APURON: BIG FAIL

PDN: Fall of an archbishop; Byrnes set to arrive, steps in for Apuron

PACIFC DAILY NEWS

When Archbishop Michael Jude Byrnes arrives today, he will step into a fractured community of the faith.

Officially, he is coming to assist Archbishop Anthony Apuron in running the Archdiocese of Agana, and to serve as Apuron’s successor. But Apuron has been out of the public eye since June, when the Vatican suspended him and sent Archbishop Savio Hon Tai Fai to temporarily oversee the Guam church. Apuron faces what an archdiocese spokesman described as “credible accusations of child sexual abuse against him,” and a canonical trial is being prepared in Rome. CONTINUED

  1. What an embarrassment to the people of guam when there is a headline like that on the front page of pdn. ApuRUN really took advantage of his position, profited and really hid behind the cloth and our Catholic faith. Even in the videos he's sent, it's clear that he's selfish and was just thinking of himself and no one else. Not once did he even bother to sit down with his accuser. With Saint John Paul II, at least he sat down with the person who shot him. That in itself showed great strength in what prayer and forgiveness truly is. Just like Jesus when He took up the cross for everyone of our sins. We are humans and not perfect but apuRUN truly showed us how weak he is.

Thank you tim, the CCOG, the laity and all those who have fought to expose the truth in this archdiocese and pray for true healing. Thank you all for those who have picketed in front of the cathedral to make our voices be heard. I continue to pray for our church everyday.

  2. Apurons entire life was one big sham. so many suffered in their personal lives because of him. He was just a fake sham working under the church.

  3. That is why he became a follower of the Neocatechumenal Way which is a fake sham working to undermine the church.

  5. Rather then pray for the victims, he tried to use his power to garner prayers for himself. Such a selfish act and a complete shame as the holder of an archbishop title. Hopefully he gets DEFROCKED so that our beloved diocese can begin to heal.

  6. KOLG Should cease all programs of Apuron praying the rosary and singing religious songs on the air, This is scandalous in light of the fact that there are victims who have come forth accusing him of sexually abusing them, not to mention the division he has caused in the church including the giving away of church assets to foreigners. I cant imagine all the pain these victims endure recollecting their hellish encounter as they hear their abuser singing "O Holy Night", or "Joy to the World" on the radio during the Christmas season.

    1. KOLG is controlled by Dakon Tenorio, who I happen to have some surprises for. Archbishop Byrnes first order of business should be to remove Tenorio from everything, including Kamalin Karidat. He's probably burning documents as we speak.

    2. Anon 10:35, I agree. KOLG should be edited immediately so that we are not subjected to the sound of Apuron's voice.
