    2. 3:57 PM, I see you're having difficulty with comprehension, but it comes as no surprise seeing how you can't write to save your life.

    3. 3:57PM, what is it you don't understand. If it is the whole thing, then what is the point of explaining to you. You must understand a little bit and need just some clarification. So, what is it that you need clarification on?

    1. Oh, Adrian, no wonder you had to go to summer school to get through the seminary. Here's the whole statement:

      "...if an unmarried Catholic couple found themselves stranded and alone on a desert island with no priest to marry them, could that couple, if they desired to be married, morally engage in sexual relations?

      The answer is yes. And it is yes (assuming all the other factors are present — openness to life, etc.) because the Catholic Church teaches that it is the couple that confers the sacrament of matrimony upon themselves, not the Church."

      Now, pay attention. Notice I say "if they desired to be married (and) assuming all the other factors are present." Since you obviously missed this part of your formation, the other factors would be competency, current marital state (not married), age, potency, degrees of separation by blood, physical capacity for consumation, opennes to life, intent to be faithful, etc.

      Look it up, Adrian. Meanwhile, don't you have something else to do today besides stalk me?

    3. Here is the relevant canon. The desert island example is an extreme hypothetical. More probably, there are situations where Catholic couples have no access to a priest or deacon. In such case, the couple can validly marry before witnesses only. In the desert island example, even witnesses would not be required for the same reason a priest or deacon is not required as noted in this provision:

      Can. 1116 §1. If a person competent to assist according to the norm of law cannot be present or approached without grave inconvenience, those who intend to enter into a true marriage can contract it validly and licitly before witnesses only:

      1/ in danger of death;

      2/ outside the danger of death provided that it is prudently foreseen that the situation will continue for a month.
