NOTE TO FR. LUIS

Dear Fr. Luis,

Why don't you spare the archbishop the agony of suffering through another cover up and lie? There is no need for the farce of a "canonical investigation". What is there to investigate?

Fr. Luis, why don't you just tell us all the truth?

You know, you may have a really screwed up idea of sexuality from being kiko-ed all these years. I think you'd be surprised at how many of us on the outside would actually have compassion for your situation:

Taken fresh out of high school, stuffed into a fake seminary, taught fake theology, given a fake formation, ramrodded through for better or worse because the Archbishop needed a Chamorro RMS product and Kiko needed numbers, numbers, numbers.

Then slamming you into a collar you are sent down to the South to pastor two churches all by yourself. WTH? What were they thinking? Of course, we know what they were thinking: numbers, numbers, numbers.

Yah, of course what you did was wrong - oops, sorry, you haven't told us that yet. But let's say that you did. If there is a weakness everyone can identify with, it is temptations and sins of the flesh. People will forgive you.

But what people don't and can't identify with is the purposeful mistreatment of others like what we have seen Archbishop Apuron do to Fr. Paul and Msgr. James and many others. What people don't identify with is purposely being lied to, misled, shunned, stonewalled, and treated like we are stupid, as Apuron, the VG, Adrian, and Claros continue to do.

Right now, because of your silence, you are a part of that rot. That's why there is such outrage on this blog. But if you come forward like a man. If you stand up and take personal responsibility for what you did. If you express your deep regret and ask for forgiveness. You will see an outpouring of compassion and support, not because you are a priest, but because you are a man, a human being, a fellow child of God.

But if you let the Archbishop hide you behind his "canonical investigation" and Deacon Claros' whitewashing of the incident "for sure, for sure", then you will go down with them - forever.

You have a chance, Fr. Luis. It is not too late...yet.

Anonymous (March 21, 2015 at 11:51 AM), I'm not surprised that as a member of the NCW you "strongly agree" with this post since the points made are valid. Clearly you are aware that there are some things that must be done differently than the current MO. I hope and pray that there are other members who are able to acknowledge that — in this case, at least — we are in agreement.

It is an indication of what Tim has said since the early days of JW — there are many sincere members of the NCW (to whom we simply refer as "Neos") who only want to deepen their faith and we have no issues with them. Rather it is the militant members (to whom we refer as "Kikos/Kikobots") with whom some of us do have issues.

Thank you for your comment and God bless you!

  3. I believe if Fr.Luis Camacho Needs to firstly inform Archbishop Martin Krebs of the truth and then the people of Guam. Most people if they see Luis Camacho speaking truth they will give compassion and help to a young priest. We all need to exercise just compassion to him with mercy but at the same time we want the truth. Luis , Tony will throw you under the bus, so consider going to the media and telling the truth.

  4. Outpouring of compassion by priests & people should Luis reveal the truth himself.

Apuron is history most of your priesthood Luis will be lived with your brother island born priests they will be the ones to support you along with a new bishop. Guam is your home for the island and people, simply tell the truth. People will support you. We are a compassionate people.

  6. Luis, the truth will set you free. Re-examine your intentions with respect to your vows. Pray and meditate on what your true vocation in life may be. For now it's difficult to see you as a spiritual leader until you can be honest with yourself.

  7. I know I feel compassion for the Fr. Luis as well as the young teacher from STA. Yes, trust me I believe what they did is wrong, but if one seeks forgiveness, one can be forgiven. I look at how young some of these kids are when they join their community, some as young as 12 to 15. This means they are attending their first scrutiny at 14-17. If they are being asked to publicly share their crosses or deepest personal sins at their first scrutiny, I think it could not be healthy and could cause harm. Besides becoming somewhat immune to some of the sins people commit, teens are not always discrete, and also I just really wouldn’t want my teen hearing some of the crosses that an adult might bare. Although Fr. Luis may not realize it, he did not get the proper training and period of discernment. When you are young you believe you are much more capable that what you are. With age comes wisdom and you realize all the dumb mistakes you made in youth, and thank the Lord and your family for getting you through it. Being a priest can be a hard lonely life, especially without a strong support a Bishop behind you. Although Archbishop Apuron may have been proud to show off the first native graduate of RMS, I doubt he was there to guide and listen to him.

I guess you can say right now, I am angry at the sinners but I am more angry at the some of the things that I think might have contributed to the sin that were out of their control.

    4. That seems like a bad move. Especially since the AG's office is reviewing the case. It may tag him as a flight risk if charges are lobbied and a warrant is issued. Come back to Guam and face your actions, Fr. Better to stay and be repentant than to continue to make poor choices.

    8. Addition to 7:44pm, the only problem with this comment by this priest is he is being selective. If he said this to what they did to Fr. Paul. I believe him. If he said this after what they did to Msgr James, I believe. I believe he must have said it to after what they did to Fr. Wadeson. And that I believe is the problem. Being selective. Using such wonderful admonition from our Lord and applying it selectively.

Your mind is preoccupied with twisted sex. Many people have heard you. Are you comfortable having so many people under your powers? Please go away and the Neo will disintegrate. Just go. Get out of the Archbishop's house. Stop controlling his mind. Go to your monastery and reflect on what you have done to the Church of Agana and beyond. This is NOT moving forward; that's for sure.

  12. Luis, aka Fr. Luis, has been and still is under the strong clutches of Apuron and fellow Neos who have been his family and support since coming into the seminary over 10 years ago. After all these many years, do you really expect him to extracate himself from the NCW? He knows no other support system. Unless he somehow sees the light and becomes elightened to do the right thing and admit his wrongdoing, he will continue to be obedient to his Archbishop and Neo leaders who will shield him against the evil non-Neos and CCOG. I would be very suprised if he came forward on his own to accept the help and compassion of Non-Neos who would be more that willing to help him overcome his current ordeal. Please offer prayers to Fr. Luis asking the Holy Spirit to guide him in the right direction.

To my brother in Christ, Luis Camacho:

For the future safety of all people, you have an obligation to be absolutely honest. Since the Archdiocese has a zero tolerance policy, sadly your career as a priest is over. But if any good can come from this incident, it would be to fix whatever problems exist that made this situation possible.
Brother, you can redeem yourself in this community by improving the safety for all children. And after a good confession and true contrition, you can start to rebuild your life. And the people of Guam will respect that some good came of this tragedy, and that you were the reason for this future benefit.
My prayers are with you Luis!

4.51pm. Fr. Luis camacho can be helped. I believe he should be helped with the greatest compassion. His life as a priest is not over with good help, the right environment, with good priests he can be put right. This is a case worth trying to help. I always believed that when we help a priest deserving we serve our Blessed Lord.
I do believe with humility, prayer, honesty, good intention he can be helped.
To those who help a priest blessings will come to them. No matter how bad a situation may be with a priest, always help, with mercy, compassion, with justice, integrity, dignity.
I am not defending him, many of you know where I stand. But experience taught me we do everything we can to save a priest . Even if committed to a life of prayer and penance better to do that than lose a priest. justice, compassion, mercy, forgiveness.

    "Going Around In Circles"
Posted by Diana at 2:08 PM

I picked out just the title "Going Around In Circles" to remind Archbishop Apuron of what is happening to his flock.

The neo's are spinning around and around. Trying to change the Church that Jesus already made. And so they're off in circles. Did anybody got Jesus' permission to do such changing. Archbishop Anthony Apuron, you brought home to practice the style of the Neucatechemunal Way, and we see it's much difference from the Traditional Church. What has it done for us, and to us. I only see it left your flock on wheels rolling in opposite direction while under your command and unable to unite our suffering Church. Who's next What's next? Why? Why to this day aren't you able to to to TO DO SOMETHING. The pile of unfruitfulness keeps stacking up as if they must be fulfilled. The Church is not runned properly. Luis Camacho, The Angonizing Jesus Christ, He whom loves you. Praying for you. maybe you can help us instead!

  17. I agree, Louis should do the right thing and tell the truth. The island will forgive you if you are honest and truthful about the incident. If you choose not to you will continued to be questioned and your reputation as a man of God as well as a man in our community will forever be tarnished and your family embarrased. Pray God Gives you the strength to stand up with him and go the right thing. Man up!

  20. Fr.Matthew Blockley.March 21, 2015 at 8:30 PM

Today media called me regarding Fr. Luis Camacho and his Uncle Bishop Tomas Camacho .
I'm sure media were just interested in my normal provocative controversial statements which I'm known for. As many readers knows the name camacho is like oil and water to me.
As a priest I suffered greatly because of Fr. Luis Camacho's uncle. But I forgave him because it was the right thing to do. This week camachos make the headlines. I take no delight in this as I have expressed to the Holy See already this week. I am praying that the Former Bishop of Chalan Kanoa Tomas Camacho will at this time be a source of strength and spiritual help to Father Luis. Bishop camacho was not good to his priests, not even a spiritual father. This is why the Chalan Kanoa diocese today suffers from the worst kind of poverty, poverty of spirit, a poverty of such depth it is impossible for Rome to appoint a bishop to replace the former bishop.
As I reflected on all this, and in my other comments on Tim's. Blog , my prayer is very simple. I pray Bishop camacho will help Fr. Luis, to guide him, and to save the life of a priest. There was time in my life when I down in the gutter, a priest from New York came to help me when my bishop had failed me. if Bishop Camacho can now help Luis, it amends the great wrongs of the past. We are all heading to eternity, to meet our Lord, in the hopes of a place at the eternal banquet. All wrongs of the past should be corrected, penance and prayer, restitution. Every priest has a priestly heart, no matter what the situation, the Lord loves his priests, and wants us to help them. Past 18 moths on this blog I comment because of these issues with priests. I experienced the pain at the hands of a ranting bishop with power. I watched from a distance the pain of fr. Paul, and Monsignor James, all my friends. I assisted many priests, for spiritual reasons, because I know there is no greater ministry than serving a priest. I'm hoping it gets me afew days of purgatory. I pray bishop Camacho will really help and guide his nephew on the right spiritual path, which is ultimately Luis's salvation.
To Father Luis my advise is to immediately tell your story to the media. To consult with your brother priest's born of Guam. As I listened To Fr. mike on the pattei radio show last night I was so impressed with fr. mike and how he spoke. So many good priests are available to help a brother. Danger only comes to a priest when he is left alone neglected, uncared for by an ordinary. No body want that for Fr. Luis. justice, compassion, mercy, forgiveness after the mind and heart of Christ himself, and proclaimed today, by his vicar on earth, our beloved Holy Father Pope Framcis. Never hurt a priest because when you do, you place an extra nail in the body of Christ.

  21. Thoughts of Kikobird: " come on people, get your dirty minds out of the gutter, what other reason would a priest be doing with a 17 year old girl in a car at the beach, she was confiding in him, and he was just protecting her." ok. That's settled then. Thanks for posting, Diana. So helpful.

    1. Anyone who accepts that is in denial. At best, if they do believe he was just protecting her, they should protest to the Archbishop for forcing him to resign. Because if he was just protecting her, he should not have resigned and the only way he resigns is if he is forced to do so. When one is in denial to what happened, then nothing can proceed in terms of solving that problem.

    2. What is Truth?

The Blind Men and the Elephant

Well over one hundred years ago, an American poet put to rhyme an ancient parable. The first verse of the poem speaks about:
      Six men of Indostan
      To learning much inclined,
Who went to see the Elephant
(Though all of them were blind),
      That each by observation
      Might satisfy his mind.
In the poem each of the six travelers takes hold of a different part of the elephant and then describes to the others what he has discovered.

One of the men finds the elephant’s leg and describes it as being round and rough like a tree. Another feels the tusk and describes the elephant as a spear. A third grabs the tail and insists that an elephant is like a rope. A fourth discovers the trunk and insists that the elephant is like a large snake.

      Each is describing truth.

And because his truth comes from personal experience, each insists that he knows what he knows.

      The poem concludes:

And so these men of Indostan
      Disputed loud and long,
      Each in his own opinion
      Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong!1
We look at this story from a distance and smile. After all, we know what an elephant looks like. We have read about them and watched them on film, and many of us have even seen one with our own eyes. We believe we know the truth of what an elephant is. That someone could make a judgment based on one aspect of truth and apply it to the whole seems absurd or even unbelievable. On the other hand, can’t we recognize ourselves in these six blind men? Have we ever been guilty of the same pattern of thought?

I'm the kikobird, what Anonymous March 21, 2015 at 9:17 PM, posted is part of my sarcastic comment which was published by diana in denial

what was not - was my mocking the compassion given fr luis, but nothing for the girl, being treated like "eve" for tempting luis (fruits from the garden of tony)

  23. Fr. Luis has retreated to Saipan to be in the bosom and safety of his neo family. His aunt lives there as well as his other Neo family. I am sure he has been taken in by the San Vicente parish, which is totally Neo. Here is my question: Why is he allowed to travel? Isn't he still being investigated by the Attorney General?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Per the Archdiocese' own policy, he most definitely should be investigated for sexual misconduct, specifically via their own definition of exploitation. An investigation does not need an arrest to become initiated; in other words, regardless of any civil charges.

      Delete
    2. It's unlikely any charges will be made against Luis. The girl was beyond the age of consent and the AG doesn't have jurisdiction to charge a priest for breaking his vows. It's also not illegal for a girl to have an abortion but it doesn't make it okay.

Let him run home with his tail between his legs. He can't outrun his shame, no matter where he goes. What's sad is that given his behavior he will probably go on to sire a child and pass on his skid mark to an innocent soul. God forbid.

      Delete
    3. A problem with this discussion is the focus on criminal charges. And the Archbishop is counting on those of us who dwell on that to distract us from the cover up. The Archdiocese policy on sexual abuse and investigations initiated through that policy have nothing to with whether a criminal charge is levied or not.

Further, per the definition of sexual exploitation as stated in that policy, consent does not negate the policy. And for the sake of argument, even if the the victim is of the age of consent in this case, the definition of child, as stated in the Archdiocese policy, is any one under 18 years of age.

Hence, regardless of the existence of criminal charges or not, an investigation is in order according to the policy of the Archdiocese.

    4. Correct, Jose, which is why I'm making light of the civil process...because their won't be any. The real issue here is not the police, not what happened in the car, and not Fr. Luis. The real issue is Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron, from the stunted formation of these guys in the service of his own advancement to the cover ups. The issue is Anthony S. Apuron. The issue is Anthony S. Apuron. The issue is Anthony S. Apuron.

  24. Despite all the hoopla this controversial story has generated, we have not addressed the main issue at the core of all alleged and/or confirmed sexual bad behavior within our Church.
(here on Guam, but also at large around the world).
The main issue being the vow of celibacy that all Catholic priests take upon accepting their charge.
We have witnessed around the world, the destruction of trust, the destruction of lives, and the amazing number of ammunition these actions have given to the numerous enemies of our Holy
Church, because of these priests that have failed to keep their vow of celibacy.

It does not matter what age you are, what kind of tendency you have (sexual or otherwise), if as a priest, you have a strong faith, and a strong sense of duty and honor of your given word, you can (and this is more difficult that any of us can start to imagine) remain true to you vow of celibacy.
This is a matter of mind over matter, of ethics over the lack thereof.
I am lucky to have some very close friends that have chosen the priesthood. I have had this conversation with them many times: "how do you succeed in remaining celibate?"

We know that young men especially, have extremely strong natural urges (older man do too).
Therefore the faith of the person who has taken that oath, must be extremely strong, their belief in themselves and in their code of ethic must be beyond reproach.

Indeed, you see more and more candidates to the priesthood that do struggle with this issue.
This is why responsible dioceses and seminaries have addressed these issues, by implementing serious psychological vetting, good staffing at the seminaries to help these candidates discern their true feelings and help those with questions or struggles.

These policies were put in place because of the scandals that hit our church following the abuses of the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s that still rock many faithful.
We have heard all kind of horror stories, we have seen the emergence of groups like SNAP and others.
Some of the court settlement required that we did do a better job aiding in the formation of our priests.

Yet what do we observe here on Guam?:
A Bishop who has lost all moral compass (did he ever had any?)
An administration full of minions at every level.
The imposition of the RMS seminary, which many of us have decried has being just a factory of ill prepared young men.
Actually theses fears, regarding the RMS are very real..
Pius the henchman, a man expelled from his own island because of moral turpitude, is in fact in charge of the training of the seminarians. (talk about a wolf in the sheep pen)
The weird and cultish practices of the NCW.
A ghost faculty, which is riddle with teachers, that only exist in name.
A culture of "laissez faire" and a sentiment of impunity (since AAA covers up everything)

All this, could only lead to the sad story uncovered this past week.
We are partially responsible, because we have allowed this to happen by our silence.
The silence to the injustices of AAA, the silence to the abuse of the liturgy, the silence to the highway robbery of the Yona property, the silence about these strange and antisocial candidates to the priesthood, and the silence to the continued highjacking of our Church.

All this led to the creation of a climate where this young man, without the moral fiber and without the right support, who should have never been incardinated, ended up being put in charge of the souls of young people he should never have been able to approach alone.
In this period of lent, lets look at our shortcomings, which have allowed this Bishop and the evil people around him to take over our Church and bring such shame to all of us.

May this look upon our own sins, help us in our resolve to rid ourselves of this evil, and reclaim our Church, for the betterment of all its faithful.
