IT WILL BE APURON WHO BLINKS

Archbishop Apuron's lost opportunities

How ironic that Archbishop Apuron has “retained an attorney to warn an accuser to stop ruining the name of the island’s Catholic church and its leader” (July 17 Pacific Daily News).

  1. Thank you Tim for stoking the fire. Your work is valuable to us, so that we can reclaim the "good name" of our Catholic church on Guam. Once again, God bless you and your family for all you do.

  3. Unusual highly suspect for a bishop to threaten an individual like this situation.

John Toves was not ruining name of islands catholic church. He was questioning an individual.
catholic church and leader different concepts.
Archdiocese is in debt yet leader now uses money to pay for lawyers letters. Red flags all over.

    1. All Apuron ever had to do was say he was innocent of the allegations Toves brought against him. He never has. There's a reason.

One of the reasons to fund the CCOG is so they can be in a position to get the legal help many individuals have been asking for. They are afraid to come out without knowing that they will be protected.

Please help fund the CCOG. It is the only way.

  4. Just read the article. Pattern in the logic manner all these insane things happen. I also noted the New Jersey boss did not enter Guam last month so there is an attempt to change routine.

Anonymous (August 1, 2015 at 11:13 AM), IMO your astute observation that the New Jersey boss did not enter Guam last month can be credited to the efforts of JungleWatch AND the Concerned Catholics of Guam. Thanks to the CCOG village meetings, people who were unfamiliar with the contents of JW were able to hear — and read — for themselves about the problems within our local Catholic Church.

While the actions taken against two popular priests in the month of July — Fr. Paul Gofigan in 2013 and Msgr. James Benavente in 2014 — took us by surprise, it was clear that in July 2015 we were ready for the next attack. The element of surprise was gone; they've had to regroup.

While AAA assured the parishioners of Toto that "Pale' Mike is not going anywhere for now anyway" that addendum — "for now anyway" — indicates to me that Fr. Mike Crisostomo still has a target on his back.

      We must remain vigilant.

      St. Athanasius, pray for us

  5. Well said Tim! It's past time that this archbishop step down so that a more effective leader (preferably non-Neo) can take his place and clean up the mess that Apuron has made.

    3. According to anon from Dianamighty, Tim, you get your info from an ITALIAN blog. Anon seems that JW is being ridiculed world wide

    4. Thank you Tim. It's really quite obvious that those in the Neo are quite cowardly. It's easy to insult and degrade from the comforts of anonymity, but it really just shows that what they say is worthless because they shoot from the shadows and are too afraid to attach a name to what they say. In essence, what they say is not worth a darn thing.

  6. True Tim 11.13am. Answer is simple . Apuron only needed to say he was innocent.

By way tony if you are reading this best not to attend Monday's funeral as your presence is really not wanted there. If you do turn up basic respect would be shown but really people revile you. Please have integrity and do not show up.

  7. Excellent recap, Tim! A liar has to have a good memory. The arch is a good liar with a bad memory. I am so glad I no longer put money in the collection basket. I get some satisfaction knowing that I am in no way helping to pay for the attorney in his lawsuit. I really think he has a mental problem and is delusional. If not, he's just plain evil.
