ROY QUINTANILLA WILL JOIN PICKETERS SUNDAY

Posted by Webster.

Roy is coming home to bury his brother Peter. If you recalled, Peter had Down Syndrome and had been a source of stability for Roy, helping him cope with his darkest secret that Apuron had inflicted. God took Peter not too long after Roy came forward, having lived far beyond the average life expectancy of those with Down Syndrome.

Roy will bury Peter Saturday. Then he and his family will join the picketers Sunday morning at 9. He leaves shortly thereafter.

Join Roy as we continue our cause to defrock Apuron and to reclaim our Church.

Hold the Picket Line. The Battle Continues. March On!!!

  3. Fr. Paul's installation as rector will take place at the 9:30 Mass at the Cathedral. Will the picketing coincide with this? I want to support Fr. Paul.

    1. Yes, the picketing will continue as scheduled no matter what happens at the 930 Mass. Fr. Paul has chosen not to support us so we shall continue. We understand we are going to lose people.

    2. Eileen,
I will congratulate Fr. Paul brfore Sunday or after the picketing. I want my message regarding the archdiocese mess to remain loud and clear. Fr. Paul understands we have much of Apuron's mess to help clean up.

    3. BTW We're not protesting Fr. Paul. Apuron is still the Archvishop. RMS is still open. The property is still in its control. The Neo marches on. And There has been no justice for Apuron's victims.

    4. Let it be crystal clear that we are not protesting Fr. Paul's assignment. Our outrage is still about the RMS property not in control of the archdiocese. Apuron could still re-appear in full regalia as the archbishop to wreak more havoc. And there has still been no justice for Apuron's victims. I understand fully what the picket procession means...AND WE WILL BE THERE!

  4. I support Fr. Paul. I will continue with my picket as usual on Sunday. I know Fr. Paul understands and admires us for our diligence in our cause. It's for the benefit of our whole Catholic church and our priests. May God continue to help & guide us.

  5. I will be attending the 930am mass but will wear my Katoliku tee. As Tim says, the protest continues. Rightly so.

    1. If you are in the church for the Mass then you have crossed the picket. That means you reject the cause. You decide. Paul's installation was scheduled precisely to break the picket and divide the CCOG. The T shirt means nothing.

    2. Says who? I have attended the picket before and Sunday I will also attend the mass at 930 and I won't be divided about it at all. Not sure why it sounds like an ultimatum. I support the cause and I support fr paul as well.

    3. Your response is just as Hon had hoped. If you cross the picket, don't bother to join it later.

    4. Going to the 9:30 Mass supports Hon, not Father Paul. Let's continue the fight.

    5. 6:03 PM you can fall for Hon's ploy or you continue to do do what got Father Paul his assignment, the picket. Going to Mass doesn't help Father Paul, he's already got what he wants. Going to Mass will help Hon who said we'd be gone in two weeks. Do you really want to help Hon?

  6. Let us count our blessings. Fr. Paul being assigned to the Agana Cathedral is already a plus. I am sure he understands the reasons for picketing was not, and is not, all about him. We shall continue to picket, but now with the knowledge that we have a friend "inside" in the person of Fr. Paul.

    1. If it weren't for Father Paul's friends who have been picketing outside the church, he wouldn't be inside the church.

  7. seems like their plan is working via Fr. Paul being placed at the Cathedral. And it's true walking the picket line then suddenly attending because of a loved priest/friends special mass. They should have held it at the next mass but they're hoping by doing this it will break the group.:-) funny and slick.

    1. Hon is playing a game of chess and we're the pawns. The 0930 Father Paul Mass is meant to put us in check.

  8. I still support CCOG and have made donations. I personally don't feel that attending the Mass for Fr. Paul negates that support.
I respect that we all have to decide for ourselves how to proceed.

    2. Going to the Mass makes YOU feel good. It doesn't help Father Paul but does help Hon. If you play Hon's game you are going against the picketers who have been out there for months. It was their picketing that caused Hon to put Father Paul as rector. Do you want to support Hon or the picketers?

    4. Eileen, I see that you no longer support our cause. As Treasurer of the CCOG I have been authorized to refund whatever amount you donated. Please advise me on that amount and where to send the check.

    5. Wow! What's happening, guys? Why is wanting to go to one mass (for Fr. Paul) all of a sudden equivalent to joining the Neos? Why is it reason enough to reject the financial support of one of the more loyal and outspoken members of the Anti-apuron/anti-Neo camp? Gerald, I'm sorry to say your message to Eileen bb remind
me of the Neo's attitude. Please take a deep breath, take a step back, look into a mirror and repeat the words you just said to Eileenbb. I didn't feel good reading them; I hope you will feel the same way.

    6. In fairness to Eileen it is possible to still support the cause financially and be inside the cathedral.
I donate to several political candidates but i only support one. If six discovered i didvnot vote for them i would not expect returned donations. I would be insulted. This war is about truth justice principle.

    7. Lets also remember Roy.
      Tomorrow we support him also.
The focus is not all about Paul.

    8. Eileen, be strong, and congratulate Fr. Paul another time. You don't have to attend his installation mass. Archbishop Hon is not even going to preside--he left for Rome! So, he's probably getting a chuckle that we are even debating this matter! So, picketers unite and stay the course. You are doing the right thing. It is not disrespectful to Fr. Paul. He will not be offended, because none of the picket signs say, "Defrock Paul", so those who are going to his mass, are not that strongly committed to the cause.

    9. Thank you but I am following my conscience as you are following yours.
You have no right to comment about my commitment to the cause of restoring our archdiocese. I would never presume to comment about your commitment. Why can't you have the courage of your convictions and USE YOUR NAME?

  9. I understand how difficult this is for some. There was a reason the demonstrations evolved from just standing across the street to a picket line on the cathedral side of the street. A picket is a line in the sand. To cross it means something. There is a reason Roy Quintanilla will be in that picket line after burying his brother.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I will not cross the line. Apuron has not been laicized and the RMS continues to exist as a sham.

Fr. Paul is not going to crumble because we don't attend the 9:30 Mass.

    1. I, too, will not cross the line. This is bigger than Fr. Paul. I, along with my entire family, support Fr. Paul but will not cross this line in the sand. It is a calculated move, having Fr. Paul installed at this mass time. It could have been done at a later or earlier mass.

  12. I never dreamed I would have to fight for the existence of my church. Looking at the "big picture," that's what this is.

Individual instances of injustice are important.
    Specific concerns are important.
    Principles are important.

But none of these matter if we lose our church.

    "That will never happen."

Really? Do you know how close we came to losing it all? Do you realize how close we came to the edge of the cliff? The plans of Gennarini, Pius, Apuron, Adrian and David were this close to being a "fait accompli." The "NEOCATIFICATION" Guam was almost a done deal. If it weren't for a voice crying out, "Wake up people, look at what's happening" we would see flowers and menorahs on a banquet tables in every church in Guam.

This is why I go home after the early mass and put on my comfortable walking shoes, drive back to the cathedral, pick up a sign and begin marching with my friends. We will NOT go down without a fight.

Fr. Paul and the island's clergy and religious, please continue to pray for us. We are not picketing you. We are picketing an errant archbishop and his minions who deceived us and committed untold harm on the people of this island.

I will march on Sunday. I will continue to march with my family of faith. We will continue to march until one day we look up and see the reasons for the march are no longer there. That is when we will put down the signs, soak our feet and thank God for giving us courage and strength. That is when we will have earned the words we long to hear: "My good and faithful servant."

  13. As one who has supported the cause of Fr. Paul Gofigan since his removal from SBCC in July 2013 my initial response to his assignment as Rector of the Cathedral-Basilica was one of gratitude. I wanted to attend the installation ceremony marking his new assignment.

As one who has been walking the picket line — albeit slowly — with my DEFROCK APURON sign propped on my Rollator from 0900-0945 on Sunday mornings, I tried to rationalize and justify my going in late to the Mass AFTER picketing and wearing my Katoliku t-shirt. I told myself "After 9:45, the picketing would be over and there would be no line to cross" BUT my very wise daughter told me that I could try to rationalize all I want, but I would be crossing the picket line in principle. She pretty much told me: Either you're with the picket line or you're not — and I should choose.

I realized my daughter was correct. And then two things happened: (1) I read the 31 August JW post Who Will Be the Pastor of the Agana Cathedral And Why the Fight Goes On AND (2) I learned that the Apostolic Administrator would be leaving for Rome on 1 September and would not be presiding over Fr. Paul's installation as Rector as he did for the installation of Fathers Jeff and Lito as Delegate and Chancellor respectively. I'm not sure which of the two sealed my decision, but it was clear that popping into the 9:30 Mass after picketing is NOT an option for me.

I'm trying to convince myself that Fr. Paul's new status as Rector is preferable to that as "priest in residence" which he was when Anthony Sablan Apuron finally assigned him to SASVCC. But there's a part of me that wonders why — if the Apostolic Administrator HONestly wanted to demonstrate a willingness to bring Serenity, Harmony, Unity and Peace to the Archdiocese — Fr. Paul and Msgr. James were not RESTORED to the parishes from where Apuron removed them. It would have made more sense for the AA to have rescinded Fr. Paul's Decree of Removal, returned him and Msgr. James to their parishes, and then make the reassignments. Something is still "off" about the AA's action …

On the morning of 4 September, I will be where I have been for several months of Sundays — walking the picket line rolling my DEFROCK APURON sign in front of the Cathedral-Basilica from 0900-0945. And when the picketing is over, my husband will place my sign back in our vehicle and we'll be back on 11 September, 18 September, etc. … for as long as it takes.

    1. I agree wholeheartedly. I rejoiced that a non-NCW presbyter would be taking over as rector. Yes, I also wondered why Fr. Paul and Msgr. James were not RESTORED to their positions and only then made the reassignments.

  15. Fr. Jeff San Nicolas, as the representative of AB Hon will install Fr. Paul as rector.
