SECOND NOTE TO CARDINAL FILONI

Cardinal Fernando Filoni
Prefect for The Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples
Piazza di Spagna, 48-00187
Rome, Italy
Email: segreteria@propagandafide.va

April 2, 2015

Your Eminence:

This isn't going to work.

While the archbishop (at your recommendation) attempts to make nice with the two priests he publicly brutalized, it has been credibly reported that he has secretly shipped Fr. Luis Camacho off to the neo-mecca in Israel (after first having secretly shipped him off to Saipan).

The problem Your Eminence is that Fr. Camacho is the priest who is the subject of the current canonical investigation which Archbishop Apuron announced on March 18 after the priest was arrested.

Need we ask about the integrity of a canonical investigation wherein the primary suspect is shipped off by the primary investigator (the archbishop) to the other side of the world?

Need we ask about the sincerity of any show of reconciliation by the archbishop on the one hand while he further offends with the other?

Your Eminence, we do not want Luis Camacho's blood, nor do we want the archbishop's.

What we want is for you and your Congregation to see the absolute perversion which has been wrought upon this diocese since Giuseppe Gennarini and Pius Sammut infected it with their disease, the strand of which has proven to be particularly virulent since here it found a weak and willing host.

What we want is for you to stop sending us Roman bandaids when the problem is cancer.

Respectfully,

Tim Rohr and many other Catholics of the Archdiocese of Agana

  2. Let's start loud protests with signs calling out local and Roman official.

    Signs like:

"Why has the Vatican abandoned us?"

"No more hiding alleged sexual abusers"

    "Where is the money going?"

You all get the point don't you? These signs with loud protest will gain Nat'l exposure faster than anything else. Our problems will be understood by many just from these simple statements. Public opinion will be shaped without having to lay out all the facts on the table. Rome might actually get off their a$$ and respond rather quickly than what their track record shows.

Guam and Saipan have been in total moral decay with camacho and Apuron for over twenty years. They are the very cause of the moral disaster in the western pacific.

    1. Epic FAIL for both Church leaders. They strayed from their major responsibilies and we are witnessing and experiencing the consequences of their actions and inaction.

  4. First of all, it needs to be absolutely established that charges against Camacho were "dropped". If so, then for him to "travel" to a foreign country should be okay. However, if the charges are still pending, Camacho should have remained on Guam to answer to those charges, and by having AAA "assist" him in getting out of here, AAA has committed a criminal act. Aiding and Abetting is a CRIME and since it deals with travel to a foreign country, the Federal Bureau of Investigation should be involved.

    1. Hi Raymond, this is why I wrote Cardinal Filoni and not the AG and why I inquired about the canonical and not criminal investigation. While we can and should concern ourselves about the criminal element if there is one (feel free to FOIA the police and the AG), our primary concern is a bishop who has called for a canonical investigation and then promptly sent the primary suspect about as far as he could send them. This then falls within the jurisdiction of Cardinal Filoni. Thus my letter.

    2. Tim, I understand that focus should be on the AAA, however, this situation is considered a Flight from Justice. Therefore, Camacho (again, if the charges are still pending) should be considered a FUGITIVE, eluding justice, and anyone aiding him (in this case, AAA) is guilty of a criminal act. The AAA may think that the church should consider this time a Cooling Off period by getting Camacho as far as possible, but Justice does not take kindly to this type of delay tactic.

If Cardinal Filoni will not act accordingly, then let's make the complaint to the federal authorities and have action taken against AAA. If this action against a cleric does not motivate Rome, then nothing else will.

    3. I'm all for it, but who will look into the case to see if there are charges?

    4. Raymond, do you seriously think anything will come about as a result of Apuron sending Luis Camacho abroad? First of all, the only charge that has been publicly reported against Camacho is "Custodial Interference" which is a mere misdemeanor and not worth the Feds pursuing. Secondly, if the parents of the 17 year-old girl, who are members of the Neo community say that they gave permission for Camach to pick up their daughter, then the Custodial Interference charge will likely be dropped. The Feds are not going to pay attention to a mere misdemeanor charge which will probably be dismissed.

    5. If I am following this correctly, Luis was booked and released on a misdemeanor charge. If th AG, through its investigation, sees fit to add on more serious charges then it has to be presented to a grand jury. If he's indicted then a warrant of arrest will be issued, and if Luis evades the Law and doesn't surrender himself the he'll be a fugitve.
As Tim pointed out, the fact that a canonical investigation has been set in motion by AAA then undermined and possibly sabotaged by none other than AAA makes a mockery of the system. Again, more buffoonery from the archbuffon.

    7. It doesn't seem like Rome is at all concerned about what has been happending on Guam with everything that has been reported since the Luis Camacho incident. I am very disappointed at the lack of any action and wonder just what it will take for Rome to realize that we, the Catholic Faithful on Guam, are seriously hurting and experiencing the severe decline of our local Church. Isn't it obvious that Guam has a corrupt bishop who has been allowed to abuse his authority and power without any consequence. He has continued to get away with one abuse after another and as long as he isn't held accountable for his actions, he will continue his abuse of power. The sad thing is that he probably isn't even aware that his actions have gravely and irreparably harmed as well as greatly polarized the local church. The laudable efforts of Tim Rohr and the Junge Watch Blog as well as the efforts of the Concerned Catholics of Guam Group have more than adequately documented the abuses committed by Apuron to justify action by Rome. So, what are you waiting for Rome? Please do not allow this corrupt and divisivie causing bishop to remain in office for the next five years. It will only result in the further decay and moral decline of our local church.

Anonymous (April 2, 2015 at 8:51 AM), of course ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will come out on the civil side of the Presbyter Luis Camacho scandal.

That is why Tim has been focusing on the "canonical investigation," which was supposed to be held, per the Archdiocese of Agana's Sex Abuse Policy of 2002. To be sure, appointing Presbyter Luis' fellow Presbyters — Alberto, Edivaldo, Pius and David the VG — was nothing more than another NCW illusion, to delude the average Guam Catholic that a panel of "canonical investigators" had been formed. Of course we know it's no more than another Pack of LIES to try and mollify the emotions of the average Guam Catholic whose ears prick up at the latest news/scandal and then promptly forgets all about what is at the root of the CANCER that continues to metastasize throughout the Archdiocese of Agana.

As Anonymous (April 2, 2015 at 6:05 AM) commented, " If Rome is not part of the solution, then it becomes part of the problem."

We, Guam's "Regular Catholics" are members of the Church Militant. We need to arm ourselves not only with prayer and the Sacraments but also with information (via the Catechism of the Catholic Church, as well as JungleWatch and the CCOG Village Meetings) to be part of the SOLUTION and DEFEND our One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church!

    9. Yes, ANON 8:51, I do seriously think so. The incident may be a "mere misdemeanor" however the incident of "hiding or hindering" from justice, is serious enough for authorities to take action, most especially if an individual runs off to another country. Until such time that the charge is dropped (and we still don't know for certain that it was dropped), justice still needs to prevail. If the AAA had anything to do with Camacho's departure, and it can be proved, he too, should be held accountable and charged accordingly.

    10. There is the presumption that Rome can "do something." Just as Apuron did not have the authority to remove Fr. Paul without due process, Rome has even less authority to remove a bishop. Unfortunately, there are few provisions in church law for dealing with bad bishops - maybe its because bishops run things (sort of like lawmakers exempting themselves from their own laws). However, Rome has shown that it will act when the public scandal gets big enough. The people of Guam has - so far - demonstrated that most are only willing to express their opinions anonymously. Thus, aside from their "visit", there is no cause for Rome to act. And Apuron, Gennarini, Pius, et. al. are counting on "the silence of the lambs"....as they are led to slaughter. It's up to you. NOT ROME.

She has no business teaching or being around children or teenagers. She's supposed to put her students' best interests first at all times in school or out.

    1. Yes. What an example this sets. Being a pastor is hard work and I'm sure Luis hardly wanted the job after 10 years living in a seaside resort complete with maid service. So he gets down on an altar girl and then is promptly rewarded with an all-expense paid trip to the Holy Land for Holy Week via a rest stop in Saipan. He will be taken care of the rest of his life by the people of the Archdiocese of Agana and Kiko will give him some nice cushy place to stay as some community's resident presbyter.

      STOP THE MONEY!

If Fr Luis is truly in Jerusalem, then every parent there should be greatly concerned. No matter where he is parents should be concerned since Tony has allowed a sex abuser to roam free and prey on young girls.
This is a sin of epic proportions, done right in our faces by our own shepherd.
Time to warm up our battle cry:
      Real Eyes
      Realize
      Real Lies
Tony and kiko - we are onto you and we are watching and reporting!
Rome - for God's sake, we need your action now more than ever!

    3. Glad to be Back to Holy Mother ChurchApril 2, 2015 at 10:18 AM

Someone yesterday told me he felt sorry for Fr Luis, because he was as much an innocent victim as was the girl he sexually abused. This attitude is not only wrong, but dangerous to our society.
If Fr Luis was sorry for his actions he should act like a man and own up to his mistake. We all make mistakes, and when we do we are expected to acknowledge them and work to improve ourselves.
Fr Luis should come back to Guam, and publicly apologize to the family and the girl for what he has done. If he was the product of faulty formation, then he should say so and ask for more formation. If he has a problem control his libido, then he should say so and ask for help in this area. Always sad to lose a priest, so if he can be saved that is great. But he has to be a man now, admit his faults, fix the problems and move forward. Hiding in Jerusalem, or Saipan, or in some other clandestine NCW community for problematic priests is not a solution the Church should be willing to accept.

    4. Thinking Luis will leave presbyterate after all Tony's efforts. That will be a big old VULNUS, huh? After all, he said at Chrism Mass he is suffering too. BUT ...if annullment is not allowed, how the heck do you get out of Kiko's presbyterate?? Impisoned forever on the mount of Beatitudes? Living thr Jewish/Christian life?

      Delete
    5. I was the first to cut Luis some slack. I have seen the problems at the seminary since the early 2000's. He is malformed, and purposely so. And while I'd like to call him out to be a man, most of us who know how this cult works would have serious questions as to whether Fr. Luis could do so even if he wanted to. The "imprisoned forever on the Mount of Beatitudes" comment above may very likely depict the reality. And from what I've been told, neither the girl nor the parents are interested in an apology. If anything, the Catholics of Guam should get an apology from the archbishop for screwing us out of the quarter of a million dollars we spent on his 10 year vacation at RMS.

  6. He will spend an all expenses paid vacation rehab at the domus galileae doing easy labor. This will probably be for 6 months to a year. Then they will probably send him to another dioceses or hide him as an underground vice rector at some RMS.

AnonymousApril 2, 2015 at 9:47 AM says: "Then they will probably send him to another dioceses or hide him as an underground vice rector at some RMS." Sadly, this is the kiko mentality and anon has hit the nail on the head.
As we saw with Fr John, who was listed as a formator, he spent most of his time completely unsupervised by our archdiocese in San Fran ministering to the youth in kiko-dom there. I wonder how many victims in San Fran had to be silenced?
And even if his real job was as formator in RMS Guam, what was he teaching, and was he abusing boys there?
All of these are legitimate questions and we have gotten no answers from the Chancery.
    Disgusting!
