Neo nirvana. Pizza Hut will be devastated when the fool on the hill finally gets his walking papers and nobody will buy the free-loaders a Sunday party feast.

  5. LOL, this is so true! It maybe silly, but it also speaks volumes. The Archbishop has embarrassed and made our Catholics a laughing stock on Guam. Way to go Billygoats

  7. Four easy steps to take to become a bishop

What is it that has been valued in the appointment of bishops over the last 40 years?

It seems to me two things: obedience and institutional conformity.
Pastoral experience was not seen as necessary or important.

In the last half century, how did (and does) one actually become a bishop in the Catholic church?

    There are four common steps.

First, apprentice yourself out to a bishop as his personal secretary.

Secretaries learn the day-to-day life of a bishop and the inner workings of the diocese.
Of course, the actual day-to-day work of a bishop's secretary is not very priestly or pastoral.
They drive the car, pack the bags, make the plane reservations, keep the calendar and basically act as a "man Friday."

Once, when a priest secretary to our archbishop was made a bishop, our parish secretary asked me quite innocently, "Do they always make the archbishop's valet a bishop?"

"Yes," I said, "That's pretty much how it works."

Second, get an advanced degree, preferably in canon law.

Knowing the rules of the church is the sine qua non for a bishop.
Degrees in liturgy or dogma are nice, and maybe once in a while they are useful, but the real gold standard is canon law.
All Vatican diplomats study canon law.
It is the instruction book on the machinery of the church.

Third, get a Roman connection. This step is essential.

For Americans, this often means that you either go to the North American College in Rome for your seminary or graduate work.
There are other ways to get a Roman connection, such as getting a job in some Vatican office, serving in the Vatican diplomatic corps, working for some pontifical charity, or maybe even getting yourself assigned to the Vatican embassy in Washington, D.C.
(Both Cupich and Cardinal Timothy Dolan worked there.)
Or you could work at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' headquarters in Washington.

Fourth, keep a sharp eye on the weather in Rome.
Knowing which way the wind is blowing in Rome helps adjust your own sails.

For example, if the Second Vatican Council is out of favor in Rome, it should be out of favor with you.
If "fiddle back" vestments and lace surplices are a clerical fashion statement in Rome, they should be hanging in your sacristy closet.
Does Rome oppose liberation theology, feminism, and Vatican II-style liturgical renewal?
    Well, then, so do you.

If you don't think I'm right, take a careful look at the resume of your own bishop.
    Ask him,
"What did you do before you became a bishop?"
"How many years did you actually have in full-time parish ministry?"

    Dear Tim.

I would like to share something with our readers. There was a funeral today of a priest in the Philippines. I will give you his name because because he was good priest. His name was Monsignor Bob Carpio. I met him many years ago long before I was a priest . He was dedicated to good values and good character. Unfortunately last week the Lord called him at the young age of 52. The mass was attended by bishops and priests from all over the republic of the Philippines. The sister of Monsignor Carpio have the eulogy. She said something very interesting I want to share with readers. She said that when Bob chose priesthood the church became his family the bishop his father and his brothers were priests. I'm sure our readers all over the world will be moved by this statement. Unfortunately my mind went to tony and that other poor pathetic creature camacho next door. Men like tony and tommy due to their greed and selfishness unfortunately fail to recognize the spiritual element relations between bishop and priest. These men set out to destroy the church by destroying priests. This is the problem on Guam and Saipan . These islands have lost their soul because their spiritual leaders were walking cadavers. Priests are lost when their bishops fail in spiritual leadership and care of priests. Tony and tommy failed the church of Guam and the Mariana Islands. They will forever be remembered as useless. in the meantime we must go on praying for new bishops of Guam and Saipan who will be spiritual men leading priests and people in the mind and heart of the church. These men were losers and there is no other word to describe them. Useless.

    1. Yes, Tony and Tommy are losers as salvation is lost to them if they don't repent and atone for their sins. They're not only useless but also are as vile a rogue as ever lived as many souls have been ruined by them. There will be rejoicing in this part of the world when we are rid of them. One way or another they will get what's coming to them.

I learnt to forgive Tommy for his years of moral decayed leadership. I mean just look at the Chalan Kanoa diocese it is such a pathetic way after his leadership that five years after his retirement a new bishop cannot be appointed. Unfortunately there cannot be an appointment for along time to come. Tommy left a huge mess but then his entire life was a mess.

    3. Father you learned to forgive? Yet you recklessly drag his name in a blog?

      Delete
    4. It is quite possible to forgive someone for an atrocity and still keep that person and his atrocities in public view out of charity so that others will not also be hurt. Many have privately forgiven Apuron but want his terrorizing to be made known, not just so that others will not be hurt but out of charity to Apuron so that he will stop damaging his own soul.

5.02pm may I add that in 2008 both of them recklessly dragged myself into a blog by their own stupid reckless behavior. They are the reckless ones. I have forgiven them. My blogging is to stop others from being hurt by these reckless callous individuals. I am protecting the church in Guam and saiapn from what I believe two dangerous individual who have spent their entire lives damaging priests and people.

  10. Always about money aaa only wants your money. No interest in anyone he just loves money money money money and more money. Problem is as long as you giv him money he will abuse power. You have to withdraw every cent from every parish to bring back order. Stop the money to the parishes it is the only way. Bring the archdiocese to a it's knees. Do not give money to any parish. Give to the priest to buy meals and gas for the car. But do not put money in the plate. You must be radical to return justice to the church.

  11. Is that sign on the Chancery gate ("Neo's Only") for reals? Honestly? Has that caught the eyes of the local media? That's like having a sign entering the Governor's complex at Adelup "For GOP only", or on the door of the Guam Legislature building "For DEM only". I'll have to drive up/down San Ramon Hill to see for myself! If I were the tenant behind that gate, I'de be ashamed to have had that pasted there!

    1. No. It's photoshopped. But it might as well be for real. As everyone knows.

    2. Thanks for the clarification, Tim. I guess I was just too naive to notice the pun or just too kind to give them the benefit of the doubt. But you're right - it might as well be real, because that seems to be the reality! There were others who asked me about it - so I had to ask. - jrsa.

  16. The NCW is dredging up old reports of LifeTeen founder Dale Fuskek who was excommunicated. Was it a warning to Pale Mike and the rest of those that use LifeTeen? I think the NCW should understand the article- you change the way Mass is and insert your heresy you face Excommunication. Is this the fate of the NCW? (FYI- Those pope praised the LifeTeen)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, when ordered to change their liturgy to conform to the liturgical books, the founder refused to comply but individual Life Teen communities did conform. They realized that their mission was greater than the narcissistic aims of their founder and threw him overboard. The neo's would be wise to to do the same.

      Delete
    2. Dale Fushek was excommunicated because he went rogue joining an interdenominational group and thus abandoned the Catholic faith- NOT because Life Teen.

I might add that when Life Teen was ordered to comply with Mass changes, there was initial disappoitment, but no rebellion or double talk about complying. The information was disseminated to the whole organization and all followed suit.

The organization aimed at Catholic youth, remains faithful to Jesus Christ and the ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, and APOSTOLIC faith.

  17. Let's start a trend with a new call sign/name for our catholic leader- "Tony the Terrible" Let it be his legacy/call sign as a sign of his failed leadership and unchristian like behavior.

    All hail Tony the Terrible!

    1. That’s funny. The archbishop “has more influence” than me. Well of course he does, you idiot, he’s the archbishop. And the “Appeal has increased dramatically”. Ummm well it looks like his usual “reign of terror” tactic is working. Pastors are raiding their general parish funds and even seeking donations from donors who don’t live here just so pastors can keep Apuron off their backs. Those who do give (aside from the kilo’s and Apuron’s own sugar mommas) are giving because they want to keep their pastors not because they want to support Apuron. That’s obviously clear or Apuron himself would not have sent out that letter to the pastors who didn’t meet their quotas stating that the results were “unfavorable.” LOL. You pathetic little people trying to prop up a rotting tyrant.

      Delete
  19. How easily impressed you are, anon. @11:02! Pastors are using creative means to keep out of hot water with your "influential tyrant." One of the parishes has a large pledge because the administrator has proposed that particular parish collections be designated for one of its priests covered by the chaplaincy stipends, thus making this priest's livelihood dependent on the parishioners themselves.

What the HELL did he mean by that? What is the difference between the Saturday NCW celebration liturgical book and Sunday's liturgical book?

      Delete
    3. Hafa adai Anon @ 3:10 PM,

There are many things we do that intentionally separate us from the Church, and there are things we do that we are not aware that potentially can separate us. In living the liturgy of the Church, I am consistently reviewing my actions and prayers so that I may confidently know that I am, at the least, following what the Church teaches us as given to her by Christ.

In that, you should be made aware of the many illicit practices that occur during the NCW Saturday celebration that if allowed to continue, have the potential to render the Sacraments invalid. I understand that your cathechist(s) will insist that Pope Francis and his predecessors have approved your practices, but I am afraid they are not being completely forthright with what has been approved and what has been rejected.

If you are open to maintaining a proper liturgy as the Church shows us, and wish to remain "walking" in the NCW, please feel free to email me and I will be happy to guide you through the known errors. These truths are not secret or kept hidden from anyone. Indeed the Truth will set you free.

God bless you and please keep me in your prayers,

      Jose Martinez

  21. Didn't attend my usual 12:30 pm Mass this past Sunday at Ordot church. Was headed to the GMIF and decided to attend the 11:30 a.m in Agana. Mistake! Father M.J. delivered his usual "boring" sermon and seemed to stumble thru the prayers that he was supposedly reading from the Church Mass Bible. Was he getting his NCW prayers format confused with the prayers in the bible? Never again! Also, didn't put a cent in the basket. Left before Communion. No regrets!
