PDN: 'UNBORN VICTIMS' BILL TO MOVE FORWARD

Thank you to Bob Klitzkie for offering a critical amendment without which the bill - if passed - probably had no chance of being enforced.

A bill that would recognize unborn children as legal victims in cases where an expectant mother is injured or killed during a violent crime is likely to move to the Legislature’s session floor for debate later this month. (Continued)

  1. Thank you Bob for speaking up. Where were all the Church officials? No Deacon Frank, Archbishop Tony, etc. I guess they were to busy for the kids.

    1. Thank God they weren't there. At least now the bill has a chance of passing.

  2. Yes, indeed. Leave it to the lay people, but object when the laity rise up against archdiocesan injustice. Thank you, Klitzkies, Bob and Lou!

    1. Yes thank you to Mr. Klitzkie for his testimony. As for the church officials, we all heard it from brother tony that he has no clue why his flock is speaking out. So what makes us think he would EVER speak up in a legislative public hearing. Sad is all I can say.

    2. I appreciate this bill because I remember as a child my father repeatedly kicking my mother in the stomach when she was pregnant in hopes of causing a miscarriage. Back then in the 1950's and 1960's the police didn't intervene when husbands battered their wives and children.

  3. It's only about killing babies. If it was about gambling, he'd be there.

  4. The lone figure of former Sen. Klitzkie testifying was edifying when I saw the news but I admit it also haunted me that night. How can we know about these testimonials so we can make plans to show up? I believe this is a powerful venue and sends a more substantial message than waving at commuters on a Sunday afternoon and forcing our kids to participate. The look-see pattern of Apuron's superficiality is evident in this simple gesture. The ideal image of him sitting along with Sen. Klitzkie would have manifested a substantial support for the "definition of the unborn" legislation more than the empty display of getting kids to wave to passers-by. Then again...we know too well how he rolls.

    1. At this pint Apuron's presence would have insured the defeat of the bill.
