HAPPY HOLIDAYS (AND NOT "MERRY CHRISTMAS")

By Tim Rohr

In 2011, I wrote a column for the Umatuna, the newspaper for the Archdiocese of Agana, as to why Catholics (and all Christians) should - prior to Christmas - say "Happy Holidays" and not "Merry Christmas."

It's an issue that comes up almost every year under the generic Christian banner of "keep Christ in Christmas" ... even though the "mas" (Mass) part of Christmas is absolutely ignored.

I re-share that column here as posted on my other blog:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
