TWINS?

Fr. Pius Sammut, O.C.D.
I was told yesterday that on Tuesday evening, Fr. Pius explained the Fr. Wadeson affair to the Archbishop's neo-community in the presence of the Archbishop. He was reported to have said that the reason Fr. Wadeson's past had never been revealed was that because the allegations were false: that there was only one minor involved and not two as reported. And that the reason why it was reported as two is because the minor was a twin.

Up till now, I probably would have laughed the report off as impossible. No one in their right mind could possibly have used that as a reason to have not explained the issue with Fr. Wadeson. However, given what this bunch has been willing to lie about, and demonstrably so, I am willing to believe anything at this point.

However, if you were there, and you are willing to vouch that this story is not true. You are welcome to send me an email with your real name and tell me that it isn't. I will keep your name private and I will make another post saying that the report was not true. Or you are welcome to do the same here as a comment.

Note: Since the posting of the petition to have Fr. Pius Sammut removed from this Archdiocese by the Carmelite order he still belongs to, there have been several inquiries about who he is. For those of us who know him, we believe he is the major source of division in this diocese and has been so ever since he came here in the mid-90's. Besides that he is listed in the 2013 Archdiocesan Directory as the Secretary of the Blessed Diego Institute (really?) and along with Ms. Patricia Cottman and Michele Pedroni (who?) as part of the Itinerant Catechist team for Guam. He is also said to be Archbishop Apuron's personal spiritual advisor (do you see the problem?). He is known to frequently come and go, using Guam as a base. Who pays for his coming and going? We don't know. Perhaps this will show up in the financial report the Archbishop has promised to publish...years after he was told to by the Vatican.

  1. Geez, when I saw the Title Twins, I thought I was going to have a cardiac arrest. Lord help us, Pius has a twin?! Whew, he doesn't! No need for more nightmares!

  2. For a long time now, whenever I hear Fr. Pius' name I think of the story of Rasputin, the monk who served as the "spiritual" advisor to Tsar Nicholas II. Google it.

    3. Hello, Escape Goat? Estatue? hahaha

Dear Anonymous @ 10:24p: what I find most telling is that you very specifically call out the majority of the Catholic Community on Guam (most of those who comment on this page and speak out against the Archbishop) as a separate entity from the Neocatecumenal Way (I purposefully misspell it because to do otherwise would directly associate it with its root word "catechism," and that, in my opinion, dishonors the word). There's an "us" vs. "you" attitude which I understand comes from your perceived persecution of your sect (a word I spell correctly as it truly defines the Neocatecumenate movement) by the larger Catholic Church (not just here on Guam). However, here's a newsflash: the Catholic Church, from what I understand, came first - instituted by Jesus Christ himself, and passed down traditionally by the rock upon whom the church was built, St. Peter. How do thousands of years' worth of tradition become null and void because a man decided he was going to go back to the olden days of the church? And how does he know this? This is what always kills me -- the argument that the Neocatecumenate performs its Eucharist the way it was done in the early Catholic Church. How do you *know* this?

Also, while I have the floor, I'd like to tell you why it's important to have an altar vs. a table. Yes, the Eucharist is a meal, but it's not just any other meal. It's the consecrated Body and Blood of Christ. The Jewish used to build altars to offer up sacrifices to God. Consecrating the bread and wine over an altar honors this tradition as He was God's ultimate sacrifice (the Lamb of God). The moment of anamnesis, to me, is the most awesome and awe-filled experience we can witness.

Monsignor James once preached that it's in this moment that all time becomes immaterial, and the all our yesterdays, todays, and tomorrows become one. I sit at the same table as Jesus, my ancestors, my brothers and sisters in the present, and my descendants.

So throw all your insults our way, we know who we are. We are bound by a rich tradition handed down in a century of centuries.

But the usage of "Escape Goat" is still hecka funny.

    5. A certain someone gave "Diana" the "Escape goat" quote to use, but they did so verbally and she misheard it (and didn't know what it really meant).

  5. I just visited Diana' blog. Reading the "entire interview" of Fr Pius. My first thought was that our Archbishop is no longer in charge, he has seemingly relinquished his authority to the NCW and or Pius (or are the one in the same?). My second reaction was to shudder in fear for our church here in Guam.

  6. We must remain vigilant and work with each other. We can't depend on media news cycle. We have to study up and converse with each other. Pray together.

  7. If Satan had a twin, he'd look just like that man from Malta. Both were cast away from their homeland because of their evil doings.
