WEED AND THE ARCHBISHOP

How many of you think that the vote for WEED was really a vote against AAA? I know some who voted precisely for that reason.

  1. I know some NCW members who voted yes because they are habitual users! Guess they didn't listen and obey!

  2. The Archbishop’s vocal position on the marijuana vote just a week or two before the election, was simply not only a negligent TOO LITTLE TOO LATE attempt, but yet again, another feeble attempt to fool the Catholic congregation and squeeze in a desperately last minute (lame) appearance that his last minute voice was a pro-active action of a “concerned diocesan pastor” -- ya, right!

That we continue observing how this Archbishop habitually belittles the faithful Catholics of our island by offending our intelligence, angers me and many other faithful Catholics of our island!

  3. I think it's pretty clear that the Archbishop has lost a great deal of credibility as a spiritual and influencial leader in speaking to vital issues and concerns affecting the Guam community. I fully agree that his voiced opposition and pastoral letter in the Umatuna were negligible at best in bringing about the defeat of the marijuana referendum. It should be interesting to see how the Catholic faithful will respond to other issues he may take a position on.

    1. I don't bother reading his column in the U Matuna. He doesn't walk the talk, he just talks.

    2. I agree; his credibility is shot. What a joke. AAA, OFM, DD is so much in denial it's ridiculous. What leader would put his own needs before his flock???? Oh wait, AAA, OFM, DD.

  4. For sure Tim the vote for weed was a vote to say Archbishop Apuron you are no longer a respected voice in this community.

  5. Archbishop Apuron a failed moral leader of Guam. No one will listen to this ranting individual because he has no moral or ethical standard. The man has lost his mind and frankly speaking has lost moral authority by his own doing. The drug in the community is not marijuana but the juice of apuron's kilo cult. This is the drug that has destroyed the moral fibre of the Catholic Church in Guam.

  6. Well, I had dinner with a Guam senator and we agreed it is time to stop Anthony and his cult taking over our island community.

  7. the host of "the buzz" last night on kuam in regards to bishops letter- "he's got his own internal problems". lol, that's putting it lightly.

@ Anonymous November 5, 2014 at 12:15 PM, it's not like you can vote him out, nor are we able to force him out by the looks of things. we need to make a lot of noise, so that Rome can sit up and take notice.

  8. Apuron is unable to lead the archdiocese. For this reason he has become a joke to the community, a grave sign of disunity, and no longer an authentic voice of the Catholic faith. For this reason there is no longer any need to follow this archbishop since he does not speak with the mind and heart of Rome.

  10. Maybe if the archbishop started smoking marijuana he would become more relaxed and mellow and stop lashing out at our non-NCW priests and lay people. Marijuana would be a less harmful addiction that the NCW. :)
