VERY DISTURBING NEWS

It appears the Agana Cathedral is "selling" indulgences:

I have very disturbing news:

Coreen (Leon Guerrero) indicated today, during a lecture to the parents of First Holy Communion candidates, that the Holy Father has granted the Cathedral Basilica (ONLY this church, because it is the 'mother' church; the Vatican church - NO other church ON Guam) strict right to Plenary Reconciliation. She said that if you confess at the Cathedral, all your sins will be forgiven, without punishment, from the moment you received First Holy Communion to the present day. She indicated, if you go to confession at another parish on Guam, you will be forgiven, but will still have to pay for your sins in purgatory. So, basically, she is saying confession doesn't really mean anything in any other parish - ONLY at Cathedral. This is a clear effort on behalf of the  ArchBishop/Neos to try and force people to come back to the Cathedral - and they are doing it in the Pope's name. According to Coreen, the people only have THIS YEAR to come back to Cathedral to be forgiven for their sins without punishment. After 2015, your souls will be lost in purgatory.

We were not the only parents that were extremely disturbed by this proclamation. AJ (Balajadia) challenged Coreen, who didn't have an explanation other than the Holy Father granted Cathedral this specific special rite. In speaking with other parents after the meeting, they are just as concerned with the education their children have received in Cathedral's CCD program. Most agreed, including AJ and I, that we will be pulling our children from CCD at Cathedral and registering then at parishes with no Neo influence.

Here is the actual decree. Note there is NO requirement to "confess at the Cathedral" in order to obtain the plenary indulgence, only the obligation to "visit the Cathedral of Agaña, under the title of the Most Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the form of a pilgrimage and there devotedly participate in the jubilee celebrations..."

Decree from the Holy Father Granting Plenary Indulgences
The Apostolic Penitentiary, in virtue of the faculties granted to it by Our Holy Father Francis, grants a Jubilee Year with the connected plenary indulgence, with the customary conditions (sacramental confession, eucharist communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff) rightly fulfilled, to be gained by the truly penitent faithful, which may be applied even to the souls in Purgatory by way of intercession, if they should visit the Cathedral of Agaña, under the title of the Most Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the form of a pilgrimage and there devotedly participate in the jubilee celebrations, rightly determined by His Excellency, the Most

Reverend Metropolitan Archbishop, or at least through a suitable space of time will have been occupied with pious considerations, including the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, and with invocations of the Holy Virgin, the Mother of God. Those pious faithful who are prevented by age or grave sickness, may equally be able to attain the plenary indulgence, having arrived at a detestation of whatever sin, and having formed the intention, where it should be possible, of fulfilling the three conditions, if they should add themselves spiritually to the jubilee celebration and the pilgrimages, having offered their prayers and sufferings to a merciful God.

So that access to the divine gift through the keys of the Church might be rendered easier by pastoral charity, this Penitentiary earnestly asks that priests endowed with suitable faculties for hearing confessions, might offer themselves in the cathedral church with a prompt and generous spirit for the celebration of Penance and that they might often bring communion to the sick.

The present [stipulations] are to be in force throughout the Golden Jubilee of Agaña, everything to the contrary not in the least withstanding.

Given at Rome, in the halls of the Apostolic Penitentiary, on the 22nd of September, A. D. 2014. Maurus Piacenza, Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church Christopher Nykiel, Regent Decree from the Holy Father Granting Plenary Indulgences.

The pope refers to the "customary conditions (sacramental confession, eucharist communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff"), because they are always required for a plenary indulgence no matter what the occasion. While it is preferred that these customary conditions occur on the same day as the act of indulgence it is not necessary, and nothing is said about the location because one can fulfill these customary conditions at any Catholic church:
"It is appropriate, but not necessary, that the sacramental Confession and especially Holy Communion and the prayer for the Pope's intentions take place on the same day that the indulgenced work is performed; but it is sufficient that these sacred rites and prayers be carried out within several days (about 20) before or after the indulgenced act."

  1. So, what does it mean in the Decree of the Holy Father when it says, " if they should visit the Cathedral of Agaña"? There is only one Cathedral of Agana. The decree mentions a specific place? What does that mean?

    1. It means exactly that. However, Ms. LG. Is reported to have said the indulgence is only valid if you also confess there. Not true. Maybe they want to require everyone to attend a catechesis as the condition of their penance.

  2. I think after reading this more people will attend the CCOG Prayer rally tomorrow at the Cathedral at 4:30 pm. Thanks Coreen, you and your Neo friends do dumb all by yourselves.

  3. Wow, are you serious Coreen ? Do you really think you are the Queen Bee down there? So it takes You to go through a bad relationship and then become a NEO. Like all the rest of the Neo Cats. I think most need to have their brain checked.no hate just the truth

  4. Mind my languages but who are they in the authority of His Holiness and to use his name to do such thing !

Secondly , who dares to predict of how sins are forgiven . All priests in their ordination where given the power to forgive in the name of God . The Cathedral-Basilica has nothing to do with sins forgiven , its the priestly work of a priest.

  5. How wonderful that in the jubilee of our dioceses, we are prepared to stand together against the evil forces. God works in mysterious ways.

  6. Please my dear people, let us learn to forgive the Archbishop. I am trying to also do this, but I think it is best to let go and let God handle it. Remember, anyone who lives by the sword shall perish by the sword. Let God handle it. We must forgive. This is the way of Jesus. It is the way of the cross. Remember to do good to those who hate you and persecute you. This we must do in order for the Lord to truly enter this world...remember, not my will Lord, yours be done! The Neocatechumenal Way members are our brothers and sisters and they too will be judged in the end! I will not join you tomorrow. I must prepare the Holy Shrine of Atan Tano for the Santa Cruz fiesta. Let us follow in the footsteps of the Lord humbly. Love always, Jonathan

    1. So Jonathan, in light of this new found spirit of forgiveness, are you now publicly recanting and begging the forgiveness of the archbishop for demanding that he “must be defrocked” as you called for last August? Seriously, your “change of heart” makes us wonder who bought you or are you just planning to run for office again?

Tim, this is Jonathan Diaz. It is my understanding that Rome has been contacted concerning an incident of a former seminarian of our Archdiocese for a sexual assault by our Ordinary in the 1980's at St. JOSEPH'S College, in Moutainview, CA. I encourage all seminarians past, priest or not, to please contact Rome about this incident vis a vi Our Nuncio. We had several of them and I believe That there are substantial people who can vouch for this and is not gossip. This is fact because as a Catholic Sexual Abuse Survivor on this island of Guam, who is very much still a Catholic, I firmly believe with all my heart, mind and spirit that Apuron must be defrocked! It is time to move Rome with not only our prayers, but with actions. I am kindly asking people to not receive Holy Communion from Apuron until things get resolved. He cannot be allowed to stomp all over us because these scandals are scandals, not gossip! And if they continue to use the pulpit for politicking, just know that they will be challenged by me and everyone else who have the right to know where our money is going! We are not dumb sheep anymore!

    2. Sorry Jonathan. Just NOT voting for you....

    3. Jonathan. It is important to be clear where we stand on issues. One cannot be working for a policy one day and changing it the next day. This is exactly what Archbishop does himself. Right is right and wrong is wrong. As a future political leader you will need to be firm on where you stand on issues . To keep changing your mind according to the wind is difficult for potential voters. Most on this page work for the cause sincerely believing it is for the common good of Guam. Please do not waver on the position you take on issues.

Tony needs to sell everything possible. He lost the opportunity to sell that seminary, choosing to give it away instead. Now they are broke and have to start selling off other assets.
    Indulgences at a price!
Things are so bad at the Cathedral. Monsignor David mismanaging finances to epic proportions. Wonder how his predecessor managed where the current inept staff struggling.
Cameras are the latest failure after a/c units are dropping one by one. The 9:30 mass no longer on TV, but a parishioners says it may not be the broken cameras but a simple void in interest...no one tuning in to the mass and no one attending the Cathedral. Very embarrassing so KUAM now showing what people want to see...golf on TV.
Q: what is more boring than golf on TV?
A: Tony reading somebody else's scripted homily.
Tony, time to retire. Let a true shepherd gather our scattered flock.

  12. How is it that the Archdiocese can establish another parish with no money and can close STA down? Ohhh let me rephrase, Santa Bernadita Parish (NEO "coming out parish") a place to keep another "half baked" RMS alumni! Sooo SAD!
Watch out FSM citizens, these NEO's will "suck you and spit you out" of ALL you have!

    1. Any fool with a mitre can establish a parish.

    2. anon @7:10am - You are correct about Santa Bernadita Parish - its a NEO parish! Check out who is the NEO community leader at Santa Bernadita, its "Ball Adrian" family "Joe & Terry Cruz. Fr. Danny is a puppit for AAA as I said before, he is afraid to be fired and sent back to his province. I heard the parishioners were asked to extend the rectory for extra room to house RSM semanarians for R & R. Check it out maybe Boboy Luis Camacho is up there hiding. It has been a NEO parish ever since but kept under low profile. The FSM are being suck and used!

    3. Okay, how did Bushie work out? It's NEO alright.

      Delete
    4. Yes, Bushie was assigned there right after his ordination to make the NEO community with Joe & Terry Cruz (Adrian's cousins). They were recruiting the FSM that are staying in the Zero Down subdivision. AAA had to make Santa Bernadita a church cause the design inside is a NEO church. Go see it for yourself, you won't see any other church like that. Fr. Danny said total parishioners is 500 there now of course the FSM community are being suck of their money and more parish assessment and stipend including honorarium for him and for AAA. Just ask the collection counters plenty Mula$$$$$$.

Kikos wont go to FSM to set up shop...not enough money to feed their selfish and voracious appetites.

  14. Why are the NEOs trying to convince people other than their families to join their group? It appears that they are having a hard time convincing their families to join them. If they believe it is that good, they should not have any problem convincing their families to join them. They should start with their grandparents, parents, and siblings. Maybe their family knows to much about them. Most NEOs are in their mid 30s - to mid 50s. This is the age group where most people encounter serious personal problems and are seeking other avenues for help. I don't see too many elders in the group.

There is a perfectly good reason why there are no elders in the group!
It has to do with Fr Egivaldo's philosophy. For girls it is: look out for boys, they will treat you like oranges, and suck the sweet juice out of you, and then throw you away when you are dried up.
For man'amko, they will sweet the sweet financial juice out of you, and throw you away once they have sucked all your assets away.
Tony had better watch out. Once they suck all his assets away they will have no more use for him.
You and I may not care about his personal assets (which are quiteastounding), but what really makes Tony dangerous is that he also controls our Church assets, which are really our assets. And as we have seen with the Yona property, he is quite willing, or stupid enough, to just give it all away.

    1. Janet, bet Apuron having second thoughts about giving Yona away. Probably already had Roman tailors measure him for his splendiferous RED HAT AND ROBES. looks like he won't be placing that order. Kiko not as influential with PP Francis. Hasn't even been to lunch. Bad call....call me Tony. Now let's see you get it back from NCW use in perpetuity.

Tony is either feeling sorry because he was stupid, or feeling great anxiety if he benefited personally from giving away the prize of the Archdiocese.

EITHER WAY TONY HAS SOLD US OUT FOR THE KIKOS!

Sad days ahead for our Archdiocese because we either have a stupid shepherd who refuses to step down, or a crooked crozier-holder who is running scared because Tim and his posse are on to his crimes.

Our only hope at this point is for Rome to finally act decisively to replace our stupid/thief shepherd with someone with the integrity expected of the office of bishop. If Rome doesn't act then they also become culpable for ALL the problems we have.

And the longer Rome waits the more difficult the job for Tony's replacement.

ROME - we hope you consider our welfare before the welfare of one of your own bishops. I think we have proven beyond a doubt that Tony is not worthy of the office entrusted to him. If you truly care about "we the faithful" then you must step in and make a change.

Nothing has gotten better since you were here in July and January. Tony has only perpetuated his lies with more lies. How much more will we be forced to bear under this "leadership"?

We prayed on Sunday that you would hear our cries. Many more prayers being said by priests too afraid to speak the plain truth. It is up to you to act, but be advised we will not stop, nor will we relent. In fact, many of us are willing to take more drastic action to stop this disease which infects us.

Remember, a doctor must take out and remove some cells to save the body when a patient is infected with cancer. We are the patient, and Tony and the NCW is the cancer. Get out your sharp scalpel and excise the abnormal cells from within before we progress to Stage 4 and are diagnosed as inoperable!

WE CAN ONLY WAIT SO LONG BEFORE WE ARE FORCED TO OPERATE ON OURSELF.

ROME - DO YOU CLEARLY UNDERSTAND?
