it was done properly, he would have been weeded out. Look at the consequences today! Look at the damage that was inflicted because of it. Look at all the people that are suffering because of it. This is all on you Archbishop Apuron. All on you and may God have mercy on your soul!

We all know he is a pathetic weakling used and controlled by his Neo Masters.

    1. Apuron is directly responsible for one of his priests found in a compromising position in a car with a 17 yearly old student. He is directly responsible for Wadeson. He is directly responsible for the disaster and moral mess of this Archdiocese. We hold Apuron responsible for all the scandal in this Archdiocese. He is a disgrace to our Island.

Here's a song for you AAA.

    In the shadows
(tune to wind beneath my wings)

It must have been cold there in the shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content thinking we won't mind, that's your way.
You've been walking with ''The Way'' all this time.

You thought you were the one with all the glory,
while we were the one fighting our Catholic faith..
A smile on your face your lying name for so long.
A secretive way to hide your gains.

    Refrain:
Did you ever know that you're no hero,
But everything else you would like (try) to be.
Tim can fly higher than your ego
'cause he is the wind beneath our wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but we got it all here in Junglewatch.
I want you to know we know the truth, of course we know it.
Our strength has gone on without you.

    Refrain

    Thank you, thank you,
thank God for Tim, the wind beneath our wings.

  7. Parent's should sue the archdiocese. Only when it affects his pocketbook will Apuron take any action. Somebody call SNAP. Should go after Apuron's personal property too since he chooses to be complicit by his silence. That would be a sight behold - Apuron standing at the intersection with his cardboard sign and coffee can...shoulder to shoulder with the poor he once ignored.

  8. Archbishop Apuron is not going to “come clean about the whole incident now”. It seems he rarely takes a stand by releasing the facts as he sees them. For this incident it leaves open the possibility for the followers of the NCW and a few others that the priest is innocent of wrongdoing without having to take a stand. A person responded to PDN’s Facebook page – “The girl have a big problem and she confided with the priest but since the priest can’t devulge anything to the police about it he chose to resign than to speak of it.” So very noble of the priest – What NCW community won’t want he him celebrating Mass with them? Unfortunately, by not taking a stance, the Archbishop is not doing the priest any favors also. What father would not stand up for a wrongly accused son or a son who made a mistake, but was sorry?

It will all be left open for interpretation. The Neos will believe that those in the Jungle have dirty minds and the non-neos will mostly think some kind of impropriety occurred but because the girl was above the age of consent, the police gave the priest a lesser charge. And the division in Catholic Church of Guam will continue to grow and grow.

(devulge is spelled divulge but was quoting)

  9. just a reminder bishop in case you did not take notes; paragraph 48 of the Post Synodal Apostolic Exhortation "Ecclesia in Oceania" given at Rome November 22, 2001 states:

In seminaries, the priests of the future are formed in the image of the Good Shepherd, "joining themselves with Christ in the recognition of the Father's will and in the gift of themselves to the flock entrusted to them".(158) Each Bishop is responsible for the formation of the local clergy in the context of the local culture and tradition. In this regard, the Synod Fathers asked that "serious consideration be given to more flexible and creative models of formation and learning"(159) which take into account the essential elements of a well integrated formation of candidates for the priesthood in Oceania: human, intellectual, spiritual and pastoral formation.(160) At the same time, the Bishops expressed "caution concerning extremes of clericalism or secularism and the dangers of inadequate competence, sometimes the result of present-day seminary formation that neglects the real academic and spiritual needs of seminarians".(161)

  10. Disgusting.

So what the use of Claros's position if he isn't going to do anything about it?

Look, no matter what, Fr. Luis was wrong in being with that minor. She had a problem that apparently her parents couldn't be at least informed that their kid was skipping out of school?

No, NCW, can't spin this story to make him look innocent. He, in the first place, SHOULD NOT have been in a parked car with any minor at a beach without the consent of her parents.

The way the Chancery is handling this clusterfuck is unbelievable. Fr. Paul was dragged in the mud for just hiring (and firing) a previous offender, yet he and the poor guy are labeled as a danger to society. But when the star child of a flawed school is caught in a compromising situation, they do nothing but sweep the situation under the rug?

I almost commented on one of those PDN Facebook posts, since everyone wanted to defend the priest and offer prayers. Whoa. What about the girl? She may be looked upon with shame and disgust, walking around embarresed and feeling as if this was HER fault.

But it isn't. Fr. Luis is already on the brink of hitting 30, she hasn't even matured fully into adulthood yet. This just goes to show that RMS priests aren't trained well enough to combat and avoid getting into this predicament. And yet, despite the situation, here's the Chancery trying to downplay it as if it were nothing.

I hope the Apostolic visitors are keeping tabs about this. It goes to show our Shepherd only cares for the well-being of certain members of the flock, particularly only NCW priests. Obviously they aren't doing anything to assist the family affected by this situation if they choose to do nothing to punish Fr. Luis but throw him onto a plane out of here or transfer him to another parish.

  11. Nimitz beach and nearby areas are timeless make out spots. Many children from Agat and neighboring villages likely conceived there. Where is the girl from somewhere from umatac or merizo parish? Why there? He picked her up from school in Agat, Santa Rita - many public restaurants to have a safe private conversation. The more that isn't said the more that this speaks volumes.

Time to tear the curriculum and screening policies of rms seminary apart because obviously these kids are going to the seminary because their "calling" is almost predestined. i.e. If you can't find a mate with the prevocation meetings that you attend you are highly encouraged to enter some kind of religious life - former resident of Agat, a current NCW, a concerned father.

    2. Glad to be Back to Holy Mother ChurchMarch 20, 2015 at 9:44 AM

Anonymous March 20, 2015 at 7:51 AM signs off on his post with "former resident of Agat, a current NCW, a concerned father."

You are correct indeed to be concerned. Many also share your concern. And if you are in the NCW your children are also likely to be in, or become NCW members. This puts your children at higher risk. Having walked myself for quite a few years, I saw first hand some of the questionable behaviors of our NCW presbyters. I'm not saying all of these quirks were of a sexual nature. There was one odd priest from the far north who was outright sadistic when it came to how he treated people, especially when baptizing babies. Yeah, many of you know exactly who I am speaking about! There are several who are outright critical of our local customs and practices. Didn't they also have local practices in Italy, or Salerno, or Columbia, or Poland?

I'm not sure why it is that the RMS seminary on Guam seems to attract such a high percentage of questionable men, but they surely do. Is it because for some of these men they are running away from problems at home, and Guam seems like a safe refuge? Is it because strong Neo parents see that their sons can not lead a normal life, so the NCW seminary seems like a good place for them to go? Is it because they are forced to join the seminary because voluntary vocations are falling below kiko expectations? We just don't know, but there is definately a defining distinction between NCW seminarians and regular seminarians.

I know of a current seminarian who, after retiring from government service, decided he wanted to serve the church in a deeper way, so he joined the deaconate program on Guam. After the first year, when Fr Adrian took over the program, he was forced to go into RMS.

Many problems are at a low boil at RMS, and it looks like the heat is being turned up, and now issues are starting to boil over.

The point of all this is just to say that parents have an obligation to protect their children, and they should be concerned with the Fr Luis situation. Sexual exploitation with community members is a real danger, as the recent crime against God and this child tells us. It is an example of how bad things can go when you create your own plans and not follow God's plans.

We need to pray for the abused and her family, and for all NCW families that have children at risk.
